Kojiro put the painting of Doji Kita back into Shusui's travelling pack and examined the knife, if Denbe let him. The Scorpion racked his brain trying to figure out whether anyone in Rokugan's past had used a dagger like that in any of the millions of battles in the Empire's history.

Denbe, you learn nothing about the weapon upon reflecting.
Kojiro, you think of military uses for such a weapon - and while it is almost customary for most samurai to keep a tanto with them, both for personal reasons and for self defense, this is not your average tanto. You highly suspect there has never been any military uses for such a weapon. It seems almost too ornamental to be used vigorously in such a setting.
What now, samurai? If this is now a waiting game, what are you doing to pass the time?
Remember, I am keeping track of rations.

Kojiro would relate his insights to the rest of the party and then hunker down, pending a better idea. He would give a ration to Kagae if he wanted one and then eat one of his rations.

Without ideas from the others, Denbe was feeling frustrated and at a dead end. There simply wasn't much else to do but to wait, restore their things, and hold tight, unless the Crab had some ideas for more they could do to prepare for a potential attack besides keeping watch. While it was still light out he would see to scrounging a bit just in case there was any signs of food supplies in the place, but he suspected he'd find little.

[Denbe will eat one day's of rations if he does not scrounge up food to use instead.]

Upon arriving back at their... base of operations? (that was a depressing thought), the mess that awaited them was quite unpleasant. While the others examined the strange weapon, Masuyo immediately set about gathering and organizing their things. Taking stalk of her own belongings, she was amazed to find nothing missing. When she returned to find everyone discussing what to do from here, she actually did have something to contribute.
"If we really must stay in this dreadful place another night, perhaps the Kami can help us be more prepared for what awaits."
With that she removed a scroll from her pouch, moved off to the side, and began that familiar prayer once again.

Kojiro hunkers down and simply waits, for a lack of anything better to do!
Denbe wanders in hopes of finding food or water. Being an abandoned city that's centuries old, food wasn't really an option - not even if he was a Unicorn samurai. However, water was a different story. Denbe would find a well without much difficulty, definitely with water inside it if he investigated. Though the wheel that fed the bucket was lacking a rope, as it kind of disintegrated over the centuries (the bucket is also AWOL). He wound also find a dried-up spring not far from the castle.
Kagae would wander off on MYSTERIIIOOOUUSSS solo adventures! If left to his own devices, he will not return until some time after nightfall.
Masuyo would call for the air kami to speak with her, and before long, one would indeed show up, an ethereal zephyr speaking aloud into her mind. "Oh! Hello there! How can I help you? I haven't met you before! Hello!"
