"Girlfriend? Yup, that's me," Yuri said as she moved in front of the two and sitting there. "Okay, serious time; what're you guys doing?"
"I'm sitting here and she's trying to me to open up. Failing, though," Alex said, adding the last part to Haruka.
"And you're hiding. . .what now?"
"Like I told her: nothing."

"Naw...you can't be Alex's girlfriend...you're way too pretty for him." Haruka said, adding the last part slyly. "And yeah, trying to get him to talk. He's kinda like my older brother since my family decided to pronounce me 'missing' for about a year."

"Should I be insulted?" Alex asked, really confused now. "And I already have a little sister."
"Forget it and move on. That's what I say," Yuri giggled before she turned to Haruka. "Yeah, I'm his girlfriend. And according to Shin, I'm the only one who can control him, too."

Haruka thought for a bit. "Hey yeah...where is Sasha...?" She turned to Yuri. "Control him?"

"Control him. Keep him from doing something to kill himself. I don't know," Yuri shrugged, not really satisfied with her definition.
"Sasha's somewhere. . .I don't know where," Alex said, more or less just staring at the ground now.

"Killing himself? What do--" She stopped when she remembered the last time she saw Alex and Shin. In the cave...
"Ah...I see..." She murmured. She then thought a little about what Alex said.

"I'm Yuri. Nice to meet you," she said happily. She looked at Alex carefully, only now realizing something was missing. "Where'd that necklace go, anyway?"
"Confiscated," Alex answered simply, as though it were obvious.
"Why?"
"Long story I'm not about to get into."

"Welcome to the club," Alex said bitterly. He curled one hand into a fist again, only to find Yuri putting her hand on it.
"Don't get all angry again. You'll get through. And you too," Yuri added to Haruka. "If you both want, you could stay at my place."

Yuri shook her head. "It's fine, it's fine. Besides, if I didn't want you guys around, I wouldn't offer, would I?" She poked Alex on his forehead before flicking him. "Cheer up!"
"Okay, that hurt. What'd I do now?" he asked, rubbing the spot he'd been hit.
"You're either cheerful and not thinking about awful things or you 'fess up about it. No in-betweens with me."
"And you're going to make me. . .how?"
Yuri leaned forward and gave Alex a soft kiss on his lips. Once she broke away, she smiled, watching as Alex blushed a bright red.

Sasha led the way to a forest, looking around curiously and wondering when there'd been a forest in Elona. "Let's see. . .it's quiet, it's away from human society. . .yeah, I think he might be here."
