The shock and sudden clarity kept Talbot from replying right away, but when he eventually did, he did so with a semi-confident smile he'd never shown to Arron thus far. "Yes. And I think I know how to defeat my mistress," he paused, smile fading and being replaced with a sheepish one, "ah... well... after I'm in better shape of course."

"C-Care to en-enlighten me..?" asked the Lythcol mechanic. He was throw very off of his one track mind that this train of thought had derailed & was on fire. Arron sat down on the coffee table with the unsheathed sword hanging limply in his hands.

"Well... first I should explain how this all started." the knight began. He tried sitting up, and managed with a bit of trouble. His new-found pride would not let him lay down while he explained himself. "Atticus and I were on our way to deliver the signed peace treaty to the black kingdom. We did not bring our armour, and I did not bring my sword.. because that would appear counter-intuitive."Atticus grunted, sitting up and placing his large paws on the edge of the couch."When we made it to the forest, it was dark, so we decided to camp out, but then... my mistress came to us and offered us a place to stay," he frowned at the memory of it. "Atticus and I were suspicious of her, and kindly rejected her offer, so that was when she explained herself to us. She told us that she had made a deal with death. If she could somehow keep the war going without killing anyone herself, she would be granted the power to turn other people's energy into her own life force," Talbot clenched his fists, "I could not let such a selfish action go without retribution, but I played into her hands. When I aimed to stop her while on Atticus, she threw a dagger into my shoulder and I fell from him, hitting my head on a rock. That was how I lost my memory... and from there she manipulated me and used me as her slave."

The mechanic could only nod quietly as he listened to the full story come to light. Everything made sense, & he felt like he was now looking at a completed puzzle. "...So... h-how d-do we de-defeat her?" he asked. Arron did not like where the plan was starting to go.

"She aims to take my life, so I assume that her life-force is too incredibly long by now for it to make much of a difference at this point. She will try to kill me, and likely you. That's for certain," Talbot said with the same frown still on his face, "but her life force is still limited. If we're able to give her enough life-ending blows, we should be able to deplete the four years worth of life she's gained. I noticed that she can not easily drain energy while healing her injuries, so we simply won't let up on our attacks. It will be a long and difficult battle... but I have faith we can do it."

Breathing a small sigh of relief, Arron stood & started rummaging through a few things in a box. He pulled out a small canister & set it on the coffee table. "It's... n-not much to-to look at... b-but it can level th-the forest if it-it goes b-badly." he said, "It's... n-not much to-to look at... b-but it can level th-the forest if it-it goes b-badly."[b]"I-I can set it off if-if needed."[b/]

"But... that would likely only take away one of her stored lives, and it would takes us with it. I think it may be too risky.." Talbot responded. He didn't entirely understand the device, but it still sounded much too dangerous.

"It's r-radiation. Th-The blast w-would t-take away one l-life... b-but the effects w-would t-take many in-in the end."he explained, "She w-would have to-to con-constantly h-heal herself or w-watch her b-body be-become can-cancerous. It-It would be-be a-a last re-resort." Arron did not like the idea either, but thought it was best to have another plan if nothing worked for them.

Talbot nodded. "Then it will only be a last resort. Regardless, we should get ready..." he tried to stand, but his knees buckled and he ended up sitting back down. "Ah... I'm... still not well enough it seems..." he put his hand to his head and cringed slightly.

"Y-You still look f-fevered. Pl-Please rest for now... I-I'll make you something to-to eat..." commented the mechanic as he stood. He was smiling kindly as he sheathed the sword & placed it in the chest. He then started making a very light breakfast for his friend.

"Ah... all right." Talbot nodded, obediently laying back down. He stared at the ceiling and recounted all of the memories that had flooded into his head. Childhood memories... memories of being a page, then a squire. He recalled all of the terrible experiences of being bullied by most of the people in the kingdom, but also the pleasant memories of spending time with his parents or just lounging around with Atticus. It was all so fresh in his mind, as if it had all just happened. He smiled gently, glad to have everything back.

Soon there was the smell & sound of eggs being cooked. "...H-How do you like y-your eggs?" asked Arron.

"Eggs?" the knight blinked. He thought about it for a moment. "Ah, I like them scrambled, please." he finally said, sure of himself. Yes, he'd tried eggs before. He'd tried all sorts of foods. He recalled that his favourite food was mashed potatoes with gravy. How could he have forgotten that? Or that he didn't much like spicy foods. It was wonderfully strange to recall his preferences.

"O-Okay..." said Arron from the small kitchenette. Once the eggs were ready, Arron scooped them onto a plate & brought them over to his friend along with a small glass of orange juice. He did not make anything for himself, & looked very tired himself.

"Thank you... ah, didn't you make anything for yourself?" the knight frowned, worried about Arron. He slid his legs off the side of the bed. "I'll go make you something to eat, just one moment." he stood up and gently sat Arron down on the bed.
