Ariana turned to look at Ivan as he stepped out next to her, the breeze shifting her hair a bit in her face. She smiled at him coyly when he narrowed her eyes at her, and she reached up and pushed her hair out of her face.
"Yes ...I did mention there were more of us. I kept using the plural terms such as 'we' and 'others.' You never asked me to specify, so I saw no need." She said in her gentle voice, and looked down as Ulrik stepped out from under her, and she raised her eyebrows... Looking up as Ivan launched himself, using his hands to grab the neighboring fire escape, turning around, her gave her a sweet smile, and asked if she needed help. she caught the male pride under that offer, and she smirked at him.
"That was a rather clumsy jump." She said. "Make sure to keep up with us, Tin Can! Kep your eye to the west. ET's that way. Stick as north east as possible." She called down to Ulrik, taking a running start, boosting herself on the railing of the fire escape, launching herself up high enough, landing on the railing with her feet, using the momentum to give a smaller jump, summer saulting over him and landing gracefully behind him on the fire escape. She gave a small laugh as she ran again, and vaulted to the next fire escape, nimble as a cat. Now that she was ahead of him, she turned, and winked at him.
"Need help, my good sir?" she asked, before turning, and using jumping to an I beam sticking from the building to make the next jump easier. She finally came to an escape now with a ladder, and she climbed up it like a spider monkey, disappearing to the top of the building.

Ulrik saw them jumping from fire escape to fire escape. and herd her little jibe.it did nothing to him moving like the wind he started moving down the street covering himself as he moved. then he rounded the corner on an small Ripper devouring what was left of a cat. quickly without hesitation he raised his foot and smashed the smaller creature. it squeeled slightly right befor it died but that was enuff. outhers where comming he knew it tho he could not hear nor see them he knew it. then he started sprinting. stealth be damned he ran the fiber bundles in his legs propelling him great distences intill he outran the outhers. damn that was close, I hope the outhers are ok Ulrok thought he had outran the rippers but if there here outhers are close hiding by a building not moving at all compleatly consealed by his cloak he saw then. a brood of warriors fan f*cking tastic luckaly they where moving away from him. lets hope they dont get thoes warriors attention as he watched and waited for the outhers. .

Ivan watched her, one eyebrow cocked, as she flipped and jumped around, lithe and nimble. He had to admit to himself he admired her... technique. He laughed heartily as she used his own question against him, and no sooner did she turn her back than he followed, using not the beam and the ladder, but the window on the side of the building. They were close enough that he could grab, pull and jump all in one motion, reaching the roof at nearly the same time she did.

She's quick... he thought with a smile, but I'm in my element now. Freerunning is what I do. He walked up close to her, a grin still on his face. He locked eyes with her and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, giving it a squeeze.

"I'll admit, I'm impressed. But try doing it with thirty kilos on your back." He found himself staring into those purple eyes of hers for a bit too long and caught himself, turning away. Then a small, pained squeal made its way up to them from the street. He moved to the ledge and looked down, catching Ulrik sprinting down the street before taking cover in an alleyway. As the man slipped into darkness, a small group of the beasts came into sight. He reeled back from the ledge and dropped to his stomach, pulling Ariana down next to him. "говно! Get down!" He unslung his rifle and pulled it close, knowing that he wouldn't be able to take them all alone, but perhaps with their help... He shook the thought from his mind. They needed to be quiet, silence meant survival. He rolled onto his back, feet and rifle pointed at the ledge of the building. Softly, his lips began to move and recite the litany his grandfather had taught him. "Я не буду бояться. Страх ума убийца ..." He repeated it again and again, softly, until his heart stopped racing and the edges of his vision cleared. With that, he slid over to the edge and peeked down, watching the beasts move away and up the street. He was sure Ulrik had gone unnoticed, as he had not heard the tell-tale screeching they made.

Ariana grinned wolfishly as he came up and squeezed her shoulder. She was beginning to like this guy - he was fun. She winked at him coyly when he suggested she do it with 30 kilos on her back.
"No way. I'm just a scout buddy. That's why I found a big strapping guy like you to do all the heavy lifting." She said, letting out a girly giggle as she tilted her head, looking at him curiously. He looked away suddenly, and she blinked. Oh dear, had she said something bad? When the squeal reached her ears, she darted right along side him to the edge, watching Ulrik run up the street.
"What... oh no..." She said softly when Ivan pulled her down next to him. She looked at him, speaking the strange language she didn't understand. He prepared his gun, and chanted softly to himself. While he did this, she climbed over him, crouching as she crawled along side the ledge of the building, looking for Ulrik. She finally saw him, when he decided to sprint. She saw the warriors, and she gave a warning hiss to Ivan, standing.
"We've got to help him. They're going to spot him." she said, taking her gun out of its thigh holster. The little ones began to screech as Ulrik sprinted down the street, re-catching their attention... and with that, one of the Warriors stopped, and began to turn around.
"Well. Damn. This sucks." She said. "Hope he knows to run to Central Park." She said worriedly. "They won't come within a few blocks of that place from all sides. I don't know why. " She analyzed the situation. If she shot her gun off to help Ulrik escape, it would catch the attention of the horde of little itty bitty thingies down below... and the bigger ones. She didn't want to do that, not really. She took a runing start and leaped over to the next building, summer saulting as she landed. Best to keep up with Ulrik if she wanted to find way to help him. If she had to...she's whistle an S.O.S to the sentry that had called out to her earlier.

Ivan's litany had worked, and his heart had come back to a normal rate, but her climbing over him had not helped that cause at all. His ears flushed, much as they did when he was flustered, but he saw where she was looking. There was indeed one beast that stood off from the rest. He was lining up his sights on it when Ariana left his side, moving to another ledge. Fantastic he thought, and inwardly cursed. He reslung his rifle and followed her, being as quiet as possible as his soft-soled boots impacted the rusty steel of the fire escape. He hoped to catch up with her, stop her, so they could come up with a better plan than simply running. Running alone would do them no good. Than, off to his side, across the street, he noticed something. One of the buildings was crumbling, the street-side wall failing. He quickly looked it over, and spotted a tangle of wires near the top that seemed to be all that was holding the facade up.

He whistled after Ariana to catch her attention, then motioned at the building, using his hands to mimic shooting, then a falling building, pressing his hands together in a crushing motion and pointing at the brood below. He also gave her a wry smile as he nodded toward where Ulrik should be. Unslinging his rifle again, he shouldered it and mouthed a single word. "RUN"

Ariana stopped when she heard the short whistle, and she turned, smiling at Ivan. The boy was learning her language fast. When he mined to her, she looked across, her brow raising. Did he think that would work? She nodded to him, wanting him to go for it, but then, a very LOUD shot rang out and she dropped herself down out of shock. She realized suddenly...Ulrik... She groaned, and hit the ground with her fist slightly in irritation.
God damn military brats! Always going in guns blazing! She sat up, and crawled to the edge, and her jaw dropped. One ...warrior was done but... the other...was..growing wings?
"What the ********?" She said out loud, her voice baffled. "Ivan! SHOOT!" She called, not wanting the winged beast to get off the ground. she stood up, and pulled out her gun from its thigh holster, her purple eyes sliding to Ivan, full of confused fear.

As the shot rang out, Ivan reeled a bit, completely not expecting Ulrik to betray his position like that. He quickly shouldered his rifle again, and, as Ariana's words reached his ears, his breath paused, and the world seemed to slow to a crawl. He heard her yelling, heard the shot from Ulrik's gun echoing off the walls, heard the wings of the beast catching air. His heart contracted, and at the bottom of the pulse, his finger pulled back, putting pressure on the trigger. For what seemed like an eternity, the firing pin fell forward, inexorably, until it struck the primer. Powder turned to gas and pushed the bullet forward, simultaneously slamming the stock into his shoulder. The bullet exited the muzzle, gases flowing out in a loud boom. The copper projectile spun through the air, crossing the street, slow in it's travel to Ivan's eyes. It struck home, breaking the insulators between the wire and the wall, letting the wires fall free. Weight unbridled, the wall started to fail again, bricks shattering, boards splintering. The world sped up again, catching up with Ivan's perception until all was smooth and fast again. The shot ringing in his ears, he turned to Ariana, feet pressing against the bars below him, slinging his rifle.

"Run run run run RUN!" he yelled at her. The building leaned farther and farther, until it finally gave out and fell, its roof colliding with the edge of the one they were on. Bricks fell around them as Ivan pulled her to his feet, one hand on his rifle, the other on her waist as he pulled her along. Reaching a ledge, he literally threw her across, then backed up a few steps and followed suit. He looked back just long enough to see kilos of debris rain down on the beasts, crushing them beneath wood and stone., The one with wings tried to escape, but was cut off by a particularly large section of wall. He pulled Ariana again, pushing her in front of him, urging her to continue running until they were clear of danger. Only then did he stop and turn, searching for signs of their companion. He hoped the man had gotten clear, since it was doubtful even his armor would stand up to hundreds of tonnes of building.

Ariana watched him take aim at the building, and shoot. He'd taken less time to aim then it took her to blink...MAYBE twice. She opened her mouth and gaped as the bullet struck, and she saw the wire snap.
"Yes!" She said, turning and running as he commanded. She ran hard, but some how, Ivan caught up to her, urging her to go faster, taking her arm, wrapping his arm around her slender waist. She looked up at him as she ran, her purple eyes wide. How the hell was he running so damn fast? He picked her up and threw her across the gap. She gasped and landed hard, grunting in pain as she rolled. Quickly she got to her feet again, as Ivan jumped over once more. She ran beside him, but he pulled her again. Keeping up with him was easy enough, and she narrowed her eyes, changing her running pattern to match his so that they did not trip over each other.

When Ivan finally stopped, she was panting hard, sweat shined on her skin, and she shivered violently, exhausted. She looked back at the collasped building, she felt her heart clench with worry for the man in the armor, until she saw him pass them. She blinked as she realized they were so close to Central Park already -ah..terror was a good motivation she guessed for getting a move on. She touched Ivan's shoulder, to get his attention, gulping for air, before forcing her breath to calm itself.
"He...he made into the gates. Now we just have to get down and follow suit." She told him. "Uhm..." She said, looking at him, her cheeks suddenly burning pink. "You...thanks. Thank you...for helping me. You could have just left me but.. here we are. So...thank you." She said awkwardly, before letting out a little laugh. "Lets get into the Safe zone okay?" she heard in the distance, frantic bird calls, each different. The sentries were calling toe ach other, making sure everything was already. She responded in such, her song bird call echoing through out the eerie silence that had taken after the collapsing building.
"Come on Hero." She said, taking Ivan's hand, and tugging him forward once again, though her legs shook violently. She lead him to the ledge of the building, and began to scale down, using the windows first, then the fire escapes to climb down the 7 story building. when she reached the bottom, she took out her pistol, from its thigh holster, and cocked it, waiting for Ivan to reach the bottom.

Ivan's plan had worked flawlessly, despite the fact that even he was in slight disbelief. His heart pounded heavily, but his pulse had not changed since he loosed his bullet, nor had his breathing become any more labored. Such was his way since as long as he could remember, but he did not know why. He stood for what seemed to him like forever, watching the dust cloud settle over his handiwork. Ulrik had sprinted on below them into the boughs of green trees ahead of him. Suddenly, his mind focused again as a hand touched his shoulder. Ariana/ His eyes locked on hers, and she seemed exceptionally bright, but he knew it was from his dilated pupils. Everything returned to their true shade as the blue in his eyes followed suit, reclaiming what had been taken up by the black of his pupils. He listened to her exhausted words and chuckled again.

"It would have done us no good if I had left you, заветный. Had I done so, within sight of the park where your friends lie, no doubt Ulrik and I would have been cut down." He laughed again, a heartier laugh this time, but it was cut short when she took his hand. The sensation was familiar, but antique. He had not felt something like this for some years, and the heat from her skin resonated in his memory. He shook the images away for the time being and watched her scale down, carefully and on uneasy, spent legs. When she reached the bottom, he took a moment to work the bolt on his rifle, extracting the spent brass and replacing it with a fresh round, keeping the magazine at five. He placed the brass in his pocket.

"Look out below." He swung himself over the ledge and used a pipe to slide most of the way down. The pipe ended at about the Fourth floor, so he dropped from window to window. At the Second floor, he checked his landing zone and dropped the last twenty feet. Normally it would have been an easy task, but with the extra weight on his back and an unseen rock under his foot, he faltered and came down hard on his left knee. He rolled onto his back and cursed in pain. He quickly got up, but putting pressure on that leg sent a throbbing cloud of pain tumbling up his leg and into his spine. He quickly deduced that he'd messed something up. He pulled a pole from his tent and used that as a makeshift cane, limping over to Ariana, a sheepish, embarrassed look on his face.

"Strange to get through all of that, only to get hurt now, so close to safety." His chuckle was cut off by pain as they started moving again. Ivan handed Ariana his rifle. "It's loaded and ready. If anything comes our way, shoot."

Ulrik watched them both as they made there way to him. ariana hold his rifle and ivan is now wounded, hmm that will still not deter me as he slid his sights over Ivan. and opened his ears. there was a total of 6 of them around him he could tell from there rapid beating hearts and there heavy breathing. but one was calm ivans heart was no faster than if he has just walked away. this neded be be in Ulriks favor or he would slaughter them all "Why did you try and drop a Building on me Ivan, or would it be Ivan, Kharn of Pripyat ?" he hollered at them. his sights unwavering..

She watched him climb down, smiling at his antics, before turning her attention to their surroundings, her hands poised, ready to take aim. When an sound that landed to heavy to be a nimble person landing on their feet sounded, and a pained curse floated into the air, Ariana looked at him, her brows furrowed in worry. She took a step to him, but he quickly got up, and tested out his leg.She watched him carefully, his step. He seemed to be favoring one of his legs, stepping on it hurt. She'd not heard any crack so a sprain, or a roll. Almost worse than a break. They tended to be more sore, and a sprain tendon could take months to heal. Sighing at him when he gave her that embarrassed face, taking a tent pole out of his bag to lean on, she nodded at his words.

"If you're going to be a spider monkey, you should try to not be klutzy about it." She told him gently as she took the gun, and walking to him. "Give me. You will slow us down more carrying all of this as well. I want to get to the safe zone at least, then I will have the sentries bring out one of the wheel chairs from the camp...that is if you are not to stubborn to accept that." She gave him a coy grin, before reaching up to his shoulders and unsnapping the bag from his back. It was heavy, but she'd carried an 80 year old woman on her back from Hells kitchen to the camp before. A few blocks would be nothing. She redid the snaps and adjusted the straps so the bag wasn't uncomfortable and slid it on. She handed him her pistol. He could aim and shoot that one handed - and took the long rifle that felt foreign in her arms with both hands.

"Lets go Gimpy." She said in a cheerful voice, though her purple eyes looked down towards his foot again, worry reflecting through the light violet orbs. She paused, Ulrik's voice echoing through the empty buildings. She glared at the tin man, and shook her head. She put a finger to her mouth. She did not need the man to draw attention to them, not til they were in the safe zone. She walked calmly forward, her heart beat finally calming down.
"Glad to see he's alright." She said to Ivan quietly. "I think he may be under the impression you were trying to kill him, not save him. Hey, what was that name you called me up there?" she said, looking a bit exasperated.

I'van's embarrassment and frustration grew tenfold when she took his pack, but he was not going to object, especially as the weight difference made his knee feel somewhat better. He shook his head vehemently at her suggestion of a wheelchair, though. He may be hurt, but he would not be seen as an invalid. He noticed her unfamiliarity with a long gun, something he would have to correct. Ivan had learned long ago that one should have at least a clue as to whatever weapon they are holding in a survival situation. Too many times had people died from not knowing how to handle a pistol or shotgun. When Ariana handed him her pistol, it felt good in his hand. It was a bit small, but the grip angle and balance were perfect, and he could tell she took good care of it. Low caliber pistols weren't his first choice, but with a high-capacity magazine, it obviously served her and her slight stature well.

As they drew toward the park, his eyes narrowed when he saw Ulrik, weapon leveled at them. The man was quickly becoming a nuisance, liability, even. This would not serve any of them well. He moved forward with Ariana, showing no fear, only confidence and frustration. He chuckled again as she spoke, her words cementing the thought is his mind that Ulrik was obviously paranoid.

"заветный?" He looked down at her, a lopsided smile on his face. "It means... friend." [color-darkred]He quickly looked forward again to try and hide the traces of a flush in his face. Now was not the time for that. It would have to wait until they were at least safe and secure. As they drew closer, Ivan moved right up to Ulrik, pressing his sternum against the muzzle of the soldier's weapon, eyes steely, unwavering from the faceless helmet.

"Think for once, мудак. If I was trying to drop a building on you, I would have done so. If you hadn't noticed in your mad dash to safety, there was nothing following, save for a cloud of dust,. You should be thanking me." He turned to Ariana and gestured for her to lead the way into the park, moving beside her again. He turned his head and spoke over his shoulder at Ulrik. "Also, it would help if you knew my true title. Kharn of Pripyat was the name passed down to the baby-faced conscripts of Russia. I was called бирюк, the Lone Wolf, by my friends and companions. At least now I know which side you were on..."

Ulrik Struck Ivan in the face knocking him down so this was a bad idea to come with them he though as Ivan drew his weapon on him and he knocked it out of his hand and placing his foot on his chest pinning him to the ground. there was only enuff pressure to keep him from grabing the gun and would not want to cause him unneeded pain. "Kharn means betrayer" Ulrik said matter of factly looking in Ivans face to see the rage as the words struck home. "said to me by thoes you once served with, not the foolish conscripts. and the next time you insult me will be your last" he said as he started walking away I see I can trust no one. as always my master was right. the shadows are my only friend as he walked past the girl he paused looking ahead "be carefull around him Girl. He is indead a lone wolf. but think of how one gets that title" he said and started walking again. who knows they may try and shoot him in the back but he would be ready throwing hid hood over his head and making his outline shimmer.
