Eri was actually less affected than Mizuki.... or at least she thought she was. The only disadvantage was that she had no mask to hide her expressions. She smiled and looked at the far away Infected. She hid her grin from Nikita and Ada. She was near kalila and Nicholas when She realized how she was asking and gasped, letting go of Ada's hand, looking down beginning to fear her own personality. "..." She looked at Ada. "I'm sorry for hurting you.." She said, bowing. "I'm so sorry..." She was near tears, not of sadness, but of fear. She was sorry to mizuki, and Ada, and Nikita, and everyone..! 'I don't want to live anymore... but I'm scared!' She felt a sharp pinch from a shard of glass and yelled loudly, catching the attention of the infected. "Oh god..."

[[just a short little add on]]
David flinched and lifted his gun at the sharp yelp. He thought maybe he had overlooked an infected, and now it was close. He found that the sound came from Eri. David lowered his gun, sighing. Then he heard an infected roar. Crap... He thought, Looks like I overlooked a few.
Alex was hiding in the bush, looking out occasionally to see if it was safe. He would trust Nicholas and Kalia's judgement over his dad's in most, if not all situations. Alex looked back out, this time, just like his dad, he flinched, pointing his gun towards the sharp, high pitch squeel. He nearly pulled the trigger, not at a good distance to tell Eri from the infected. Then he too heard a loud roar of the infected. HA, told you dad. He thought, trying to find where it came from. Where is it...? He asked himself. WHERE IS IT?!?! He asked himself again getting more frustrated.
David too was looking around for the infected, but unlike his son he was keeping his cool. He heard the roar again, exept this time he was more capable of pin-pointing it. He looked more towards Wal-Mart. Up until now he was looking around the store, but this time he heard the sound come from its general direction. David kept looking, hoping that Kalila and Nicholas were doing the same. He found it! He tapped them on the shoulder, then said to them in a low voice, "The roof." pointing towards Wal-Mart. Indeed there was an infected on the roof. Whether it was the one who let out the roars was yet to be discovered though. Why doesn't that suprise me... after all going to a huge store during a zombie invasion is the first thing that comes to people's minds. He thought. "We'll have to be carefull when entering Wal-Mart." He said in a very serious voice, although he was pretty sure they knew. "Studying those things, we haven't found a cure yet, so if you get infected, I am sorry, but I will have to kill you." He continued, not caring that he had told Kalila and Nicholas that he studied the infected, he was fairly certain he already had, But now Nikita, Ada, and Eri knew.
Alex noticed his dad point towards the Wal-Mart. Is it inside... no the roar was too clear for that. Then Alex noticed movement on the roof. It was on the roof... well one of them was, just like his dad, he had realized this might not be the closest one.

[[ok not as short as I had hoped... but I really get into this stuff.]]
[[[No offence, Ahiru Takashi, you really need to go into more detail. not that your posts are bad, they're just no fun to read.]]]

Mizuki heard every syllable Eri uttered. Of course he did. His hearing was dramatically improved anyway - but reached all new heights as he began to revert back into the virus.
A few months prior, when Mizuki had first caught the virus in its elementary stages of evolution, he had seen this new improvement in his senses of smell and hearing as something awesome!
It was however, at times like this, that he knew they would only inevitably serve him by helping him to find and kill his friends. . .
Mizuki had to hold himself in check harder than ever. Every sinew in his body screamed at him to attack Eri. Fling himself upon her and go truelly ******** Crazy - show her what exactly an infected could do. Mutilate her weak little form in ways even the most demented Horror Fanatic wouldn't even dare to dream. After all, his secret was out, what else did he have to loose?
. . . A whole ******** lot. . .

Unlike Eri, infected the the fully evolved strain of the virus, Mizuki would recover. He would revert fully back into the mind set of an infected. He would follow the biological code to fight, feed, kill and repeat. Then, when these ID driven urges were sated, he would recover. He would be weak and sickly, but he would reach equilibrium and return to a 'normal' state. He would recover, strengthen himself and continue evading the Turn by eating and calming himself. But inevitably, his reserves would break and the cycle would repeat itself.
But try explaining that to the rest of the group. . .
Ever since the Crisis began, it was written in stone that there was no cure to the Virus. It broke down the immune system, it attacked the nerves in the brain and encoded itself to the host like a paracite. It was irreversible.
If Mizuki prooved to the group just how ******** Crazie he was by butchering Eri, how would he convince them that he would be fine? That's if they gave him a chance to speak. Liklihood would be that he'd find numerous bullets through his brain before he could so much as draw breath.
If he tried to plead his case to them, he would appear to them to be yet another unfortunate and doomed statistic, begging for his last remaining hours of life, before turning on those that showed him mercy. His best bet would be to deny everything and seek them all when he had reached his slum and reverted back. After all, the infected didn't come back to normal did they?
And there was evidentally bad blood between Eri and Mizuki for reasons undisclosed. If Mizuki showed up in his right mind later and denied the charges, it would seem like a child's bitter attempts to sabotage someone she didn't like.
He leant hard against the wall, eyeing up the infected at the end of the road. Luckily they were downwind from the Crazies - and they were so tied up in thier own brawls that he guessed their long distance hearing would be barred off by the closer grunts and sounds of struggle around them. For the immediate time - they would be safe from them. But for how long?
More importantly - how long would they be safe from him?

Mizuki didn't register what the gun was for a few minutes. He was already becoming dumb to human knowledge. He focused on David speaking, but didn't manage to make sense of the sounds coming from him until halfway through the sentence.

" . . .go infected on us, I will have no problem lodging a bullet through your brain . . ." Mizuki had turned to David now. His eyes were very nearly blank. Blood was filling them, giving them a nasty tint of yellow, but the sunlight hitting the lens' of his goggles masked this.
"But, if I go infected... I want you to be the one to do me in."
Mizuki, deep down, was touched that David would have trusted him like this. He nodded his head slowly, his muscles seeming rusty and hard to work.
And with that David was gone.
Mizuki stood there, leaning heavily on the wall for a moment longer, slowly slipping into all out blankness.
The brawl further up the street he had been watching had moved out of sight as one side seemed to gain the advantage, pushing the others back. Mizuki, not fully aware he was doing so, took a dreamy step towards their direction, as if to follow.
But then a sharp yelp caught his ears.
Mizuki didn't register it was Eri. All he knew was that it was coming from the direction his friends had run in. The direction of Wall-Mart.
In his empty, drunkern state - the rising of one singular emotion hit him harder. Without other emotions to cloud it, it swiftly took charge of his thoughts and actions.
Concern.
He turned on heel, letting go of his gun, getting his arms pumping for extra speed.

He closed in on where his companions were with amazing speed. He raised his head and seemed to notice the Crazie standing on the roof. Incapable of rational thought by this stage- Mizuki simply added up the factors he knew and produced an answer.
The yelp - the Crazie.
The thing on the roof had threatened the well being of his friends. Therefore he would find it. And kill it.
Wordlessly he vaulted the car, sliding across the bonnet like someone in an action movie, landing without breaking his sprint. He ran without fear or caution across the empty road and threw himself against the door of the WallMart as if he expected it be locked.
As things happened, it was. An amatuer plank of wood had been nailed across it on the inside by someone at somepoint. But the speed Mizuki was going, coupled with the new uncanny strength that was steming from being infected, it snapped like a twig as he slammed into the door with great force, sending it flying open.
Mizuki dashed into the mart and up the center isle.

And then. . . .all thought processes died, like someone flicking off a switch.
Mizuki slowed into a saunter. He seemed uneffected by the sprint, not even having broken a sweat. He looked around dazed and his shoulders slumped. The bag straps slipped down his arms, and the bag fell from his back. He made no motion to stop it.
His breath came out in one long rattling stream. Beneath the goggles, his eyes were blank. No hint of a pupil existed and the whites were dyed yellow with blood. His skin paled and his posture became laxed and less human.
He lifted his head like an inquistive dog and sniffed. Then, seemingly attracted by something, he turned and ran off deeper into the labyrinth network of departments.

Mizuki wasn't Mizuki anymore.

[[hehe... Wow, first human, then attack dog, now infected... then eventually human again... That is rather creepy.]]
David fell over as he saw Mizuki slide over the car like something in an action movie. David shivered. Not because he was afraid, but because he had caught a glimse of Mizuki's eyes, they were blank. He had gone infected on them. But for some reason he didn't attack them. He must not be fully infected... Yet... David stood up, figuring if there were any infected any closer Mizuki would've already lured them out. "Damn, he's gone over the edge." David said, not caring now if Kalila realized he was infected. He watched Mizuki bash through a board covering the doors to Wal-Mart with ease. It wasn't this that tipped him off though. It was the way he was walking, it was loose and hunched over. As if he was immatating an old person.
Alex was startled by Mizuki's sudden transformation. He knew Mizuki was infected, but he had put it in the back of his mind, considering that the whole time he had known Mizuki, nothing had happened. Now the infection was showing it's true colors. Alex walked up to his dad, scared. He wasn't afraid of just any infected though. Now he had to fear Mizuki, one of the craftiest, and most stratigic people he knew. The main thing Alex wondered is, Did Mizuki take his intellegents with him?. Alex, unlike his dad, had never witnessed an infected transformation.

((Holy Crap! Things are getting crazy intense! Let cat and mouse start I suppose... heart ))

Kalila peaked out from behind the car to see Alex reading the message. He immediately jumped into a bush on the little islands in the middle of the parking lot, separating the parking lot into sections. Nicholas pulled his sister back behind the cover of the car and poked his head out to see.
"What's taking everyone so long? You think they ran into trouble?" Nicholas asked, looking back over his shoulder at his older sister. She frowned a little bit. There was one little issue with silencers: If anyone were in trouble, no one would know from a distance. There were no more warnings. Kalila shrugged. Nicholas looked back out when he saw David run into the area. Kalila, hearing the heavy foots falls looked out from the opposite side of the car.
"Where's Mizuki?" Kalila asked in an upset tone. As he walked towards them, Alex's hand shot out of the bushes on to David's leg. Kalila jumped in surprise at the level of David's scream. They had been talking to each other in such a quiet whispered, her ears weren't ready for it.
"What the hell?! Of course! It's freakin' David's fault for getting the attention of all the zombies... It freakin' always is." Nicholas growled quietly. He checked the ammo of his battle rifle and looked about the area for infected.
A few moments later, David walked over to them and told them rather bluntly how he thought what they were doing was apparently un-needed because he didn't see anything.
"What do you think you're doing Mr. Scientist!" Nicholas exclaimed, grabbing David closer to him by his shirt. "Are you trying to get us killed!"
"We heard a roar in that direction..." Kalila said a little calmer, she had a slightly look of depression in her eyes. She was upset that Mizuki wasn't here yet. She pointed on the right side of the road that ran perpendicular to the Walmart parking lot.

Ada listened to Eri apologize without looking down at her, she knew she had to stay aware of the surrounding area as Nikita was doing. She flexed her hand and grabbed her pocketed pistol to go back to dual wielding. She could hear the fear in the young girl's voice. Ada told her that it was okay and it wasn't her fault. It was nature, it was the virus and there wasn't really much anyone could do at the moment.
Nikita pushed his way ahead of the girls when they came to the road. He looked ahead and saw David bent on the side of a car, but he didn't see anyone else. He wondered where everyone was. He looked around once more. Eri's sudden scream prompted him to run forward. He pulled Ada with him, who, in turn, grabbed Eri's wrist as soon as she finished screaming. She held the young girl's sleeve more than her wrist. Holding the pistol didn't allow her to grab much.
A lone infected came running from the direction that, unknown to the three, Kalila had pointed in just prior. It was running at an incredible speed from a long distance away. As soon as it was in view, Ada noticed it had been highly decayed or injured. Its left arm was completely missing and it had a clean hole through the right side of its chest. It had probably been injured in battle with another group of infected and abandoned. When it had been alive, it had been a young black woman. It could still be seen, even though the decay, she had once been beautiful.
Ada ran fast, dragging Eri with her until she was equal with Nikita and she handed him the young girl's sleeve. She went out a little ways from the two, they were in the parking lot now, and shot it a couple of times, still running towards the Walmart. One bullet silently hit into the jaw and it immediately unhinged and dangled. another couple of bullets went into the forehead and thus into the brain. While the last few hit a cheekbone. Still in the process of running, the infected fell to its knees while still skidding forward. It's face shredded across the ground leaving a wash of dark reddish brown blood.
Ada joined the other two as Nikita collided against the car to halt his running. He wasn't the least out of breath, unlike Ada who was breathing a bit hard, but he was more tired then he normally was. He mumbled under his breath something about needing to smoke less weed. Ada leaned her back against the car asking the group what they should do.

Eri's little scream had made Kalila jump up and get into stance with her Katana, Mizu, in one fluid motion. Nicholas had got on his stomach and looked out in the direction from under the car. His sight came into contact with Eri. Nicholas narrowed his eyes, Maybe she finally became infected completely. However the next thing the siblings saw happen was the trio running as fast as they could towards their direction.
"What the-" Kalila started and then saw Ada look off in a direction. She followed the older woman's eyes and saw the infected. It was probably the fastest she'd seen an infected move. However, Ada took care of the situation quickly.
"Holy sh*t!" Kalila exclaimed as she watch the battle unfold and close at such a high speed. "That would have been the infected Nicho and I were taking about!" Kalila said, she sounded like she was in disbelief. The tone of her voice had been caused by the quick job Ada did. Not many people could keep such steady aim while running. Nicholas was thinking along the same lines, She's a beast! The cousins crashed into the vehicle, making it move on its poor shocks a little bit.
Before the siblings could think much more on the subject, a deep roar was heard from the opposite direction, in the direction of the Walmart. It was common sense that made Kalila's eyes go straight to the roof. Probably one of the cashiers that had stayed inside when we came here yesterday. Kalila thought. She couldn't believe it had only been two days for her dealing with this mess. It felt like it had been a week. I wonder how far the virus has spread from the last time we looked.
Nicholas quickly scurried out from under the car, hitting his head against the bottom in the process. He, after noticing his sisters view of sight and a few milliseconds later David poking him on the shoulder and verbally informing him, brought his gun up and looked at the area with his scope. For now, he didn't see anything. Must be in the middle area. Nicholas tuned out the rest of what David said, finding it unimportant and agreeing with his logic anyway. Rather be killed then live as one of those things anyway... Kalila nodded her head to David, understanding his point.

Ada was a bit horror struck when she heard David confess his studying of infected. Without really thinking, she put Eri behind her in a protective manner. Nikita on the other hand freely glared at David for a short period of time and looked to Eri. He wondered if he had known all along that Eri was infected. He had spoken to the others a couple times as well, it wouldn't have surprised him if everyone knew. He just regretted that their keeping it a secret was all for not. It also brought up the fact that David probably did know Mizuki was infected. He shook his head and bent to Eri's level. He whispered to her, very quietly as for the others not to hear, that they, meaning he and Ada, would keep her safe until she turned and they promised. A bit afterwards Mizuki came at full speed and Ada grabbed her cousin and Eri and pulled them out of the way, as he went over the car.

A few moments later, quick taps of footsteps were heard. The siblings looked towards them ready to attack ,but saw their friend instead. Mizuki came dashing across the road and parking lot. He slid across the hood of the car they all were near and smashed through the doorway. There was a load crack as, most likely, a board cracked behind the force of such a move. Kalila was ecstatic to see Mizuki, but the elation quickly turned into defensiveness as she figured he was being chased by something. However, when she saw nothing behind him and him pelt into the store she figured he meant to fight the infected.
"What the f*ck's wrong with him?!" Nicholas asked no one in particular, basically echoing Kalila's thoughts. the light from in the store poured out into the shaded parking lot. Kalila almost started going after him until Nicholas latched on to her wrist and David spoke.
"W-what?!" Kalila said staggering. "Are you implying that he's infected? Are you kidding me? He didn't even attack us!" But, even as she was saying this, a couple things were being made clear in her mind. Some of his reactions at times, what happened back at Nina's house, it made a lot of sense.
"That would answer a lot though... He's awesome... But, I felt weird about him sometimes." Nicholas said letting go of his sister's wrist.

Ada spoke up this time. She told the siblings it was true because Eri got crazy around him. This however made her receive odd looks from the siblings. She bit her lip and looked to Eri and Nikita. Nikita sighed and just straight up told them Eri was infected. However, he emphasized nothing was going to happen to her by anyone until she turned. He promised he would hurt anyone who tried anything. The siblings had no problem agreeing seeing as they had someone on their side that was infected. Ada finished telling them of how Eri's instinct go crazy around him.

"That would answer why he and Eri don't do so hot together, eh?" Nicholas said bringing a hand to his chin.
"That would answer why I didn't want Eri near Mizuki." Kalila said in a tone as if her realization was more important as she looked towards the ground. "He... He can't be infected..." Kalila said, her voice going two octaves higher. It was the voice taken on by a person on the verge of crying. "He's still protecting us even as we talk behind his back... He just can't be."
"I know one thing for sure." Nicholas said looking after him into the doorway of the Walmart. He wasn't able to see him. "We're all screwed if he's infected. He's saved our lives a couple times... Kalila her," He said pointing to his older sister. "is freakin' in love with him. He's our..." he paused for a little bit to think of a video game reference. "Strategist." he finished. Kalila had looked at him with sad, wet eyes, the tears had not fallen yet, when he picked on her. She found no need to deny anything at this point. It was kind of all going down hill anyway. She just managed to say a weak, watery "You suck."
"Either way..." She said after a while. "We can't let him fight the infected on his own. Let's go..." She murmured as she walked towards the entrance. The slogan of the super corporation store leered down at her: Always Low Prices. Always. After a pause and looking back at the group, Nicholas ran to join his sister. Unlike her, who held her sword down at her side in a feigned relaxed position ready to attack with an unseen attack when ambushed, Nicholas held his gun up and ready to aim at anything that even so much as looked at him funny and ready to fire at anything moved threateningly. The breaking of the board by Mizuki earlier made the automatic function of the store start up again. As soon as they were right outside of the door it opened on it's own for them.

It looked the same to Kalila as when she had first come in. The missing things were batteries and water. The low things were perishable food and people. They heard, from deep within the place, quick footsteps.

David glanced at Ada who was hiding Eri behind her, keeping him away. "What do you think I'm gonna do?" David asked, wondering why she was hiding her. David walked up to Eri, with a big smile, Ada still trying to keep him away. David looked Eri in the eyes, and asked, "Can I see your foot?" holding out a hand. Waiting for her to let him see her foot, instead of just grabbing it he stood there for a second. When she finally accepted he looked at her foot, which had shards of glass in it from when she had stepped in it. "I'll have to take care of that when we get inside Wal-Mart." He said still smiling. Standing up he looked at Ada, then Nikita. "Remember, I haven't changed, just your perspective of me has." He said, walking away.
Alex chuckled under his voice at what his dad had just done. Alex knew his dad could be an excellent children's doctor if he wanted to. His dad walked by the car, going towards the door. He walked in looking around, then waved his son, and the rest of the group that wasn't with him, in.
David stood in the door, looking around inside of the Wal-Mart. Everything was remarkably in tact. Unlike most of the stores him and the group were in, it wasn't completely savaged, and empty of a usefull matierials. In fact it looked like no one had entered the store, other then a few lone infected, since the outbreak. David looked around, and saw the "Pharmacy center" of Wal-Mart. Nothing had been touched, David liked that. He could take care of any injuries that the group had. He was also anxious to see the food, if that was as intact as the rest of the store, he couldn't wait to cook a gourmet meal for everyone. But first and formost, they had an infected to hunt down.
"I think we should all stick together, if there are any infected in here we should take them down one by one, until we get to Mizuki. And we need to hope he hasn't completely changed." Alex said, thinking he had something, but he started shrinking back behind his dad when they all just stared at him.
"I think it's a good plan." David said, messing his son's hair up. "Who's gonna lead, because I don't trust myself right now. Not with mizuki as one of the infected." When no one was paying attention, David put his hand on Kalila's shoulder, "I'm sure this is hard for you... Don't worry, if there is any chance we can save Mizuki, we'll take it." He said, making sure she was ok before he walked away. David himself couldn't stand to see people cry, was his only true weakness. He lost all his resolve whenever he saw someone crying, and he would do whatever it takes to get them to stop.
Alex could tell Kalila was taking this the hardest. After his dad walked away he went up to her, and hugged her. A friend in need... is a friend indeed. He thought to himself, trying to soothe her. After he walked awya he went into deep thought, Where did mizuki go? he thought, looking around the store. "I think mizuki's on the roof." Alex said, adding two plus two. "Think about it, this whole time he's been protecting us. I bet his final thoughts before he changed was 'Someone is threatening my friends.' But it's just a hunch."
David blinked three times. Alex was really becoming a chip off the old block.

[Oh noes! Mizuki is in a tight spot. . .DON'T BELIEVE IT KALILA, DON'T LISTEN NICHO! He loves you really. . . .even if he currently wants to eat you! >.<;]

Mizuki was lost in a sea of smells. He sifted through them much like a normal person might flick through pages of a manual. His increased sense of smell, each new scent brought with it a whole host of information. It brought with it an identity. It brought with it a location and a mood.
He lifted his covered face and sniffed the air. The air flooded in through the grills in the side of his mask. He could tell there were other infected in the store, for example. And could tell the distance they were from him by the strength of the smell. He could tell what they were feeling. If they had found food. If they posed a threat. . .

He looked around the store layout before him through the lens of his goggles. It wasn't like a humans perspective. For one thing, he was now colour blind. He saw in shades of black, grey and white. Outlines of objects were blurred and details were indistinct until he arrived closer to them. But Mizuki could avoid them all the same. It was just like moving around in the gloom. Besides, as shifty as his vision was, he would be able to spot movement a mile off. Movement was easy to spot when there was no colour to distract you - and that was if he didn't smell you first.

Mizuki had by now, moving fast, but a few departments between himself and his 'friends' who had just entered the store. His movements set him apart from the older infected, who were slow and rigid. The way Mizuki moved was more feral. His shoulders were slightly slumped and he leaned forwards slightly, as he walked - his legs were not straight and proper, but slightly bent at the knees as if constantly ready to spring into action.
Contrary to Alex's beliefs; Mizuki had no intention of going to the roof. The moment he had entered the store and been engulfed in the rich bouquet of scents, the human slate had been wiped clean. As had any previous thoughts of attatchments that had before existed.
Though he may have entered the store on the pretence of marching straight upstairs and killing the Crazie that had, or so he believed, threatened his friends - things had changed. He'd forgotten all about the Crazie on the roof. He had forgotten all about his friends. He was now only interested in carrying out his fresh primal need. To kill and to Feed.
Usually, to Feed would be enough. But Mizuki had been supressing his savage urges far too long. If he was to simply lock himself away, slip into a reverted state and eat once in a while - then those changes wouldn't be so bad. But stopping himself, keeping himself 'normal' for so long had created a build up. And just like a flood, when those barricades finally break under pressure, all hell breaks loose.

Mizuki's run broke off as he came across the source of the smell. Two infected where crouched nearby over the remains of what could only have been a reasonably sized human. The two infected had made quick work of it. Though - even from here, Mizuki could smell the body was old. A few days maybe. There was no hint of Rage seeping out of the two infected - it was clear that they had not killed for their food. Sacavangers who'd made a peace with eachother.
As Mizuki closed in, one of them stood, a long trail of intestine still danging from his jaws. It shifted from foot to foot as if uneasy. The other one didn't notice Mizuki until he started to ferment threatening scents. Then it looked up, it's lower face awash with blood and gore - loosing its features to a mess of dark pulp. Then it snarled at him. Mizuki took a menacing step forwards and growled in reply. The creature gnawing the intestines made no aggressive advance. Instead it muted its scents, a signal that it was not a threat. It shuffled back a few foot and sat back on its haunches, pulling out coils of innards was it went. However, the infected that had growls stood up. It bared it's gore splattered teeth and snarled loudly. Mizuki shifted, his arms swaying before throwing his head back and screeching. The sound echoed loudly. It wasn't even remotely human, and didn't sound like his former self at all.
The other infected brought it's arms up, gore encrusted fingers curled into savage claws and lunged forwards, bellowing a scream of its own. It moved fast, clearly a freshly infected. But Mizuki held his ground. Then, at the last second sidestepped just out of reach. His movements were swift and calculated - not like the usual savage and mindless strikes usually associated with the infected.
The moment the other infected had passed him, Mizuki flung himself on its back. They both came crashing to the ground, yowling, hissing and spitting. Mizuki pinned it beneath him by sitting on it and clawed at the back of its exposed neck. Confusion registered in Mizuki's mind behind the veils of Rage. Though he was scratching away, the skin remained unmarred. Strange coverings on his hands were blocking his nails. The thing beneath him bucked and screeched in Rage and Mizuki barelly managed to stay on top of it. It rolled viciously and Mizuki now straddled it's side. One arm was trapped beneath it, but the other lashed out at Mizuki's thigh, clawing at the leg of his jeans, leaving thin and blotted trails of blood and grissle down his leg. Mizuki lowered his head in one swift motion to the exposed jugular and thrust his mouth forwards as if to latch on to it. Instead his mouth bashed against something hard and unexpected. His teeth grated against it but tore nothing except the inside of his own lips. Mizuki growled in frustration, and tried again. This growl escalated into an outright bellow of sheer rage that sounded like 'RAASSST!" - an unintelligable exclaimation of pure anger. He then grabbed the sides of his opponents head and proceeded to slam it again and again against the floor. At first it it thudded against the tiles, accompanied by sharp grunts of anger. These changed to cracks and whimpers. Then crunches, as the body beneath his spasmed. Soon there weas no sound of resistance and the only sound was wet slappings.
With one final, brutal and bitter slam Mizuki rose to his feet. Swayed there, then turned back to the corpse.
He squatted beside the corpse and reached down with gloved hands and pulled a handful of globular mess from within a large tear in the mid-section. It was a pulped mess of skin, nerves, meat and a few scrapings of kidney. He raised it to his mouth and went to shovel it in, instead only smearing it against the surface of his mouth. He paused, paralysed for a moment with his confusion. Then he felw into a violent temper. He screeched and hissed and knocked over a few shelving units containing cosmetics. The other infected shifted a few feet further away, the intestines slithering across the the floor like a glistening eel. Mizuki ran against a wall repeatedly, scratching at his face. By chance, his fingers caught against the mask straps and pulled them clean from his ears. He yelped slightly in shock as he felt the elastic twang against his ears. He rubbed them listlessly and stared at the strange contraption in his hands. Turning it over and inspecting it, he sniffed at it eagerly with his now uncovered lower face. Turning it, he found the mush of flesh smeared against its surface and poked it inquisitvely with his tongue. As his tongue actually met with the meat and blood, he let out a high pitched trill of pleasure and began to lap it up eagerly, like a dog with spilt food. Once clean, he inspected the mask carefully, playing with the straps betweend his fingers. He held the thing up to his mouth again reaching up and trying to hook one of the straps behind his ear. He failed twice, but on the third curious attempt, the elastic hung over his ear and the mask draped down the side of his face. He grinned and took it off, looping the straps around his wrist and letting it hang there like some demented decoration.
The other infected studied him cautiously as he came back over and began to shuffle food into his mouth, swallowing without chewing, like a ravenous animal.
Then - something else caught his acute hearing. A yelp. With it came a strong stench of fear. Mizuki stood, dropping the handful of old meat fall to the floor as if it no longer held any use for him.
Mizuki sniffed the air again and pinpointed the location of the yelp. His features were neutral, his eyes a hideous bloodied and vacant orbs behind his goggles, blood now smearing his chin. He looked to the other infected and grunted.
Food.
The other infected looked up at him and half turned itself away, gnawing more pointedly on the intestinal cord. Mizuki grunted again, letting off a strange scent that would signal a hunt. The other infected muted all its scents and grunted back, continuing to chew on its leftovers.
It seemed that this infected did not have the Hunter's Drive. It would prefer to scavange for old pickings that actively go out and take down fresh prey.
Mizuki considered breaking the other infected's neck. The other seemed to pick up on this hostility because it let out a strangled screech of refusal and tore through a length of intestine with its teeth - rising to its feet and walking off.
Mizuki watched it go for only a moment - before turning on heel and stalking off through the isles- following the scent of fear.
It was dimming now - but Mizuki fancied he knew where the human was. But he was to act fast if he wanted to get in before any other infected got their first.

[Don't worry guys. These people aren't you ^^ Some other people that have sought refuge in the mall.]

[[ohh well, can't be right all the time domokun ]]

Alex jumped at the sounds of infected inside the mall. There were two, the first one roared, then there was a second roar. The only thing different about this roar is that it could make a paraplegic run for his/her life.
That's probably Mizuki. David thought, keeping watch for any other infected.
"Ok, maybe I was wrong..." Alex said, reffering to Mizuki being on the roof. "Let's just hope that wasn't him." Alex continued.
"Maybe we should just work our way through the store, and deal with Mizuki when we find him." David said, suprised that he was actually worried about Mizuki. He hoped Mizuki was alright, although truthfully David didn't know why he felt this way.
Alex hoped Mizuki was alright too. Unlike his dad Alex thought of Mizuki as his friend... He didn't know if Mizuki felt the same way however. All he knew is that right now Mizuki probably wanted to eat his face.

[[I feel slightly sorry for the people you found in the mall... they have no idea what's about to get them.]]

((ohthankgod))

Thomas was suprised when Terry grabbed him and pulled him higher up. It was the sudden jolt that caught him of guard. In the situation they were in, if Thomas had not been more aware of his suroundings, he might have attacked Terry.

That... or he would have lost his footing from the shock and fall into the fire, burning his flesh and more likely breaking his legs.

"Terry. We need to get out of here. Only one tire was hit on your truck, so it should be capable of the trip to the Walmart."

Thomas coughed as the smoke from the roaring flames filled his lungs.

"The momentary opening won't last long, and that roar that we just heard can't be good... So we have two choices. Stay here and wait for whatever he heard so we will have a solid base to take it down and risk a re-grouping of the infected, or we can rally everybody up now and leave as soon as we can, risking running into whatever it was..."

Thomas was now at the window with Terry.

"I think we should take the opening. It should be fairly easy to dodge any trouble if it shows itself. If avoiding it fails we always have plan B."

Thomas looked at the grenades dangling on Terry.

"There's not much time. You wait here and look out for trouble, I'll go get everybody else."

Thomas climbed through the window yelling Nina's name.

"NINA!"

[[I had Terry wait at the window so if Justin dosn't feel like posting then it won't effect the RP, and if he decides to post he can shoot down some Infected or come inside. If it's a problem I'll delete that part of my post.]]

Eri's instincts made her left eye twitch, her fingers making a fist to where she could feel her sharp nails dig into her skin. She hissed and looked at it; then she looked at the people around her. They all knew.... Would they hurt her for licking her own blood..? She looked around for any hint of Danger. After David had shown kindness she felt no sense of fear towards him, so she disregarded any hostile feelings towards him. She looked up quickly. She could smell the Stench of dead infected, and the sweet smell of blood as it filled her nose. She stepped forward, but she stopped herself, making her trip on her injured foot. "ow.." She said to herself. She could tell no one liked her, so she gave up on trying to befriend them. She could smell the blood, and she wanted it. Bad. She looked at Ada. 'Probability she'll kill me if I run away: 100%' She thought, sighing. She licked her hand and found her own blood was no better than that of an infected. She used her sleeve to wipe her tongue, then she looked at David. 'Chance He'll kill me if I go near him: 45%' She looked at the siblings, her eyes gazing in a cold and calculative way. 'Chance they'll kill me for trying to talk to them: Not likely; Chance they'll hurt me if I try to kill Mizuki: 100%' She sighed. 'Chance I'm gonna live through this and see the end of college: 0%' . . . Great. Put all that work into my studies, and I end up dying anyway.

PERFECT.

She growled, looking at everyone. 'And everyone here wants to kill me, yet save Mizuki....' She sighed, grabbing Ada's arm with her cut hand. She hissed loudly and pulled it away, whispering. "S-S-Sorry!" Then looking towards where the running noise was. "Hn..?" She said, staring as if she just won a million dollars. "Mizuki.." She said to herself. "Seems like he's found prey...." She frowned, looking at Alex. "Um...Alex..was it....? What's the probability Mizuki will want to kill us...?" She looked concerned. Even though the group was scared of her, she liked the group, and if Mizuki tried to attack, she knew the first one to be shot would be her, and it would be because she's trying to protect them.....

[[it's not bad... just depressing...]]

Alex looked down at the young girl, "Ya, that's my name." He listened to her, "Well if he's gone infected 100 %... If he hasn't gone infected probably 0%... but it's really hard to say." He said to Eri. He felt sorry for her. She would eventually become completely infected, and they would have to kill her. up until now I've only had to kill infected I didn't know. alex thought, realizing he probably couldn't kill any infected if he knew them.
David also felt sorry for the girl. She was getting close... he could tell. All he knew is that he wasn't going to be able to kill the young girl, Mizuki on the other hand, he could kill him easily, but only because he would expect the same if he was in the current situation, and David was the infected.

[[I'm gonna hate it when we get with the rest of the group... It'll take forever to post with all those people...]]
[[check out signiture, it's really fitting for this RP]]

Eri nodded angrily when Alex told her the statistics. She didn't like this. "Well.... We're screwed then...." She knew for a FACT he wasn't the same person anymore. She was worried, and it was showing with her shaking. She was shaking like a leaf, and she looked directly where the running was coming from. 'Okay....' She loosened up. He wasn't coming over here, so no use in getting riled up and upset right...? Eri Looked at Alex. She didn't know why, but her face went red. 'Oh my god..' She thought, looking the other way, making it look like she smelled something. She Closed her eyes

'This is NOT the time to develop crushes on people idiot..!'

She shook it off and looked around. "Mizuki seems distracted, he's not sending out threatening scents in this direction..." She said, not realizing she said it aloud. When she got looks she blinked. "What..? Is something on my face...?"
