It's nice and purple-y. It think you have a few extra items that aren't really necessary, because I like what you've done with the ears, eyes and the hair.

It's a tad bit monotonous, as most of the items have the same colour scheme. But I do like the inclusion of the winged sandals, it makes me think of some sort of Greek goddess.

Nah. It's too busy and inconsistent. It's not so much about matching, but when you have that initial character concept then you just sort of pile on clutter in the fore and background, it's not gonna fly.

Yours is alright.
Don't dislike it but don't like it.
It's nice with all the matching and going together though.
Anyway...
This isn't a main avi.
It's a chaotic Halloween one.
Doesn't bother me that this avatar is cluttered,
I know it is -- I tektek avatars and tend to avoid clutter.
I just wanted to use the items I rarely use.
There was no 'character' concept to begin with.
It was simply a. . .
"I don't use this item -- lets find a pose it looks okay in."
I didn't want it to look together or amazing or what not -- that's not my goal.
Rather than my usual. . .
"Okay, I need this here and that there -- this color has to span out to here."

Need a break from all that crap.
Either way.

And the avatar... It doesn't look too cluttered to me. I can still see the main features of your avatar, such as the avatar itself. I like the 'big scary tentacles' idea. As for not matching, who cares? It's rare my avs match... it's more about design than colour. Like, in this one, I tried to go with complimentary colours, or colours across from each other on a normal colour wheel. While messing about I noticed that the orange from the Fremere's Gaurd looked pretty darn amazing with this shade of blue, so after the fuzzy coat thing I had going I decided to build around orange and blue. :3
