Kerobian *Some are in languages she cannot read...some are chained off...some seem to speak of secret power...and mixed in are books on the theory of magic...Master level or higher...Shia is amazed...these are the instruction booklets for all elemental magic...the basic manual for mages...she finds Fire, Water, Air, Lightning, Ice...then one on Void...and Twilight...then one on Sight-magic....Master Level* she picks up the last one... not intending to do anything but examine it, but finds it so interesting she can't seem to put it down....

shia hangs her head... i was only going to see how hard it was... then i saw this passage here... she points out a rather involved theory and thought it odd... i mean iffin the caster did that would he... and goes on to set yer head spinning with a rather in depth analysis of what could go wrong if the caster follows his instructions....

Be that as it may...and ye got one thing wrong...yer assuming he needs both eyes to view things...when using something such as a seeing crystal, the jewel becomes your eyes...it's best just to close yours when ye're using it.
Be that as it may, though....do not take books off my shelves, kiddo....iffin ye want something to read...ask...Jor can fetch you a book better suited to your level...some of these tomes are cursed, Shia.
Now...something has come up...Jor's asleep right now, so don't bug him...play on my laptop if you like...but don't touch the books, okay?

shia sighs and turns on the laptop.... but find it is mostly used for his work... still he does have a solitaire game on it so she plays with that for a while.... when they don't return after an hour or so, she finds a cushion and an empty corner... and cries herself to sleep....

shia shakes her head... i... i'm... bored she stammers... and i have nothing to do... and ye tell me not to touch anything... and i can't go anywhere... and uncle jor is asleep... and i'm all alone... and i miss my dolly..... and my books.. and champhy and ... and... why did ye bring me here... iffin all ye are going to do is dump me in a room and leave me there... am i that scary... did ye bring me here to get me away from people so i won't mess with their minds?

Kiddo...take one look at me....I never wanted this to happen...I had planned to start your lessons immediately after my meeting...but I cannot ignore a raid by Shadows...not in my Void. If you miss your toys and books, though...Envision them with me...show me your room...and your dollies...and your books...

If you miss your toys and books, though...Envision them with me...show me your room...and your dollies...and your books... shia thinks real hard about her room... her toys and her worktable... and her small canopied bed.... as well as her small library of books... only half of which are children's stories... the rest being her lesson books..... and some books on painting....

Through there you'll find my bedroom...go through it...touch anything you like, except the black coccoon on the wall...and go through the dooron the far end...ye may be suprised at what you find.

shia nods her gratitude and does as he suggests... except she does look at the cocoon... doesn't touch it though... but gives it a good sniff to see what she can tell about it from it's smell...
then she goes to the far door and opens it.............

*When she opens the door...she finds an exact replica of her room, complete with scene shifting outside the window...on her bed is a small book entitled "Sight Magic- Apprentice Level"...attached is a note from Kero, as well as a small bag of candy*
Kiddo...don't ever think you're scary...I brought you here because once you reach Journeyman level, you will have to live with me until I deem you a master. However....it's not too bad...This book should keep you from getting bored...and the candy should help ease your homesickness...there's a spell on it, crafted by one of the Gem-Children, to do just that. Don't eat more than one piece now, though...I'm cooking dinner

shia open the bag and pulls out a small piece of rock candy (thought it was apropos) then stretches out on the bed opening the book... she begins to read, but soon realizes she has already read most of the material in the first four chapters before... she goes to her library and finds the book she remembers reading there and brings it back to compare the two... surprisingly the book she owns is more detailed at first but then it takes great leaps and bounds in intuition... where as kero's book continues along in a patient vein explaining things in detail... she tosses her own book on the floor and tries to get back into her reading, but her growling tummy distracts her concentrtion....
