Mairi blinked as she realized what her mother was referring to. Oh... I didn't think about that... my... birth... mother... would have... and did... laugh at me... when I didn't feel well, usually once a month... you aren't dying, are you? Get to work then, you little b***h, she said softly as she altered her voice to sound like a raspy feminine smoker's voice, recalling her mother's words, even down to the distaste and disdain in her tone. She shivered at the memories it brought up, as she had been twelve when those... monthly incidents... had started, yet her father had kept enjoying her for a good six months after. She blinked, seeing something pale in front of her, not realizing it was the same tissues she'd blown her nose with before, glancing up at her mother disbelievingly. Kairi groaned as she woke slowly, her eyes fluttering as the predawn light streamed within the window. Her muscles felt stiff and resistant to movement as she stretched as she sighed, sitting up slowly as she ran her fingers through very messy pale blue hair that fell in waves over her bare shoulders. Mairi's eyes opened as she groaned, her head pounding as the sunlight streamed through the window. Bakayaro... that doesn't help my headache, she mumbled as she coughed before she heard the soft knock on the door. Kairi yawned softly as she stretched before tentatively rising before she tripped, her feet tangled in her blankets before she caught herself from tumbling to the floor, fortunately. Mairi tired gaze flicked to her mother. Ugh... I don't know if there's a name for a headache worsened by light. Feels like someone's beating a drumbeat in my head, she said with a grimace, her voice low; she was unaware it was known as a migraine. Her ears twitched as she heard a muted thud down the hall, unaware it was Kairi almost falling out of bed. Kairi managed to untangle herself from the blankets, though she yawned afterwards before she managed to shakily stand.
