Unlike the king's shiftless expression, Mrs. Nesdin's face became more distraught the more she heard. She looked at the floor, then started to shake her head. "He's suffered so much away from home. All because he wanted to follow in my footsteps...." she put her hands to her face, arms shaking. "My little boy..."

The mechanic's heart went out to Talbot's mother. He gently put out his arms in an offering of a hug. "...I promise I will get him back to you, safe & sound... with his memory back." he said.

"No." the woman shook her head, sitting straight again. Her eyes seemed angry suddenly, replacing her look of sorrow. "I will destroy the woman that thinks she owns my baby. I'll do it by my honour as a knight, and a mother." she put her hand to her chest. Her determination shone through her sadness, as such was the true radiance of a knight.

The sudden changed threw the young mechanic off guard. He slowly nodded. "...Sh-She's a-a formidable f-foe Ma'am..." he said, "I-I don't w-want to see y-you hurt as-as well... Pl-Please be-be careful..."

"I'm not going to sit idly by while some enchantress does as she likes with my one and only son. It's a mother's duty to protect her child." she stood up and walked to the door to the sitting room. "I'll get my things. We leave immediately." she said. Her march was cut off though, as a large man wearing different shades of blue and black stepped into the way."You aren't going anywhere, Jenavive." he said. His eyes were a bright gold colour and his short hair was pitch black. He resembled an older Talbot, so it was obvious who he was. "Not in your condition." he added, frowning as he put his hands on her shoulders.

Arron decided it was best to keep his mouth shut when Talbot's father stepped into the room. He was amazed at how similar they looked. However he was glad that the woman's husband was concerned for her health. He politely stood. "It-It's nice t-to meet you Sir." he said kindly.

"A pleasure. I'm afraid my wife can not accompany you though. She recently suffered an injury in combat, and she's supposed to be resting." the man stated, glancing at his wife with judging eyes. She shied away from his eyes and put a hand on her hip. It suddenly became obvious that there was a bandage peeking out from behind her blouse, covering her entire left shoulder. " A knight does not flee from battle just because of an injury. I have to protect my son, and his honour." she explained.Talbot's father's eyes suddenly gained a golden glow to them, and he raised his hand as he muttered under his breath. With some sort of magic, he was able to guide his wife into a room, and onto a bed without touching her. He then turned to face Arron. " The code of knights is not lost on me, but I myself am not a knight, so I can't condone recklessness. But I may be of some help to you."

"I-I would be m-most gr-grateful f-for any as-assistance S-Sir." said Arron. The mechanic's stance had straightened slightly; it was slightly more confident. He was glad at how protective Talbot's father was with his wife, because he would have let her accompany him due to the fact he had not seen the injury.

"You can't go if I can't! That's completely hypocritical!" Mrs. Nesdin exclaimed from the room. She remained lying down on the bed, but her defiance about staying home was still evident in her voice."I won't be going anywhere." he focused on Arron. "I'll be able to help from here." Without any warning, he approached the mechanic and put one hand to the side of his face, and the other on the top of his head with the thumb pressed to his forehead. The man then closed his eyes and focused, and a strange sensation flowed over Arron's eyes.

The sudden movement of Mr. Nesdin took Arron off guard. He stiffened as soon as the man touched Arron's face. He was confused as to what as happening. For he had not much experience with the powers the man possessed. Arron stayed tense & very still.

Mr. Nesdin released his grip on Arron and folded his arms in front of himself. "I've charmed your eyes. Anything you see, I will now be able to see until I lift the spell. I need to stay here and tend to my wife's needs until she's back to health, but I will provide any support I'm able to through my magic. As long as I can see the target from your eyes, I can use my magic on it." he explained simply. The man then walked into another room and came back with a large chest. "This chest contains my son's armour and sword. Please return these to him once he's been rescued."

"Oh tha's creepy." he heard Lyth say in his mind. Arron slowly nodded, trying to comprehend what had just been done to him. "I-I will do wh-whatever it-t takes. Th-Thank you." he said with a bow, "I-I'll leave immediately."

"I'll get you a pack of things to take on your journey back." the monotone-speaking fatherly figure disappeared through the doors to the kitchen to prepare said pack. "Arron, please come in here a moment!" Mrs. Nesdin called from the bedroom.

Obeying the request, Arron entered the bedroom, wondering what the mother needed. He blinked taking in the surroundings.

The room was small, with very little furniture, including only a lamp, the bed against the wall in the centre of the room, and a large dresser. Mrs. Nesdin waved her good arm to welcome Arron closer, then sat up in the bed to speak softly to him. "I'd like to thank you for bringing this to our attention and caring so much about Talbot." she said with a gentle smile not seen thus far. It was hard to believe that the same fierce woman to declare war on the slave's mistress would also be able to smile so sweetly. "My husband hasn't been able to express much emotion since we decided to live in this kingdom, for fear of appearing weak or traitorous. I hope you won't fault him for his coldness. Oh, and I promise he isn't some whacko. It must sound unnerving to have someone see things through your eyes without also explaining that it only works when the charmed one allows it mentally." It sounded a lot more invasive without that detail, so she felt the need to include it.
