Tam sighs and shakes his head. "Kero knows why he's still inside. You should ask him why he is... He did something very bad, sweetling... He's lucky my mother left his punishment up to me. She's a goddess ye know... iffin she wanted to, she could have fried his toes... naw... froze hs toes... frying wouldn't have hurt him much."

"In all honesty, Princess... a punishment was given. He has yet to fulfill it... if, I continued to punish he after that time was up then I would be in the wrong, as it is, I am not. Some things need to be prolonged, so that the person being punished understands the magnitude of what they have done wrong. The punishment I gave him was neither too long nor too short and you had best drop the subject... understood?" Pushing his way from the table Tam gets up with an angry glare and storms from the room.

Tam turns around, picks her up and carries her from the room to the living room, where he sits her on a stool while he plops down into his chair. "Do you honestly believe I enjoy punishing him, Princess?"

Tam sighs. "Salunia. I do not tell your father how to punish you. As for spanking in general, I'm against it for one reason alone. It inflicts pain. And not all lessons learned form it are the correct ones. Many children punished as such may not repeat the action but why... is it because they understand the wrongness of what they have done or because they do not wish to feel pain again? It's a toss up in my book, one I do not wish to make. I want Kero to understand the gravity of his behavior and respond accordingly. As for him crying all the time, I know he is unhappy, but he has yet to come to me to talk about this. If he believes me unfair, he should come to me himself, not send a small child to do it for him. And before you lecture me again... don't. He was given one month, no more... no less. In many ways it could have been worse. I did not make him stay in his room... I did not take away from him the things he loves. All he has loss is his freedom for an extended period of time, nothing more... nothing less and that time is actually going rather quickly. If he had to spend it sitting in his room alone, he'd be feeling far worse."

"Salunia, let me ask you something... what kind of punishment should someone get if they threaten to kill you?" says Tam quietly. "Or to kill someone you know and love very much?"

Tam sighs. "The person was very very angry and trying to force someone into doing something they wanted done... something the other person didn't want to do. It doesn't matter, Salunia if the something was bad or good... in this case it could have been either or both... and the person was my mother... would you like it if someone threatened to kill your mother?"

Tam sighs. "Well, I didn't like it either... and neither did my mother like being threatened, sweetling.... and she was pretty sure he wasn't serious... or rather not that serious. He was very very serious as she puts it... very... but she understood why. Trouble is, if it had been someone other than my mother he had threatened, they would not have know he was only trying to force them to get his way and that he wouldn't do it. He wasn't kidding, Princess.... He was that upset about something he should have talked over with me only he didn't... ahhh... how can I put it... I know... has yer father taught ye about the blood pool yet and how dangerous it is?"
