Quoth The Raven: "Nevermore" Tyrese was up at six am, but his mission didn't involve relaxing on his first calm day in almost two weeks. Getting dressed after his shower, the adult rolled up his sleeves and hauled every Christmas decoration he owned out of the garage. While the sun was still making its rise the wolf was hanging Christmas lights, spinning garland along banisters and railings, hanging wreaths on doors, placing plastic figurines on tables- the whole nine yards. And while he was normally one to prefer a real tree, this year he would go without. There wasn't much he could do, the store only had one pink six foot artificial tree; Sela would love that anyhow. It was all for her, afterall, once he learned her mother was dropping her off. Ty was basically ecstatic, even despite running on fumes. He artfully arranged an armful of wrapped gifts under the tree, an unexpected grin brining life to his eyes until he completed his work.
Around nine fifteen that morning, the door bell rang. The author looked up from his half frosted cake before tearing off his apron and padding to the door. He'd barely turned the bronze knob and cracked the door when the three-year-old wiggled her way in, losing her hat as she tackled his leg. "Daddy!" Ty didn't halt long enough to feel pain from it, he scooped the young one up and peppered kisses all over his daughter's tiny face. Sela began to squeal and giggle, chiming his name again and begging him to stop. "Daddy missed you so much!" He laughed, unable to help himself as he shifted the toddler enough to look at her. She hugged his neck, laying her head on his shoulder. "There's my heart and joy." He hummed warmly, then turned to Lillian. There was a brief silence during which he became unsure of what emotion to express; he shifted his gaze as Sela's puppy trotted in excitedly. "Merry Christmas, Lillian." He managed, and more sincerely than he suspected he could.
After goodbyes, Tyrese closed the door and let Sela down, grunting as he planted a hand on either side of his waist. "Have you eaten yet, miss lady?" He asked, suspecting she was being too difficult to wake up this morning let alone to feed. Sela spotted something she liked and toddled over to it, dropping her backpack in the middle of the floor. "I hungy, Daddy." "Well good." The adult chuckled in reply. He eyed the dog on his way to the kitchen, imaging the fit Sela would throw if he tried to chain it up outside. Sela followed behind him, climbing her way into the booth in the corner of the kitchen. Her eyes grew bigger as she spotted the cake. "Sela want cake!" Ty looked to where she pointed as he served her plate where she was seated. "That's the cake we're taking to Aunty Bree. It's her get well cake." He explained, sitting beside the younger wolf to feed her small bites. "We can all eat some together later. First, we have to eat and open presents. Are you excited for that?" "Yes!"

Who: Tyrese, Little person ╰☆╮ Cash: $1000.00 ╰☆╮ Attire: Merry What-mas ╰☆╮ OOC: XD Ty is such a snuggly dad
With his circadian rhythm out of whack Devon was now paying the price of sleeping more than his usual eight hours, staying up into the wee hours of the early morning. Of course, he couldn't spend said hours staring at the wall and instead entertained himself through several different means, reading, playing with the shower and sink in an attempt to get a better understanding of them, and going through, and reorganizing, the few outfits he had stored away in his closet. By the time the sun began rising he had returned to his room and started to drift off, eyes fluttering and head nodding down. In a last ditch effort to keep awake he started he tried practicing his magic, whipping up mini tornado in the palm of his hand, the wind it created stirring his bangs.
He was still trying to concentrate on maintaining the tornado's form when he heard movement about the house, distracting him long enough for his grip on his ability to slip and the miniature natural disaster to dissipate. He didn't think they were being robbed, but it was best to go and check, just to be safe. Stifling a yawn Devon trudged to the edge of his bed and popped his head out into the hallway, with a glazed eyes he searched the immediate area, only to find that there was nothing. The sounds were coming from farther in the house, which forced him to leave his room further to investigate. He eventually found the source, and much to his relief found that it wasn't burglars, rather Tyrese. Devon blinked and watched him decorate the house for... some reason, he was obviously trying to create a theme. But as to what it was exactly, he wasn't too sure.
Devon wobbled on his feet as he watched Tyrese about. He was past the point of coherency, so he didn't bother trying to question the man; he wouldn't have made much sense anyway. What happened next was a blur, he stood there, silent and dazed, for about five minutes before he eventually toddled back into his room. Time passed and the next thing Devon knew he was jolting up at the sound of a door bell. "S'no, I don't..." he looked around his room, head switching back and forth widely, before he calmed himself down. With a groan he pulled himself to his feet, somehow he'd managed to fall asleep on his knees with only the upper half of his body on the bed, and looked at the time. The green, blinking light that flashed in front of him told him that it was past time he got up and start his day, and now day was complete without a shower.
After a lengthy shower Devon got himself dressed, a towel still wrapped around his shoulders to catch any excess water dripping from his blonde tresses. He was still tired, but no longer delirious; which, in short, meant that after a bit of caffeine he'd be good to go. And where caffeine food? The kitchen of course, honestly that room was quickly becoming his favorite in the house. Devon had the decency to remove his towel from off his person before he exited his room, though five steps out and he couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow. Someone else was up, which was to no surprise he remembered that Tyrese had been up a few hours ago, but from the sound of it there was more than one person downstairs. Instantly curious he made for the stairs, quiet as usual, and crept to the kitchen, unsure of what to find; the gaudy pink tree was enough to concern him. "Tyrese, do you have company?" he asked, seconds before he actually entered the kitchen. He stopped, eyes instantly falling to the small child sitting down and then the pup nearby. "Oh..." He blinked, this had certainly taken a turn for the unexpected. "I didn't know you were a father."

Quoth The Raven: "Nevermore" Tyrese stabbed some food onto the prongs of the fork, handing it to Sela as she insisted on feeding herself. It was only after two or three bites that she got antsy and climbed over him to get down. "The dog has to stay out of the kitchen." He called gruffly, holding out the fork as Sela ran over for another bite. She tagged his leg and ran into the living room giggling, "But why?" She called back, stopping in the doorway of the kitchen. Tyrese eyed her carefully and absently ate off the fork, watching her saphire orbs fill with disbelief. "Daddy!" She charged him and slapped his knee, heaving herself to her toes and grabbing at the fork. The wolf burst out laughing, "You're just as stingy with your food as your mother!" The father teased while laughing.
Both stiffened at the addition of a third voice, Tyrese cocking his head to the blonde whom had roused himself. "Good morning, and Merry Christmas." He greeted, while Sela instantly clung to his leg, staring with pensive eyes. "I am. This is my daughter Sela. Miss Lady, this is Devon. He's keeping daddy company for a while." Sela hid her face as her name was mentioned, scurrying under the table and climbing into the booth to hug his arm. "She's with me for the holidays. Do you feel comfortable with children?" The author asked, loosening Sela's grip with one hand. Sela didn't get her shy streak from him, he was a quiet child but not a shy one. He wasn't asking how Devon felt because he planned on leaving Sela alone with this one. Still, it kinda needed to be asked since Sela would be around.

"Good morning," Devon parroted, not wanting his curiosity to get in the way of a greeting; that would be rude. He paused, however, at Tyrese's second greeting, 'Merry Christmas'? He had yet to educate himself on human holidays, so he had no way of knowing, yet, what exactly that was. He held off on immediately questioning the author on it, however, and instead turned a polite smile to his daughter when introductions were made. "Hello, Sela, It's nice to meet you," he waved to her, suppressing a hint of laughter when Tyrese referred to himself as 'daddy'. It was funny, he previously hadn't imagined the man to be a father and if the proof wasn't shying her face away from him he wouldn't have believed it.
He quirked an eyebrow, his attention roaming away from Sela to resettle on her father. "Yes," he replied simply. "I have younger siblings at home." The youngest was about five hundred years old now, but she still retained a rather child-like appearance and demeanor, in the human world she'd be taken for a school age child. Devon kept himself by the doorway and began leaning against the wall, arms crossed and right leg crossed over the left by the ankle. "Uhm, Tyrse..." he paused, unsure how to phrase the question. It was a rather simple one, but one that would betray his ignorance; and that was something he never liked. "Is 'Merry Christmas' the holiday we-- you, are celebrating?"

Quoth The Raven: "Nevermore" Tyrese gave Sela a slice of waffle to occupy herself with while he got up, extending a hand to stop her as she launched forward to follow him. "I'm going to be two feet away pouring you some juice." He reassured her, opening his cabinet for a sippy cup. "That's good to hear, so you already know what to expect." The wolf responded in regards to Devon's younger siblings. He was going to try and keep Sela busy, out of his hair. "I made breakfast, help yourself." The author screwed open the cup, filled half with juice, and sealed it before handing it to the child. He was putting the juice away again when the other adult began to question him. "Sorta! Today is Christmas, merry isn't part of the name." He retorted slowly at first, closing the fridge and standing beside the table. Sela was balled up in a corner, trying to hide while stuffing her mouth. The blunette had to consider how foreign Devon was to not know about Christmas. He didn't seem like he was from the Middle East. "If you've never observed the holiday before, you can celebrate with Sela and I." While he wasn't going to presume he could take the blonde over to Aubrey's home, given what she was going through, Devon could participate when he and Sela made gingerbread men and watched Christmas flicks. Ty needed to buy eggnog and all, but last minute Christmas was still Christmas.

Devon chuckled softly as he watched the skittish Sela make to try and follow her father, only to be stopped and reassured by him. She was a shy little thing, wasn't she? He could see the physical resemblance between the two, but he failed to find any in their personality. Ah well, maybe when the girl was older?
"More or less, yes and thank you," he nodded his head to Tyrese's offer of food and pushed himself off the wall, propelling him farther into the room and in the direction of food. While he made himself a plate he listened to the man's short explanation and correction of Christmas. "Aaah," he bobbed his head, to show that he understood, as he cut into his waffle. Devon couldn't help but look over to Sela, her behavior curious to him, before he offered the small child a smile, just to try and show that he wasn't a threat. He twirled his fork in between his fingers before he slipped the silverware between his thumb and forefinger, angling it so that he could stab his food and place it into his mouth. As he chewed his eyes brightened at Tyrese's proposal of celebrating, and he hummed out what could only be interpreted as a muffled acceptance. He quickly swallowed. "Yes, thank you!" he replied, a bit more excited than he ought to be; he managed to calm down after another forkful of waffle. "How do you celebrate Christmas?"

Quoth The Raven: "Nevermore" Tyrese slipped down into the booth beside Sela, motioning for Devon to join them in the adjacent seat. The wolf wasn't hungry this morning, and it was likely today would be sluggish for the both of them. It was a blue moon, afterall. Sela was actually doing surprisingly well so far, compared to how she was on just a full moon. He was actually feeling...well, strange. Stranger than usual, given he too became tired on days like these. Where it concerned his wolf, he hadn't been feeling quite the same since that last full moon in the park. Ty told himself not to find something new to worry about right now, blinking over to his daughter to hand her an apple slice. She jammed herself against his side again as soon as he was within reach. Honestly! She didn't get this shy streak from him! "Alright, you, go play with your dog for a while. And don't touch anything under the Christmas tree until Daddy gets there." He said, dismissing the small child and beginning to clean off their half of the table.
Sela snatched her sippy cup off the table on her way out, looking at her daddy's friends as she crept out of the doorway. Her expression didn't budge when he smiled her way and she shuffled out of sight before turning to retrieve Mr Rex out of her backpack. Ty shook his head at the girl, draping his arm over the back of his seat on she had his area cleaned. "People celebrate Christmas in different ways. As for me..." This was his first Christmas with his daughter, leading the wolf to wonder if he should maybe start a new tradition of celebrate someway special. He was currently undecided. "If she's up for it later, we'll build snowmen and bake cookies. Traditional things." He shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand. "Which reminds me. I'm going to hold you to your offer just this once. Sela and I have an errand to run, so if you could do the grocery shopping, I would really, really appreciate it."

Upon Tyrese's silent permission Devon slide down into the seat adjacent from the duo, the first half of his waffle already devoured. He could blame his ravenous attitude on the fact that it'd been twelve hours since he'd last eaten, but in all honesty he could place the blame on Tyrse himself. He was good in the kitchen, and since nearly everything he made was edible Devon would have to watch what he ate. He didn't want to return back home ten pounds heavier. Or, you know, actually learn to cook for himself and create meals that were conscious of his own palette and dietary needs; it was one of the two. The Sylph began absently drumming his fingers against the table with his free hand, and with the other he finished up his breakfast. Out of the corner of his eye he watched the blunette dispatch the little one, and he certainly didn't miss the lack of change in Sela's expression. Ah, well it wasn't as if he expected a single smile to change her entire opinion of him.
Still, he chuckled, and when he turned back to Tyrese a smile light his features, "your daughter's adorable," he complimented then stood to bring his plate to the sink. He listened quietly as the other explained that celebrating Christmas varied from person then went on to inform him of his personal way he and his daughter would be celebrating. "That sounds like fun," he chirped, optimistically, and it did; at the very least baking cookies would be something new for him. Devon perked up, body turning sideways so that he could look to the man, when an offer was mentioned. Right. His offer. That he'd made last night. As an act of goodwill. And camaraderie. His eyes trailed out to the window, where he could just catch a few snowflakes drifting lazily down. If only he'd gone to the store last night. "Of course." Turning his body to complete his 180 degree turn he pressed his back against the counter, fingers threading themselves behind his head. "What do you need me to purchase?"

Quoth The Raven: "Nevermore"
Tyrese chuckled hardily, giving an appreciative nod of his head. "Thank you. She's only three but she thinks she's thirty. I adore her anyway." He hummed, dark orbs drifting to the window and lingering there. As one might judge, the wolf was not exaggerating. The man may not have suspected what kind of father he'd ever be, but he had his answer. He spoiled her, though she was obviously a child who was accustomed to being indulged in the first place; her mother's work and not his. Her mother was well off, so why not? Tyrese cocked his head back towards the blonde, dragging his arm off its perch to grab Sela's plate. "No one should be alone on the holidays, right? It's more fun with more people." He extended, pushing himself to his feet to start the dishes. The more he tried to plan his day out, the more his mind stuck to the idea of heading to Aubrey's. Would she mind if he brought a tag along? The wolf thought to text and ask as he stood at the sink in front of running water. A family atmosphere may be good for her.
"Just a few things. But I'm particular, so maybe Sela and I should go." Tyrese digressed, stopping the water and beginning to wash the cooking wear he'd used today. "I only eat organic and don't want to bother you to find the name brands I use." He was just using it as a chance to get to Aubrey without being entirely rude enough to leave the other male alone while he and Sela did a family thing. However, it wasn't a lie that he was picky. Ty should just trust his current boarder, or wait until he got a response from the curly brunette. He sighed, "Sorry, I'm being scatter brained."

"Only three?" For some reason revealing Sela's age was mildly surprising, accented by a slight dilation of the eyes and an arched brow. "I thought she was older," Devon mused. Even if Tyrese hadn't said it, it was obvious that he loved his daughter, and vice-versa, he hadn't seen anyone so adamant to staying attached to another. It was endearing to see that sort of dynamic, though it did bring back memories of his own family, he wondered how they were faring. Still in thought, Devon grunted absently to Tyrese's statement, agreeing with him; no one should be alone on any sort of celebratory event. Of course, if Tyrese hadn't told him he wouldn't have even known it was a holiday, let alone its significance. But, now that he was 'in the loop', it was only right that he try and commemorate the holiday.
Devon tipped his head to the side, appraising Tyrese as he seemed to rethink his request. "It wouldn't be too much trouble," he assured the man. "At some point I'll have to begin shopping for myself, and it's better if I learn where certain brands are now." If he wanted to properly assimilate it'd have to start by becoming independent, which meant taking on the foreign concept of buying your own groceries. Unless he somehow managed to convince Tyrese to hire someone... Before his mind could wander too far into that idea he turned back to the male to finish trying to persuade him. "Besides, if it came to it I could always ask the staff for assistance." Not that he wasn't already planning to recruit the help of one of the workers.
Devon dismissed the other's apology with a wave of the hand, "it's fine." Though afterwards he couldn't help but to look the author's way with a contemplative expression. "Penny for your thoughts?" he asked, recalling the expression he'd stumbled upon a few days ago. It was such an interesting one too, though perhaps... since he was an author it would have been better to offer a quarter. Hm.

Quoth The Raven: "Nevermore"
Tyrese began to rinse and file away the dishes that he washed, hearing Sela squeal with joy as she tried to teach her puppy how to fetch. It seemed fine with chasing the ball, but ran as the young wolf tried to get it back. The father glanced over his shoulder to check her progress before drying his hands. "Mhm, her birthday was just last month." The man elaborated to the other, putting away old dry dishes that were cluttering his countertop. It was noon now and as the sun dropped he felt a little less human than just yesterday. And he was still so tired. Sela's nap was coming up, wasn't it? He could- bah, there was too much to be done. The wolf closed his cabinet when he filed away the last dish, and turned to jot down his shopping list. Damn this being a busy body, he did these things to himself!
"You do have a point." Tyrese submitted as Devon countered with a valid argument, one that set his mind at rest. Why overthink everything? That was one habit he defiantly needed to kill sometime soon. He shook his head while filling in name brands and the amount of each product he needed. Baking supplies and tonight's dinner on a relatively short list, which he brought to the older male. A penny for his thoughts? The wolf exhaled in a halfhearted but appreciative way, "Just stuff, nothing be concerned over for my cause." His mind had a tragic pattern to think the way it did, in much too troublesome a way to explain. Besides, it was a simple enough solution if he admitted to the point. He may as well bring Devon along to see Aubrey. That, or go see her tomorrow.

With mild interest Devon watched as Tyrese took care of the dishes, aquamarine orbs falling onto the water that streamed endlessly from a spout before his eyes flickered towards the entryway, where the sounds of Sela's squeal and nails scraping against the hardwood floor could be heard. Devon turned his head back to Tyrese, his voice cutting through the noise. He found himself nodding in understanding after the father explained. "How'd you two celebrate?" he inquired, genuinely curious. He would refrain from asking too many questions, it was obvious that the other was preoccupied at the moment, he had long sense come to the realization that Tyrese Havens was a synonym for 'busybody'; the man was always on the move. Even when he was supposed to be relaxing, he was doing something. The blonde watched as a grocery list was written out and a soft laugh escaped him, "Tyrese, when do you ever find the time to relax?" he asked lightly, his tone teasingly serious.
He smiled proudly when Tyrese not only admitted that he was right--who didn't like being told they were correct?--but submitted and allowed him the oh-so prestigious honor of collecting their food for the night. "I can be right, on occasion," he joked before he turned his attention to the window once more. The dark orange sky that filled out the top half of the window let him know that quite a bit of time had passed since he'd woken up, which hopefully meant that when he did venture outside it'd be a little warmer. Devon tipped his head to the side, blonde bangs slipping past his eyes to, momentarily, obscure his vision when Tyrese reassured him that whatever thoughts plagued him were nothing to be concerned for. "Alright," he replied with a shrug, nonchalant. He wouldn't push the man into revealing anything he didn't want to. Devon shuffled forward, moving closer so that he could peer down at the list. It was to no surprise that he'd never heard of mostof the brands on the list, but, as he'd said himself, that was what staff was for. He took the piece of paper, folding it neatly before he tucked it into his pocket. "I'll go put on a jacket and then head out, I shouldn't be gone for too long."

Quoth The Raven: "Nevermore"
Tyrese rubbed his eyes with the side of his hand, stifling a yawn as he stood at the counter. He checked his watch with a flick of his wrist, knowing he'd have to put Sela down for a nap soon. But before that, she wouldn't be distracted for much longer away from the presents and the giant pink tree with Christmas lights playing tinkling music. What was keeping her entertained anyway? The- s**t, probably the candy bowl. The wolf wasn't even going to check if he was right, knowing any three-year-old at all, that candy was guaranteed to be slightly less full than he'd last left it. She probably even gave some to the dog, and that's why she was so damn hyper. Shaking his head to himself, he inclined his head towards the other male. "Our family and friends threw a little get together in the park for her. It's too bad there were just no kids around, her age or otherwise. At least, none that we've run into. She needs a friend." He answered, taking a glance into the living room.
Making his way back to the counter, he began to finish his very first project of frosting the cake for Aubrey. He chuckled warmly at Devon's comment. "This is relaxing." He replied curtly, his lips curled into a little smile as he gave a single firm nod. "Besides, it's better to get things done immediately rather than putting them off until later." Either way, he was going to consume the same amount of time doing chores. His best strategy was to do it all now then settle down in time to watch movies with his daughter. He wouldn't get any of her attention once she opened her presents anyway. Ty noticed the look on Devon's face once he agreed to let him do the shopping, directed his navy orbs to his task as his smile persisted. Just as he finished, an empty sippycup was pushed up on the counter. The father leaned forward to inspect the toddler responsible, seeing chocolate on the side of her mouth. She inclined her head to see him, a wrapped gift in his other hand.
"Daddy, come over here," She piped, reaching for his fingers. She grabbed hold of his palm, turning on her heel and leading him to the living room. Tyrese chuckled, casting a glance at the blonde as he folded the paper Ty had written out. "Sela and I will drop you off, we're going out too." He called, albeit not at all very loudly. He looked forward as Sela stopped at the couch and scooted the present up before climbing onto the cushion herself. She patted the spot beside him, and he sat. "Sit here, daddy. We haf to...we have to open our toys! She announced, bringing the present back into her lap and looking at him. Tyrese chuckled and nodded, "Okay, Sela. Open your present." He approved, releasing her to do as she pleased. The child's smile became a grin and she tore apart the pink and silver wrapping, revealing a tea set. "Isn't it nice? Daddy picked it to match the kitchen set you got for your birthday."
Sela put the box down, using both hands to push her hair back. "Sela can cook like daddy now?" She asked, watching him nod before giggling into her hands. She got up and ran back to the tree, looking for the biggest gift to open next. Tyrese got up as well, pulling a jacket from the closet and slipping it over his arms. "Uncle Sean sent you a special present too, but it's in the garage." He encouraged as piles of wrapping paper began to clutter his floor. Sela found two new stuffed animals, serval bedtime story books, a jewelry box, dress up supllies, some dog stuff for the mutt, and a leap pad. She recieved a hand mirror as well, which she stopped to look into for a good long time. That was a trait from both her mother and her father, he'd admit that openly. He folded his arms, laughing as he dangled his car keys. "Take one with you and put on your jacket. It's almost time to hit the road." The father instructed, tapping off to pack the cake for the car ride.

Who: Tyrese, Sela ╰☆╮ Cash: $1000.00 ╰☆╮ Attire: Merry What-mas *Updated* ╰☆╮ OOC: D: guh, so sorry for the wait!
Devon turned his head to the left absently, eyes trained blankly on the wall. A few thoughts flittered through his mind, none lasting more than a second or ever becoming more than just a passing thought, or brief observation of the room he found himself in currently. He was distracted, but not deeply so, which was what allowed him to catch Tyrese stifle a yawn out of the corner of his eye, which allowed him to raise an eyebrow. It wasn't that late out, but then again the father had been up early, decorating his house and getting it ready for his daughter. Devon hummed thoughtfully, "maybe you should put her into Daycare?" he suggested lightly. "If there are any that are around here that is, she'd make friends that way."
He tracked Tyrese's movements with his eyes, taking in the cake the man began to busy himself with frosting. It looked good, perhaps it was just another part of Christmas. "Is it?" he bounced back, eyebrows furrowing gently. He'd never thought of running about the house was anywhere close to relaxing, but to each his own. He made a good point though, procrastinating and pushing things off to complete 'later'--aka never--wasn't a habit to fall into, but it was easy to do. "I've been wondering," he started after some thought. "Why don't you ever hire anyone to help you? I'm sure an assistant or a few maids could help lighten your load."
Devon had just begun to inch closer to try and inspect the cake when Sela reappeared, momentarily redirecting his attention. With the beginning of a chuckle starting in his throat he watched as the three year old pulled his father out of the kitchen and into the living room, Tyrese just able to get out a word before he was out of earshot.
"Alright, thank you," Devon called back, and once alone he rocked back on his heels for a few moments before he eventually followed the two, stopping at the doorway to just peer in and watch as Sela was given permission to open presents and did so happily, quickly creating a pile of bright wrapping on the floor. So this was Christmas? Or... at least the Havens' version of it? It was nice. The Sylph didn't stay for long, mentally reminding himself that he had to start getting properly dressed to deal with the cold, and made for the stairs, then his room. He returned back a few minutes later, gloves donned and hoodie pulled back, his boots making a louder noise than his previous footwear had.
Devon stopped behind the couch, looking back towards the pink tree and its moat of wrapping paper to take in the new toys Sela had received, they were nice, perfect for a girl her age, he imagined. "That's a very nice mirror you have, Sela," he piped up, watching the toddler preen in front of it. He turned to Tyrese, not to pay him a compliment but to inform him. "I'm ready to go when you two are," he said, slipping gloved hands into the pockets of his jacket.
