*Kero himself falls asleep in his cocoon, again wondering what trouble Luna will get into tomorrow...thanking God she cannot fly at the moment...that's one potetnial hazard down...though he hates himself for thinking such things...*

The next morning, Luna comes walking into the galley, proud of herself, which makes Kero wonder how the heck did she get out of the crib. She walks to where he is and demands to be picked up. She's hungry and more than a little testy. When he doesn't respond right away, she bats her liquid black eyes at him and makes "puppy" faces, hoping he'll feed her soon.

*Kero doesn't pick her up...but he does set a plate of food...bacon, eggs, and toast, to be precise...in front of her, then goes back to his cooking...the smell from the pot he is stirring, and occasionally tasting with a grimace, is delicious...like liquidized chicken...is heavenly...and it seems to require his full attention*

Luna nibbles at her breakfast, eating about half of it, then her curiosity gets the better of her and she begins tugging at Kerobian's robe. She wants up so she can see what he's doing.

She starts to stomp off then stops in her tracks. She looks at some boxes and sacks stacked in a corner and you can almost see the light bulb go on above her head. Very quietly she begins to maneuver them into a tlike fashion against the end of the counter. Kero starts to correct her then decides to see just how far she is going to go with this, besides it is keeping her out of his hair.

*Finally, though, Kero grows weary of the noise, and scoops her up in a tentacle...wrapping it around her like the tail of a serpent, he hoists her up so she can see....that he is simply constantly stirring and adding as he boils bones and pieces down to a liquid, extracting every nutrient he can from them*

She wiggles free of the tentacle and using her claws she climbs up to his shoulder, where she curls around his neck and begins to hum happily. She is singing a child tune he's taught her about her ABC's... over and over and over again.

She hops to the counter and begins sliding the various bottles he's reaching for into his hands. It seems she's bored and wants to help any way she can. While he stirs the pot some more, she explores the counter and finds the cookie jar. "Eeep?" she asks politely.

*Kero holds up a single finger, then goes back to stirring...it seems his broth takes more effort than simply boiling bones one finds in one's trash...but it smells so good, it seems to be worth the extra effort*

She manages to get the lid off and pulls out one cookie. Just then her fairy comes flying in, seems Luna forgot to send her back into her stone when they woke up. The fairy sees the cookie and begins to big for some. Luna sighs heavily and tires to break her cookie in half and winds up making a crumbly mess. She sighs and hands the fairy a crumb and sits down hard on her rump, depressed and kind of out of it.

*Kero snaps his fingers, reforming her cookie into two halves, then tells her to go play...and not to go on deck...he's working on something up there...*

She looks at the floor and asks the fairy for help. By hanging onto the fairy's feet she makes it down unscathed... barely. (poor fairy) And the two of them disappear, out the door and down the hall. It sounds like they are going to her room, but actually they are peeking into any room along the way that might be open. *Hmmm, this one smells interesting. Is that a monkey with wings?*
