Why not 23? I'm pretty sure seasons are used as something like years, but don't they also use years?

I could swear they do use years, though rarely.
Anyways, I'm just wondering whether Matthias is supposed to by fairly young (not much more than a child) or just a young adult. Where in the book did Bigfoot get 23? (I haven't read it in ages...)

Hi, I'm new and I'd have to say my favorite books (have to have mora than one) would be:
Triss: Becuase it's the first one I read, and it has DAB in it.
The Outcast of Redwall: Because I liked it. So there.
The Long Patrol: Come on! HARES! Also becuase of the arboreal verdance.
and that's about it. I like all of them those are just my favorites. eek If by chance you don't konw what DAB or arboreal verdance is, PM me straight away and I will enlighten you.

Otters are the best, their brave, nice, and strong. I think more of the redwall series should be made about otters. Who else thinks High Rhulain was way too short??

Where in the book did Bigfoot get 23? (I haven't read it in ages...) I can see your point about years but maybe that's something we as readers should fill in instead. Anyway, I'd say Matthias is a young adult. Just my opinion.

Ziftam07 Why not 23? I'm pretty sure seasons are used as something like years, but don't they also use years? Found where they use years. In the original Redwall, which has a different style than the rest of the series. I think that that's the case because it was originally a single book, and he hadn't settled into the Redwall style at that point.

I've never found the term "years" used in a redwall book ever.

By the way, I hear that a new book called Eulalia is coming out in '07.
Three guesses as to what it's about, first two don't count.

Ray_Prower By the way, I hear that a new book called Eulalia is coming out in '07. Three guesses as to what it's about, first two don't count. Haha, I actually mentioned this on the OOC board... Given it can be about either badgers or hares. However, apparently Jacques confirmed it was about badgers. But badgers really aren't anything without hares, so I've got my fingers crossed still. whee

Brian Jacques says that he never puts gray area characters in his books. They're either good or evil. But what about Veil (Outcast) and Blaggut (Bellmaker)?
