David knodded at what Eri stated, then he said, "Agreed."
Alex looked up at his dad, physically telling him he should shut the hell up. Then he looked back at Eri, and smilled. Her face went red and she looked away. "What's wrong?" He asked, putting his hand on her shoulder. When he didn't get an answer he figured it was nothing.
David looked at Alex, sticking his tongue out at his message. Then he watched with intrest when Eri's face went red. She's blushing!!! HAH!!!... Nice going Alex... No wait not nice... she's infected David thought suddenly losing the smile on his face. Damn... If he does like her... I have to find a vaccine... I don't want to get between true love... He thought to himself looking away with a really serious look, remembering how his parents tried to stop him from marrying Sarah. Then he looked back with even more interest when she mentioned the scents. Wow, there is alot I could learn from her about infected. David thought. He knew they used scents to hunt, but maybe they use them to communicate too? David was probably the only one in the group who trully understood the remark... However he wouldn't put it past any of them. They were all very smart.
Alex asked, "What?" at Eri's remark... He's not sending scents... what the heck does that mean? He wondered, clearly not understanding the meaning... His dad had never discussed the infected with him... all he knew is that they ate people and if they got any of their fluids in you, you turn infected too.

((lol! Okay... I'm sure Kalila and Nicholas will have enough faith in Mizuki to not do anything stupid.
Ahiru... I advice not lengthening your posts with thought because people can't respond to thought. If they do respond to thoughts they are absolutely stupid or their character has the ability to read thought... Which is not possible in this RP. But, anyways, I'm very proud of how long your post right after Gothic_Kyo’s was... Even though it lacked the whole your character moving to get inside the store and what not
Oh... Funny_Man0... I LOVE YOUR SIGNATURE!))

Nina had seen the two at the window before they called for her. After all, she was near the window. She looked up immediately when she heard her name. She saw Thomas and, a little ways behind him, the Serge. She stood up, peered out the window, and looked back to the two.
"We're going immediately to Walmart." She said rather bluntly. "Kalila and them are already headed there... For all I know they could be there already." She informed. "I plan to lock up my house before we leave. If ever Walmart just isn't safe anymore, we could always come back to this place. We leave in your truck, sergeant. Reshion had brought the Honda. If we don't manage to fit inside your truck... The worst-case scenario is we have to take the Honda too. But, It's only four blocks... I doubt it." She mumbled the last part. "We need to take weapons," She said patting her rapier on its hilt. "and that's it. I assume your truck has supplies in it..." She mumbled. "I'm sorry to rush you guys... But it's getting terribly hot and my patience is thinning." She said wiping her forehead with the back of her hand. "Jainy... Are you ok?" Jain nodded her head slowly in reply. "Can you do this?" Jain paused for a little bit and finally nodded her head. "Alright... We should get going.... Oh... What did you have to say by the way?" Nina finally asked, realizing she had cut him out in her need to explain her plan.

Ada barked at David that he might use her for testing things out for his theories. As he bent down to Eri, she immediately became ridged, ready to pistol wipe him if he attempted anything. Instead, the scientist asked to see Eri's foot. Ada still didn't trust him. It was the simple fact of him doing stupid things while she was around. As David spoke to her and walked away, Ada sneered at him. He thought he was such a mature person for what he said. It hit her pride. She wondered if he really thought she was that stupid. She knew the way scientist thought, advancing knowledge in sacrifice of many things. How did she know he wasn't like that all along and she just now discovered the piece of information.
Nikita on the other hand relaxed a little bit at what David said. His glare lightened. However, he was still weary of him. He had run-in's with some crazy scientists in his time in the mafia. They could do some pretty brutal stuff while keeping a mask of a smiling face you were suppose to be swindled into trusting.
A few moments after the whole group, accept Nikita, Ada, and Eri went inside, Ada lead them inside. She kept her little group a couple of feet from David. She had always stayed separate from the group a little bit so it shouldn't really have been noticed by anyone.

Nicholas listened intently as Alex spoke, looking at him and analyzing every word. Alex took to cowering behind his father and that's when he chose to look away and at the incoming group consisting of Ada, Nikita, and Eri. He sympathized with them now, knowing what it was like to have a friend fall into the clutched of the virus. However, deep down, being a more optimistic person in comparison with his sister, he didn't really believe Mizuki was gone from them forever. He couldn't really explain it to himself, nonetheless if someone asked him. So he didn't bother explaining.
But, Kalila didn't even care to look at Alex as he spoke. She was trying to relax herself mentally. She was suddenly feeling very tired, yet trying to maintain her hidden guard. Mizuki being infected was just as tragic as the world could get right now for her, at least without Nicholas being taken from her. However as sad thoughts worked, she only remembered more pessimistic things. She was reminded of her parents. Either they were hulled up inside of their apartment, somehow, with the help of God, still surviving, killed and eaten, or one of the many infected now. All I have is Nicho if all that is true... Mizuki's gone... Mommy and daddy are most likely gone. What can po- Kalila's thoughts were cut off as she felt a hand on her shoulder. Her first response was to slice with everything she had and her second response, which luckily killed off the first one, was that it was Nicholas. She turned around and looked up a little bit, as she would to see Nicholas's face, however was met with a broad chest. She looked higher to David. She listened to him and really did let the tears fall over this time. She actually started to sob and then whimper. "Everything’s falling apart..." she said in a high pitched whisper. "Thank you, sir..." She finally said after a while. David walked off, She figured, because he couldn't take the emotions she was radiating right now. However, the empty space was quickly taken up by Alex, who gave her a soothing hug. Kalila sobbed into his shoulder. I have people left... I do. It's just so hard to see though. she thought as he left her as well, she figured, for the same reason as his father. The space was taken up again by her little brother.

"It's ok Kali... Everythings going to be fine. Mizuki's going to be ok." he confessed his baseless theory to her. It's ok... She's delusional with depression. She won't much buy into what I'm saying. he thought. He was right, for Kalila only soaked his shoulder at the moment. He lifted her up from his shoulder and looked down at her face. "Get a hold of yourself woman! A boy's not worth losin' your life over!" he said wiping the tears from her face. Kalila went on to wiping her own tears, turning away from her brother and walking off a bit ahead of the group. In a cashier's booth she took off her backpack and set it under the scanning area. Nicholas quickly caught up and did the same.
"It's better to be light on our feet..." Kalila said in a watery voice. "Take as much ammo as you can in your pockets Nicho... You can always come back here for more." She said, her eyes down cast the whole time.
"Yeah... Good idea." He said as he quickly, unzipped the bag, and filled his black jeans’ pockets. He was wearing cargo pants with deep pockets, so he had to fill up three pairs of huge pockets. As he filled his pockets when a loud bellow echoed through the entire store. Nicholas quickly stood up and held his gun, feeling more confident now that he was a good amount of weight lighter. Kalila let out a renewed round of sobs. She had immediately recognized the sound as Mizuki. It didn't sound human at all, the noise, but it sounded completely of Mizuki's vocal chords. Nicholas quickly pulled his sister up to stand with one hand latched on to the collar area of her blood-ridden, worn, once-gorgeous dress. When she was at a complete stand, he quickly slapped her hard across the face. "What the f*ck did I just say about getting a hold of yourself!?" he barked. Kalila grabbed her cheek with the hand not holding the katana and looked at Nicholas with complete surprise. Exactly two seconds later her face shifted to angry. She held her Katana with both hands and pushed past her brother. This was when being an emotional person was bad for Kalila.

Ada held her pistols at the ready when the growl emanated from the deep confines of the super store. Nikita went ahead of her and Eri, running his hand though his long hair to get it out of his face. He held his gun poised to shoot from the hip, the quickest shot, though it lacked aim. He figured if they were attacked, there wouldn't be much need for aim because all there was... Was the front. Neither cousin had seen Eri go for her own blood. They were thinking more about protecting everyone, even David, though they didn't like him much. Eri had grabbed Ada's arm, pulling one of her guns down a little. Ada quickly looked down at the young girl in worry, she figured it had something to do with her injury as she hissed and apologized. Her eyes were drawn instead to her jacket's sleeve. Blood was on it. Her eyes widen for three seconds and she thanked her luck for her jacket. It cut down the risk of being infected. She mumbled for the girl to patch up the wound, not only for her safety, but also for the safety of others so they aren’t infected. Ada looked around and pointed at the clothing section that was near them. She told Eri to wrap up her hand with something from there. It was the safest thing, it was within eye's view, extremely close. There wasn't a possibility of injury because everyone could see her from his or her angle. They could all protect her.

If ever Eri was attacked by Mizuki, the first thing the cousins would shoot at was Mizuki. They wanted to protect her. They figured Mizuki was already gone beyond saving. The siblings on the other hand would not intervene at all. Kalila, blinded by her emotions, might actually shoot at Eri, but it was doubtful, due to her true nature and natural motherly disposition. Nicholas wouldn't shoot at all, figuring it was a lose-lose situation either way
((Just for clarification)).

Kalila joined the rest of the group, but she stood ahead of everyone. Nicholas quickly caught up and stood more with David. She stood in front because she had to prove to her brother that she could still handle herself. She was miserable, but she could handle herself. She could fight to protect them all. She would just hesitate when it came to Mizuki and couldn't much help that, even if she wanted to. It was her nature. Neither sibling paid any attention to the conversation going on between Eri and Alex. However, the topic of scents caught both of their ears. They had noticed Mizuki's reactions to smells being a little off in comparison with the rest of them. It just seemed to click into place. The information sounded perfect, lick it completed a puzzle. Kalila, however, acted as if she didn't hold interest. She held the information to herself. Nicholas, on the other hand, looked up at David to see his reaction to what Eri said. He smirked, Good... We know how to utilize zombie body language now. When they start sniffing... You better be prepared for something... Anything.
"Once... Once we clear this place out of zombies. We have to start running water into containers. The water might shut off in a few days... In which case we better be prepared." Kalila informed everyone. Her voice was still watery like someone who was crying, but there was a hard edge in her voice. She had remembered the information from Nina's sharings when everything was peaceful. It was a joke, but it was fun to play along at the time. How wrong I was... Kalila thought blinking her vision clear.

Ada watched wearily as Eri spoke with Alex. She thought she was saying too much, tempting David to experiment on her. She thought the girl should have thought things through a little more before doing them, but then stopped herself. The young woman reminded herself that Eri was only 13. She didn't know Eri didn't fear David any.
It was an incredibly sad fate for someone so young...
Nikita took the flu medicine out of his pocket and set it on a nearby shelf. He didn't need it anymore, there was plenty of medicine everywhere within the premises. Plus, when he ran, the box would hinder his legs a little. He thought he'd take his wallet out while he was at it. So he did and set it next to the medicine. A picture of Angelina Jolie stuck a little bit out of the top of his wallet. It brought a slight smile to his face to see such normal things. But the smile disappeared as soon as it came. The muscles in his face moving to smile reminded him of what situation they were in so he went back to getting ready to protect everyone.

Kalila walked even further ahead of the group and looked down an isle way of food. She flinched at what she saw and then spasmmed where she stood for a few moments at what it was she saw completely registered. She jerked her face away from looking at the devastation. Kalila took slow, shaky footsteps backwards. The taps of her Mary Janes on the floor sounded extremely loud to her. In the middle of the isle way were two corpses, one a girl (You could tell by the long hair) and one a boy. They were completely human, non-infected. They lay sprawled on the floor, completely hollowed out of muscle and some inner organs from the mid-section. They still had their skin, just ripped in many areas. Blood soaked the entire centers of the isle, as if there had been an explosion. The facial expressions of the people were still seen perfectly. The female read pain and the male read fear. It seemed these were left to be eaten a little bit later, though Kalila did not know of this.
Kalila had reacted so violently because she hadn't seen the brutality on Humans, just their fellow infected. She'd seen them picked completely dry, to the bone, however. She hadn't seen such fresh gore anywhere, especially in the lovely lit facilities of Walmart. The sheer mutilation, yet intactness of the corpses stuck to Kalila's retinas. She ran back to the group, who were only 10 feet away from her and would have surely seen her reaction. She sheathed her katana and held the low, leg spread stance of a quick strike straight from the sheath. She could get most power in that kind of attack, as well as a good speed.
"W-What hap-p-pened?" Nicholas asked, his surprise at Kalila's reaction echoing in his voice.
"It's bad..." was all Kalila managed. Her face was shifting back and forth from worry to sadness to determination. She felt broken. It was just too much stimuli for her emotions and mind.

[[Btw I'm in the arena]]

Thomas was not aware of how close Nina was to the window when he climbed in. He really hadn't even looked around.

Thomas barely made it throgh the window before Nina started giving more orders.

He was going to rush her into getting everybody together anyway, so who's complaining.

"Nina I hate to cut into your conversation, but did you hear that loud a** groan a few minutes ago?"

Thomas leaned on the window, looking into the distance, and eventually closing his eyes. He was tired, he needed rest. But it would be several hours now before that happened.

"Whatever it was, it didn't sound friendly, so I think it would be best if we left within the next 15 minutes..."

Thomas sighed and pulled his body up.

"I'll help gather supplies"

Thomas turned and glanced at the Serge, using his face's body language, he made it clear that it was time to go and that the Serge make any preparations needed

"Where do I start?"

[[Warning, my timing is probably a little off.
Also: I KNOW, I LOVE MY SIG TOO!]]

David flinched at Nicholas's comment about Mizuki not worth dieing over. "On the contrary. True love is worth dieing for Nicholas." David said, trying to hide all emotions, I would risk my life for my wife's any day. He thought. David looked at Nikita and Ada. They were still staying away from David. I realize they're worried about Eri, but still, I'm no threat... David thought, he didn't blame them though. The key piece of information they were missing was that, all the tests he did on the infected were extremely humane, because the infected he had to test on were two of his closest friends. They had accidentally gotten infected while bringing the test sample of the virus to the lab. When the roar came he was pretty sure it was Mizuki. When Nicholas tried to get ahold of Kalila, David said, "What did I just say about true love?" After Nicholas just shook it off, David felt sorry for Kalila, he went back over to her, saying, "Don't worry... Mizuki will be fine." David had the same hunch as Nicholas. David was suprised by how long the virus had incubated inside mizuki before coming out, he knew that mizuki was gonna be fine.
Alex just stood there looking between Eri, his dad, and nicholas after she mentioned the scents. "Did I miss something?" He asked looking back at Eri. Her face was still a little red, so he kinda put his hand against her forehead to see if she had somesort of fever. Afterall his dad did have a medical degree, and he had talked about this sorta stuff many times. However he had forgotten she was infected, and was welcomed by her abnormally cold skin. "Jeez your freezing..." He said, realizing it was probably normal for an infected... Although he had never gotten close enough to feel one. Alex turned around and walked slightly away, but then Kalila said they should lighten their load. "Good idea!" Alex said, dropping his pack, sticking his Smith & Wesson, and about 30 bullets in his pocket, and making sure his wakizashi was strapped securely to his waste. "Done." He said, propping his sniper against the wall.
David too thought that this was a good idea. He took of his backpack, hooked his dagger to one side of his pants, and one of his uzies to the other side. He stuck a couple of clips in each of his jean's pockets, leaving the other uzie on top of his pack. He kept his cellphone with him, not thinking rationally, he figured if his wife called back he would answer. Then he heard Kalila, he walked out, and looked down the aisle she had. His eyes widened, however his reaction wasn't as severe a Kalila's. He had seen plenty of bodies, even disected a few, but never children. Remembering the cellphone he thought to himself, After we find Mizuki... No matter what happens, I have to check that call.

Eri looked at the clothing section Ada pointed to. "Um... Alright..." She said, walking up to the clothing section, finding a bandanna and ripping it like paper, wrapping her hand. She felt sorry for Kalila. She knew how it was to not know if someone was alive or...well... you get the point. She had friends in school, and she missed them so much. she was 100% sure they were dead, and it hurt. She watched people comfort Kalila and smiled. 'I shouldn't touch her... She'll get sick..' She thought, rejoining the group and looking around.

Eri blinked at the sudden contact with her forehead. Her face went a deep red[as deep as it can get with her current complexion...]. 'Not again..' She Watched him pull his hand away and he walked away. She sighed, a sense of disappointment on her face. She wanted to go see what everyone was afraid of, so she lightly tugged at Ada's Jacket. She had nothing too heavy on her, so she disregarded the request to drop some access weight. She looked at Alex, not noticing the fact she was staring at him. ".." She smiled and walked up to him. 'Maybe I should try to gain more trust with the people around me.' She tapped his shoulder delicately. "Hey..." She said, looking around then back to him. "What did you used to do... um.. before all of this...?" She was trying to make a calm atmosphere, since so far the only scent that frightened her was Mizuki's. "I used to be in college..." She smiled sadly. "I was in my last year." She kept her guard, but gave out a relaxed look. "You...?"

[Ho's**t. I am well behind like. I have already thought of how I am gunna have Mizuki join up with the group. Just for a complete mind ******** XD! Please bare with me for one more monologue post and then i'll have him return <3]

Mizuki walked swiftly. Now he was crouched low. His face was stoic, but his breathing had slowed. His movements were crafty and predatorial, making a concious effort to make as little noise as possible. Mizuki was not alone in this trait. Whilst the majority of Crazies were lumbering and blinded by Rage and Hate - there were more focused strands. These tended to affect mostly the younger generation of Crazie - the children and young adolescents. If Eri turned. She's be this way. The younger the Crazie, the more it maintained some form learning capability. The younger it was, the clearer the Murder Message incripted by the Virus was - unfogged by the stronger sense of confusion and Hate that plagued the adult mind. When Eri turned - she would would be able to think in a vaguely rational manner- a hunter.
By all rights, this should not have been so clear with Mizuki. He was after all, 19 years old, the plagues and disfunctions that affected the virus in adult hood should have also complied to him. But Mizuki had contracted the Virus early. It had had time to perfect itself within its host. Biological abnormalities within Mizuki had affected the growth pattern of the Virus - inhibiting it's all out control, but allowing it to graft itself permanently to his DNA. As Mizuki sifted through the isles, silent as the grave, mind set and sense open, he wasn't so much an infected host - as one with the paracite.

He slowed, crouching so low that the gun that hung loose and forgotten at his hip scraped the floor. Mizuki jumped and spun on heel ready to lunge at the thing behind him. But when he saw the gun on the floor, he became disinterested and made to move away - only to find it moved with him. Frowning darkly, he made to push it away. The strap around his chest tightened and he grunted. He pulled loosely on the strap and watched the gun move closer to him across the tiles. He grinned again. That strange almost childish grin of discovery and stood straight, watching the gun rise with him. He grinned wider and let out the same high pitched trill of pleasure as he had with the discovery of the workings of the mask. But rather than acknowledging the gun for what it was - an offensive weapon. Mizuki merely acknowledged it to be some new and exciting limb that he hadn't before noticed.
There was the sound of confusion near by. Followed by another strong blast of fear. Mizuki's smile slipped, his face becoming blank and focused - his eyes behind his goggled opened almost impossibly wide. He could hear words being spoken - but did not recognise them as words. Instead he recognised the more basic elements of speech. He could pick out the strange lilt of sound that indicated anxiety. His heart beat that slight bit faster, but his breathing slowed so much that it seemed that he wasn't breathing at all.
Sniffing the air he became aware of three presences. There was one predominant one. This one was deeper than the others - and had a strong, dominant reek of masculinity about it. Whilst Mizuki didn't fully register that it was male, he did on some levels recognise the difference between the scents men and women gave off. This masculine voice was to most sure and assertive one. The stench he gave off was that of aggression rather than fear, and Mizuki knew immediately that if he was to get to the others - this one must first be taken down.

He was in the camping section of the Mart. On all sides he was surrounded by vast displays of camping equipment. There was a rack of canoes near by and many isles boasting flasks, hats, energy bars, boots, gloves and much more. These items meant nothing to Mizuki. All he was concerned about were the three prey that were lurking near by - behind a thing sheet of bright orange convas. Though Mizuki couldn't see in colour, the strange shade of grey of the tent was made very seperate to the dark fake turf around it - and the near white backdrop of sky. His eyesight was poor, but from where he was - he could see sillouettes moving around behind that thin layer of fabric. He could smell the fear from the other two. He shuffled closer - now only a rack of portable gas cookers and water purifiers seperating them. This close, he could hear the other two's voices in more clarity. Both feminine. One of them extremely young. Easy prey. Easy food. But the dominant one would provide sufficient challenge and fight to keep the more animalistic side of Mizuki's urges sated- before he ate.
One of the other two, the younger one, let out a high pitched whine of strong and almost depserate disagreement and Mizuki pulled right back out of sight as the masculine figure left the tent. Peering silently round the far edge of the display, Mizuki watched with strong intrigue as the figure turned and fiddled with something. Then, pulling up, sealed the open sides of fabric together - shutting the two figures inside.

The man hefted a strange metal contraption that Mizuki vaguely recognised as being similar to the one that was attatched to him - not that Mizuki knew what metal was. Once again, he simply registered this as being a limb. Nothing too offensive. As Mizuki stared intently, now begining to salivate, the figure called out. His vocal tone was strong and demanding. The creature waved the strange metal contraption in a threatening manner. This confused Mizuki but he paid no heed. His attention now focused on luring the creature away from the other two.
He ran in a swift low crouch along the rack, keeping out of sight. Once at the end, he purposefully created a noise. A slight grunt.
The figure shouted again, hefting the alien limb, and began to cautiously approach. As he did so, he poured a torrent of indistinct babble. He now stunk of aggression. Mizuki moved quickly, round the edge of the rack of canoes and backed away into the sports section. Here he hid behind a rack of wetsuits. Sniffing the air intently, he marked the approach of the figure by the steady strengthening of his smell. When he deemed the creature an appropriate distance away - Mizuki rattled the wetsuits, making a noise to grab attention. There was a shout of shock - and a horrid, bone shuddering bang. The sheer volume of the sound was enough to make Mizuki momentarily hit the deck, snarling and clutching his ears, kicking the ground angrily and aimlessly in momentary spasms. As he fell, he watched the wetsuits where he had just been standing explode They were whipped up in some sudden and powerful wind - tatters of fabric whirrling in the air above him. Mizuki, recognising the danger, though not fully understanding it, hastened to his feet and darted behind another rack. The creature was shouting angrily now - fear begining to edge into his voice. Mizuki peered around the edge of the rack far too soon - and locked eyes with the creature who was stood a mere few meters away. It caught sight of him immediately and yelled in shock, raising the strange limb. Mizuki, confused by it, stared at it for a moment too long. As the sound, another deafening crack sounded he once more screeched and fell backwards to the floor, out of side. But not before something sharp and fast moving clipped the side of his head. Miraculously it only grazed the skin, but ripped right through the goggles strap. The goggles fell to the floor as Mizuki picked himself up and ran - disappearing just around the corner as a third bullet struck the place he had just been sprawled upon.
Mizuki was begining to understand that the strange thing the creature was holding held some destructiv power. Though Mizuki didn't understand or acknowledge the existance of bullets - the strong and blunt sound enough was an offensive weapon - devastating in such close range to his acute hearing. His head throbbed with pulsating pains as he ducked behind a rack three isles away.
The prey approached slowly, his head roaving, seeking him. It was clear he had not idea where Mizuki lay in hiding. Getting a hold of himself, recovering from the shock of moments before, Mizuki watched the man carefully. Then, with a momentary and perhaps frightening display of intellegence, he picked up a can of surf wax from the shelving by his head . . .and rolled it gently out into the open.

The creature saw it - and went for the bait. Strange weapon raised, he began to enclose on the isle where the sound had come from. Mizuki - however had moved. And was currently curcling back.
Mizuki moved silently and swiftly - distinguishing all his scents completely, breathing in the waves of fear coming from the creature in steady waves. A thin line of spittle ran down his blood smeared chin as he closed in on the man's turned back. So engrossed in attempting to sneak up on Mizuki's previous posistion - the man did not notice until it was too late.
A shot echoed around the mall, followed briefly by a sharp, pained scream that was swiftly cut off by a sickening gargle.

Back in the tent, a small girl of around six years old clung desperately to her mother, her face buried in her chest. She shook terribly and tried to block out the sounds around her - but failed. She was listening. She couldn't help it - she needed to know so badly.
She was shaking terribly, her mother no better. The clung to eachother in a mixture of love and terror as each listened reluctantly for sounds of their loved one.
As the scream sounded, they both held eachother so tight that for a short moment - neither of them could breathe. For the first time since they had come here - the flimsy tent felt just like that. These previous nights, that thin layer of bright, cheerful orange fabric had been like a barrier of sanctuary in the small girls mind. Now - with her loved one out there on his own, with the sounds of shots and screams echoing around them - it didn't feel safe in the slightest.
"It won't be him." Her mother cooed gently. But even now the girl could feel the steady patter of teardrops falling on the crown of her head. "He'll be fine. You just watch. He'll be back in a minute with a fresh packet of cookies and some juice."
The girl allowed her mother to stroke her hair. She allowed her mother to cling to her in desperation disguised and comfort as her mature body racked with silent sobs. But as dark as the current situation seemed - her childish, hopeful naievity granted her respite from the misery that was currently savaging her mother. He wouldn't be dead - he was too important to die. He'd be back in a few moments time, that same wonky grin on his face. He'd tell her that there'd been some pretty big rats out there - and he'd hand her a packet of chocolate chip cookies. And they'd all laugh - as she told him off for the hundredth time. It'd been six whole years - and he still couldn't remember that her favourite cookie was apple and raisin.
The minutes slipped by like hours before there was the sound of footsteps outside. Her mother - who had silently cried herself into a numb trance suddenly went rigid. For a moment, the dellusions that had been keeping the girl going snapped out of sight and were replaced by solid fear.
The footsteps got closer, and she felt her control on her bladder weaken just a little bit. Her mouth went dry with fear and her stomach churned. A shadow stretched up the canvas of the tent. Like an evil omen. She grit her teeth to stop herself wetting in fear. Then, as the figure closed in, and the shadow became less distorted - the girls eyes were drawn to the sillouette of a gun hanging at its hip. A smile split her face and her naive dellusions once more came back in full force.
"Dad?" She said. She had meant to be louder, but all that left her was a hoarse whisper. Her mother was still tense behind her.
"Dad?" She called again.
The figure stopped just outside the tent and she filled with a jubiliance and certainty as there was the sound of a zip feeling fumbled with on the other side.
Then the canvas fluttered slightly under the pressure of a deep exhalation of breath - that carried with it the rancid smell of hot blood.
The zip drew upwards and in place of her father's face - was a fresh one. With wide yellowed eyes and thick black hair. His lower face was plastered with blood, and on his lips was a large twisted smile - teeth yellowed and smeared with gore.
Neither of them could find the breath to scream. The girls control on her own bladder fled her as the creature before them calmly pulled the zipper closed - blocking off the world forever.

[[@ Metzli, You should be a scary book author! I enjoyed it very much biggrin ]]

David looked at Eri, in an inquisitive way, College? He thought. Hehe, Alex hooked him a smart one. He continued to himself, chuckling.
Alex looked at Eri. "Aren't you a little young for college?" Alex asked, mirroring his dad's thoughts. He waited and listend to her answer. "Oh... Well I was just in highschool. I went to the same highschool as Kalila and Nina. Which is where I met them. My dad's parents are rich, so I lived quite comfortably, and my mom's parents... Well, I never met them." He said, realizing his Nanna never actually wanted him to meet his mom's parents.
Ya, my parents never liked Sarah's too much. He thought to himself, jumping at the sound of gunshots. "Well I'll be damned, there are other people in her... well.. were other people in here..." David stated, blinking. "We should probably go look, before everyone in here dies..." David said, looking around to everyone.
Alex shook his head in agreement. Although he didn't move to the outskirts of the group, he followed his dad, subconciously staying more on the inside with Eri.

[[Kagome can you double check my info about the highschool?]]

[I always like making it clear that Eri's still a kid, even with this virus...]
Eri looked around quickly when the gunshot was heard, and her [not bleeding]hand automatically held on to Alex's arm. "..." She looked at what she did and her face flushed again, her gold eyes staring at the grip. She wasn't holding on tight, but she had the grip if a girl who was watching a scary movie with her boyfriend. She let go and put her hand in her pocket. "Okay..." She said, changing the subject. "Wonder who was unfortunate enough to run into M--" She stopped, then looked at Kalila and coughed. "--an infected." She finished, looking down. She didn't want to make Kalila feel hurt, and she didn't want to make them all jumpy. She looked at Ada. She mouthed 'I'm sorry...' then walked up to David. "David, is this wrapped properly...?" She asked, holding up her hand. She kept it at a slight distance as not to offend him. She knew her blood smelled. Really bad. She looked at Alex.

'Oh my god did he think I stank?!'

She became a bright shade of red as she looked away from Alex again. 'Dang it stop blushing...!' She looked at David. "W..W-well...? Is it okay...?" She knew it was bad, but she wanted to ask anyway. She didn't want Ada and him on bad terms, so she tried to make it more calm. "I think it's a work of art..!" She said childishly, blushing at the giggle that came from her. She smiled, her smile showing her embarrassment. She looked to Kalila. Hopefully she will feel better.... Eri's always felt bad when people became upset...

Alex jumped slightly, feeling the sudden grip on his arm, he turned around, expecting to see an infected getting ready to take a big chunk out of his arm. Instead he saw Eri. He smiled at her, then she stuck her hands in her pockets, looked away and started talking. Alex glanced at Kalila when she almost mentioned Mizuki. He didn't get a good look at her however. Alex was getting tired, in one of the worst possible moments. Alex noticed Eri looking at him, he looked back and smiled. He didn't think she stank... after all everyone here, including him, was covered in blood, rotting meat, ect. The reason this didn't stink is because he had gotten moderatly used to the smell... which was relatively creepy.
David looked at Eri, who asked him about the bandage. He noticed she was embaressed about something, however he had not seen her grab his son's arm. So he didn't know what. He grabbed her wrist, not forcefully, just to steady it, looking at the bandage. "It'll do for now, but I'll fix it up when I look at your foot." He said, releasing her wrist, and patting her on the shoulder. He leaned up, looking out into the rest of the store. David was starting to realize just how tired he was too. He had been awake longer then anyone here, however he had taken a short nap where they found Ada. But all together now he had probably been awake for pretty close to 48 hours. And it was just now taking its toll.

Eri noticed how Alex smiled at her. She liked it, but she had to focus. She smelled fresh blood and she began to worry. She made a light fist, careful not to re injure herself. She thanked David and smiled. She saw the fatigued look on their faces. 'Come to think of it... they haven't....' She asked Alex if he was okay. She seemed clingy, but besides Nicholas, he was the only one who was around her age. With no response, she put her hand over her mouth and went next to his ear. "Alex, are you OK??" she said, looking at him for a response. "How long has it been since you last slept...?" She looked at Ada and Nikita, then the others. "If I'm right, most of you haven't slept for days...." She said. "I haven't slept since yesterday..." She said, smiling with concern. Talking should keep him awake right? If He wasn't alert and there was an attack....

"Huh...?"

Then she smelled it. A hostile scent emanating from far off... She used her hand to grab Alex's and she looked around with a panicked expression. Apparently an infected found us to be a tasty snack. She was gripping Alex's hand, but not enough to hurt him. She looked back at Ada. "There's trouble..." She said, looking around. 'Where is it?!' She thought, her mind racing. It was not hiding Mizuki's hostile scent, but it was almost matching it. She looked at David. "David... Be on guard..." She looked towards a sudden noise. 'Who... Is it Mizuki..? But Mizuki is...' She looked at Alex, then back to the place where the noise came from. 'How can I protect them when I have no idea who it is..?!'

[[I think we should wait untill Kagome and Metzli post before we post again... Well, you can post, but I'm gonna wait for Kagome and Metzli.]]

Alex heard a voice, although he was half asleep, and couldn't make it out. Then he heard it louder a second time.... much louder. He fell over from the shock of being forced awake. He scratched the side of his face and yawned, "Ya, I'm fine." He looked at Eri, then looked up at the ceiling. "Uhhh... I think I had a short nap a while back... I do beleive it was before I met you, Ada or Nikita." He said moving his eyes back towards her. "Well actually, dad had a nap too, when we found you guys... but it was for maybe 5 minutes tops." He looked at Eri with slight concern. But... she doesn't even look tired... He thought. The virus must have something to do with it. He continued in his own mind.
David smiled, his son got tired easier then he did. David could probably go another two or three days without sleep, but then he'd crash, and would be completely useless for about two days. "Not counting that short nap, I've been awake for about two full days now." He said, still keeping as alert as possible for infected. David thought he heard some movment.
Alex gave a questioning look to Eri, whose head was looking around like a threatend chipmunk of somesort. Along with the rapid movement of her head, her grip on his hands tightened. "What is it?" He asked her, but she gave her answer, still flailing her head around. Then she told David to be on guard. He showed he oblidged by holding his dagger in one hand, and his uzie in the other. Eri looked at Alex, then out into the Mall. When Alex looked into her eyes, she was afraid.
David looked out into the mall as well, waiting for whoever was out there, Mizuki or not to show themself.
Alex was still looking at Eri, who was still scared. He put his hands on either side of her head. Making sure he was able to keep her head still, but not covering her ears, so she'd be able to hear him. "Calm down!" He said, emphasizing both words. "Don't worry everythings going to be fine, trust me." He continued, letting his hands slip from the side of her head, to her shoulders. He let out a smile, this smile was one of the things he had inherited from his dad.
Wow... David thought, looking at them. When did Alex get so confindent. He asked himself, looking back out into the store. David chuckled lightly, He really is a chip off the old block.
