Eric never took his eyes off reiko until his father picked up. He looked away when he did.
"Fringe residence, this is..."
"hey dad,"
"Oh, hello son. What do you need?"
"I have a ninja here looking for you,"
"A bloody ninja? What would she want with me?"
"She wants you to teach her apparently. I have no idea why,"
"Hmmm. You seem to have an affinity for attracting strange events,"
"Understatement of the year,"
"Put her on. I haven't had to speak that language in a long time. I'll see what's going on here,"
"Thanks dad," Eric said. He looked toward reiko and beckoned her toward the phone. "Here she is,"

Eric glared at kirune and walked over to her. "Don't push her over the edge! She's not being hostile now and it will stay that way all right! Do you want to start a fight here?" he whispered angrily at her. I hate these fragile situations. Usually I can keep a cool head but I'm always trembling like a little child inside. The consequences, should this event boil over, could lead to an entire orginization to come after me and harm not only me, but everyone close to me. Bloody assassins, he thought.
Leopold sighed. "Hello miss," he said.

Eric glared at kirune again. "Do I have to freaking tie you up? Do you have any idea how dangerous this could get? If she gets mad enough we either have a fight with a dangerous opponent or an assassin clan slashing us down. This is not a game kirune. My family's lives are at stake here. You, Namine, and Lawrence as well. Everyone we care about could die if we don't handle this properly," he whispered. Damn, I really didn't feel like fighting after basically a whole week of it back home. First heartless, now ninjas. Just a freaking ray of sunshine this day has been, he thought.
Leopold sighed. "(it's obvious English is your native tongue. How about we continue this conversation in a language we both understand? It'll keep my son from listening in as well,)" he said.

Eric sighed. Damn! I messed up again. What is it with me and mistakes? No, don't go brooding again. Just apologize and comfort her and she will still like you, he though. He put a hand on kirune's shoulder. "I'm sorry. I did not mean to make you cry. It's just that the pressure of this situation is getting to me. I haven't had to deal with such hostilities in a long time. To be honest, I'm legitimately afraid of her. Not so much her as what she may do. Assassins are not folks to be messed with," he softly made her head look at his. "don't cry. It was a natural response for you. Sometimes it's good to diffuse a tense situation with humor. Sometimes it isn't. Now let's just calm down and think up a strategy for if this goes haywire," he whispered.
Leopold chuckled. "(I haven't had to use it in forever. It's not exactly something I use every day,)" he said.

Eric tried to hide his fear and hugged kirune.
"(Hmmm. How did you hear of me? I was never really known for my teaching ability,)" leopold said.

"(The school has a file on me? As well as my son? My paranoia was not in vain then. What do you mean by 'Make it worth my while?')"
Leopold asked. "(Is this bribery or blackmail?)"
Eric took some comfort in having kirune by his side.

"(Fine. But are you positive it's me you want? Not many people want to learn how to use a bostaff. It's all swords with you kids today,)" leopold replied.

Leopold sighed. "(I guess there's no convincing you otherwise. Give me a few days to prepare some things and the we may begin. My son will drop you off,)" he said.
