OOOOOOOOH I'm so irritated right now.

I was going to sew together a truly cute one-JSK when I discover I'm MISSING a piece which I have to wait for my mother to cut it out - she handles the long rectangles for me with her pizza-cutter roller knife. Thing.

Then I go to cut out the fabric for another JSK, and I discover that I seem to be missing some pieces. So I scrounge around and find that TWO OF THE PIECES I CUT FOR THE FIRST JSK were using the second's pattern! I CUT OUT THE WRONG PIECES. Then after I botched up that I took those pattern pieces and continued pinning down my pieces of the second JSK when I find that I'm missing the side-back panel! I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO IT. It's just GONE! And my house doesn't have much hard-floor space so now I need to trace, add seam allowance, then cut out a whole 'nother piece on the floor space I DON'T have just to FINISH cutting out the fabric to a dress I wasn't even PLANNING on making until next week all because the dress I was going to make TODAY was MISSING A PIECE.

YES, MY BLOOMERS ARE IN A BUNCH. -foaming sweet, sugary whipped cream at the mouth-

That's how my works-in-progress is coming.

This is the first dress I've ever made, so it's a bit messy. ^^;

Here's with it on (please excuse the water spots on the mirror ^^ wink

While putting the bodice and skirt together, my sewing machine jammed, causing this to happen:

Today the seam ripper is coming out and I'm going to fix it. I was too tired to re-sew it yesterday and has been bugging me since.

I still need to hem the dress. I'm not sure what to add to it, though. I'm going back to Joaans next week for some off white lace but I don't have a good idea on where to put it. Somewhere on the bodice and the skirt is all I've come up with so far ^^;. I'll have to sit down and draw the dress out today, I suppose. I also have enough leftover fabric for a ruffle at the bottom, so I'm thinking about doing that as well.

Constructive criticism on what I've done so far, please? :3

Edit: I've come across fitting issues with the bodice, so I'm just making it into a skirt. I'm adding ruffles at the bottom and am considering pin tucks.

Update from the weekend. It's a bit further along than this (all that's left is to line the top portion, and attach the lining to the invisible zipper. So almost done), but I won't be able to work on it again until the end of the week.

Back Panel without the Lacing, to better show off the elastic

I'm also starting on a fairly simple gathered waist skirt in black plaid, as part of a trade.
.....The grey plaid is going in my personal stash. ninja

I think it's perfectly fair. I'm the hunter, and you're my prey.

See, if we were equals, then it would be unfair. wink

Working on a commission out of Ruby Cotton Sateen to send to Sweden, with ivory venise and net lace.

Sans bottom ruffle (ignore wrinkles. I press seams as I work, but I wait to do a full ironing until it's done)

User Image

Bow, on a pinback so it can be removed
The lace and braid along the neckline
The lace over the bottom ruffle

There will also eventually be a belt/waist ties with gold buckle
