Sometimes it's hard for me to choose. I enjoy switching up the normal expectations for seme and uke, but sometimes the characters have to be written that way. Other times, it's so easy to see both characters in either role, I end up flipping a coin to decide.
Though one of my favorite ways to write those scenes is with a rather reluctant seme and a pushy uke, it just makes it more fun. ^^ (though you have to be carefull not to make the uke into a slut... sweatdrop )

Sometimes it's nice to see the cute one ride the cool one...but the cool one on top is a classic sexy and sweet position for me.

It really depends on the story... I usualy like it when the cute one is paired up with the cold one. and the cute is the uke.
but, sometimes, I really like it when the cold one is on the bottom. They usually are so cute!! whee yeah... Oh well, seme or uke, I like everything I guess.

Although I prefer the realistic notion of "switchable" characters, I also think it's really hot when the more submissive, shy partner comes out of his shell and dominates in the bedroom. The idea of breaking first impressions is always sexy.

Usually, my favorite character goes on bottom. I don't really know why, but it makes me happy. However, it makes me sad when no one else puts my ideal uke on bottom. Like, in Naruto, (Pairing: Sasuke and Naruto) Sasuke is generally on top, but I like for him to bottom. (I also think his personality kind of factors into that somewhere sweatdrop ) In Yu Yu Hakusho, (Pairing: Hiei and Kurama) I like for Hiei to bottom, because I think that Kurama's foxy soul would pop out and wanna have it his way. In Pirates of the Caribbean, (Pairing: Jack and Will) I like for Jack to be on bottom. Anyway, I think you get the point. My favorite character is pretty much ALWAYS the one I want to bottom. domokun

I go by whos cuter . I mean the cute one is def the uke , and the sexy one is the seme . I dont really take the personality , age , height , weight and other things into consideration . I believe it should be simple .

I go by the cute shy one as bottom and the one that isn't shy top..but i like it when the shy uke gets all dominant and the seme submits.

Age doesn't really matter to me. As long as the bigger or more masculine character is the seme. But if they're both sexy and about the same build, then I guess it would come to either age or experience.

I don't. I really dislike the whole fixed seme/uke deal. I write all my characters as 'switches', I suppose-- nobody has a fixed role. If they're on top, or bottom, it's just because they want to be at that time, and whoever's on bottom might be the aggressor. And there's so many other fun things to do besides just buttsex anyway, so why limit it to the standard rote scene?
