 "Thank you."
[Silverstar's ears shot forward at the wail of a queen. Thunderpaw heard it too; her jump was waay off balance.]
"Thunderpaw!"
[Silverstar rushed forward, though it was training, she couldn't bear to see the young cat be hurt. She threw her massive body beneath the apprentice, muffling her fall. Once Thunderpaw had landed on her, she slid herself out from underneath and looked the apprentice over.]
"Thunderpaw! Are you okay?"

[Brightspirit lifted her head]
"What was that?"
[Riverfang glanced towards the direction of the wail]
"I think it was a queen...she has lost..her..kit"
[Brightspirit looked at him in surprise, her green eyes wide]
"How did you know that?"
[He shrugged]
"It's what my mother sounded like when she lost my brother"
[Brightspirit glanced at him again, then spoke]
"I didn't know you had a brother..."
[She said quietly]

 (ok. IceStorm shall b right there. and srry i wasnt on lately. so yeah. anyone wann help me catch up?)
FireStorm looked at Lusterkit as he heard that Redkit was missing. then he heard that redkit was dead because she had the madness. he padded over to lusterkit. He licked the kits ears in a brotherly way. "It will be alright. She will watch you always." He told the kit twitching his tail to the sky.

[I let out a sigh of relief. Silverstar had prevented me from getting a serious injury.]
"Thank you, Silverstar," I said quickly.
"Should we head back to camp?" I asked, shifting my feet.
[Something terrible had happened to a kit. This I was sure of.]

  [Silverstar nodded hastily. She flicked her tail toward Riverfang and Brightspirit, and they set off and a dead run to camp. Silverstar heard the kit's wail and the wail of Dawnthistle, but couldn't leave Thunderpaw in the training hollow.]
"Riverfang, Brightspirit, you must not get too close. I fear very much of what has happened at camp could cause my Clan to judge you. I will properly introduce you, but for the moment, please hang back."
[Silverstar called over her shoulder as the branches of bushes whipped her face. Eventually, the foursome skidded into camp. Silverstar's eyes grew wide with horror at the sight that greeted them. Redkit was lying dead in the middle of the clearing, Lusterkit and Moonkit already mourning for her as Firestorm tried his best to comfort the kits. She stepped forward and shouldered Firestorm and the other cats away, signaling them all to step back. She called to Thunderpaw.]
"Get Starpelt. See what she can do to ease these kits' pain."
[She gently licked Lusterkit and Moonkit in comfort. She rested her tail on Dawnthistle's shoulder in a gesture of comfort. She raised her head to address her Clan, not bothering to get on top of the Fernhill. She was aware of what had taken this kit; the Madness.]
"Fellow cats. We mourn for Redkit, as she is a great loss. Her spirit will live on in StarClan and we will all see her again one day. The elders will perform the burial ceremony next sunrise, and we will sit vigil tonight."

 (Since Hawkpaw is back. IceStorm is now Back as well.)
IceStorm had rushed into camp to find kits devastated. She padded to the kits and licked them in comforting sister like ways. Lusterkit reminded her of herself, when her own sister died. A hot tear of pain flowed down her cheek. IceStorm and FireStorm stepped back, as SilverStar came. Yet IceStorm still remained near Lusterkit.

[I bowed my head, my eyes hollow. I bounded towards the medicine den and called for Starpelt.]
"Starpelt," I said as I entered, "we need something to ease the pain for mourning kits."
[Bowing my head, I backed out of the den and padded over to the scene.
I bent, sniffing the sour-smelling dead kit. My sharp nose caught something. My heart stopped in my chest.]
"Silverstar," I said, my eyes wide, "I smell NightClan on this kit!"
[I looked up at my mentor, my eyes filled with fear.]
"Not only that," I whispered, "but I faintly smell Leapordpaw."
[My accute sense of smell gave it away to me. Redkit had a small cut on her side that smelled of Leapordpaw's sweet scent.]

FireStorm's claws flexed at thunderpaw's words. *NightClan. I have had enough of them...* His anger roaring, flashed in his eyes like a lion. Calming himself down he remembered when DarkStorm had died, it was hard on him and IceStorm. As a male he knew what Lusterkit was feeling and hoped he would be able to help him overcome this.

"Shine like a bright star on a stormy night."

[Lusterkit looked up from his sister's body, his fluffy gray cheek fur now soaked and plastered to his face with tears. His lips curled into a pitiful snarl.]
"There were two cats. A pretty golden one with silver eyes and a grumpy black one who seemed like a...medicine cat. They were crying too, as if they didn't want to kill Redkit. I felt sympathy and sorrow, but surprisingly no anger. I think...
I think that they thought that they were...helping her."
[Lusterkit wondered why he had defended the cats that killed his sister, but somehow he knew that they had helped her and that Redkit would have thanked them.]

 Moonkit
[Moonkit shook her head at Thunderpaw's words.]
"No.." she whispered gently in her ear.
"I'm not the one you should be worried about." she mewed quietly.
[Her eyes were fixed worriedly on Dawnthistle and Redkit.
[She stepped up to Silverstar, and stared boldly in her eyes.]
"This kit was killed because of the Madness, no clan cat would ever kill a kit for no reason." she mewed, eyes blazing as if to challenge anyone to her words.

[Brightspirit nodded and melted into the shadows]
"Riverfang, come back here"
[He looked at his mate]
"Fine. But I don't want to. Whatever has happened to this kit is horrible. I can tell. I want to help"
"I know you do,"
[She said quietly]
"But the Clan is kinda tense right now, and Silverstar isn't sure what kind of welcome we'd get"

[Silverstar returned Moonkit's stare, her green eyes warm and proud. She admired the kit for standing up to her leader.]
"Yes Moonkit. No Clan cat could kill a kit purposefully, it's just not in their nature. Redkit was one of the unfortunate cats infected with the Madness. We will not raid NightClan, we will not attack. We will not say anything at the Gathering. Clan life will move on, but Redkit will always have a place in our Clan. It was not this...Leopardpaw's fault. I heard about her at the Gathering. She seems to know about the Madness and seems to be quite sweet. I doubt she would have killed a kit, especially from a rival Clan."
[Silverstar flicked her tail at Lusterkit in comfort. She blinked warmly at Moonkit and signaled for all cat cats to step back except those closest to Redkit. She signaled for them to continue. Only Lusterkit, Snowkit, Moonkit, Wheatear, and Dawnthistle remained by Redkit. Silverstar licked each kit soothingly, and then stepped back to speak with Brightspirit and Riverfang.]

IceStorm moved back and found herself resisting. She moved back next to FireStorm, their pelts touching. Both lowered their heads to avoid anyones gaze. IceStorm felt her sisters presence close by. She stopped herself from bursting into tears and closed her eyes.

Moonkit
[Moonkit felt a rush of pride for having such a powerful and wise she-cat as leader.
She looked around hoping to catch Starpelt for a word.
Frustrated, she realized she'd forgotten about her hurt friend.
Her anger and frustration melted as she saw Lusterkit's face.
She nuzzled his cheek before stepping away.]
"Be strong, for her." she mewed looking into his dazzlingly blue eyes.
[She backed away to let the family mourn.
Although Moonkit was already apprentice, her kit curiosity had never left her.
She followed Silverstar's pale pelt to where two cats were sitting down.
Intrigued, she crept along the clearing floor, hoping not to get caught like this.]
