Cassie nearly felt like crying...those books had been her only solace in tough times and if she had lost that then she really had nothing...she felt like crying...she sighed...
"fine!" she rolled up her sleeves and exposed scars that covered them
"my dad was an abuser and i was running away from him...i dont know what you suspect me of but my only crime is running away from that hellhole"

Cassie stared at her getting really annoyed
"well if you dont believe me that your fault" she turned her backs to them
" go to the god damn hatch by yourselves then" she sat down and was staring out to the sea
"just dont tell anyone about what i said...i sure as hell dont want pity from you so go and leave me be then" she had used up her sociability in that short space of time and had given up being nice. she wanted to be alone to sort out what had just happened

(((not like what praytell? ...she isnt evil by the way guys she just got annoyed )))) Cassie heard them talking as they walked away. she privately berated herself for losing her temper. '4 more people who hate me' she thought gloomily as she put her head in her hands.
(((ok since I_ LUV_FALLOUTBOY is so curious i will be giving Cassie flashbacks and by the way if you guys want to give your characters flashbacks go ahead))))
she remembered that night...
her dad was violently beating the crap out of her. she was curled up trying to protect herself from the blows
"ITS YOUR FAULT SHE LEFT" he screamed at her
"im sorry" she cried as he continued to beat her. he was really drunk and beyond reason
'she didnt leave because of me...' she thought
'did she?'
Cassie was 7 years old at the time

Cassie could still hear what they were saying and Jack sounded so suspicious she turned around to look at them and saw Jack looking very uncomfortable. she debated following them to see what was up she turned back towards the ocean still undecided and still listening
