why arent women required to sign up for that draft thingy the way men are?? i mean i'm not a huge "women can do anything a man can do" type of person but it doesnt seem fair that my fiancee could be yanked off to war while i have the freedom to sit at home twiddling my thumbs if i wished

Well men aren't required to do that anymore....and women are not allowed into combat positions.

My reasons against it being I believe that all people have some kind of potential, and entry into the service puts one's potential at risk. In other words, I value my own potential too highly to go to war where I dislike the likelihood of my a** being blasted into nothingness. Tonight is the night we become Great!
