Opal's ears folded, looking at Vaati. She didn't really know what to say, Vaati must still feel pain from his past life. She looked away, trying to think of something to say. "... You have to let your past go Vaati, if you don't accept that your past is your past, then it'll continue to haunt you... focus on what is now... not what has happened." Opal said, not knowing what else to say but that.

"I did, but then it came back." Vaati muttered quietly. For a while, he had no problem accepting that he killed and practically destroyed his village. But there was something reminding him of the past and he didn't quite know what it was. Then it hit him. "I guess I just feel pathetic again."
"As far as we can go, I guess. I don't know if I have the energy to make it all the way to the top and back down." Alyssa answered, stopping so she could try and see the distance from where she was standing.

Zathier shrugged and continued onward. "Just be careful around here." He warned as he looked at the rocks. "There's a lot of loose gravel on the edges." The boy explained.

Zathier nodded. "Yeah, but I can't prevent you from falling." He said. But if Alyssa did fall, he would jump off and catch her, like he did with Opal. Even if it did mean getting his back hurt again.

"How come?" Opal asked, what would make Vaati feel pathetic? Was it her, was she making him feel pathetic, and if not her? Then was it someone that was making him feel worse? She remembered that the events, Zathier, Kaze, everyone had been pushing him around. Her ears folded back, wondering how she would cheer him up.

"I think it might be the sword training." Vaati shrugged, finding himself beginning to fall asleep again. He couldn't get any restful sleep due to his dreams. He shook himself awake and sat up. He didn't want to sleep.
"I'll be extra careful then." Alyssa mumbled, staying clsoe to the mountain rather than the edge or the middle. If she did fall, it would hurt, assuming she survived of course. She glanced over at the edge and paled when she how far up they've gotten. They hadn't been climbing for long.

Zathier continued to follow after Alyssa. "Alyssa... Sorry for... making you listen to what happened to my parents... I'm sure you probably didn't want to know..." He murmured, looking at the ground.

"Don't worry, Zathier. We're ehre to get our minds off it, not for you to aplo-" Alyssa was cut short when the gravel slipped under her feet. She tripped and fell, landing on the trail only a few inches short of the edge. Alyssa was completley white, frozen with fear. What if the gravel was loose here too?

Zathier's eyes widened as Alyssa fell. He rushed over and pulled her away from the edge. "Are you alright?" He asked quickly, pulling her closer and closer towards him.

"I don't want to be here anymore, Zathier. I want to leave right now." She mumbled, shaking her head to fight back some of the stray tears. She felt so childish for being so scared, but she never realized she was so afraid of heights.

Opal took his hand, lying him onto her lap. "Sleep, I'll protect your dreams." Opal said, looking down at him face calmly.

Zathier held Alyssa close, trying to calm her down. "Alyssa, it's alright. We're back against the wall, far away from the edge." He explained as he hugged her. "It's alright." Zathier repeated, hoping Alyssa would start to calm down.

Alyssa took a few deep breaths, then realized how far away from the edge they were now. She looked at the edge nervously, then buried her face in his shoulder. "Are we still going to climb?"
Vaati looked at her blurry face and squinted for a sharper vision. He hated being partially blind, it made him feel helpless. "I'll sleep later." He mumbled, sitting up again. "What happened, Opal? Your wind is stronger than usual." Vaati mumbled in half-surprise. How didn't he notice earlier?

Opal looked at him with a 'if you refuse sleep, you're going to end up collapsing' kind of look, but sighed. Opal blinked when he asked why her wind was suddenly so strong. She remembered her goddess powers. "... I think my goddess powers have fully awakened... I don't know why, they just have and I have better sense and control of the wind. Not only that, I seem to gained powers to control peoples emotions and heal people." Opal explained, looking at her hands, they were still glowing dimly light blue, but it was almost barely noticeable, unless you looked really hard for it.
