"I was hoping to rejoin Heichi-sama. He was taking me to meet Omiko-sama when I felt ill. I recovered and wish to continue back to meet her." Hoping that was enough to get her back in, although she doubted it.

Hearing Miyako's explanation, the guard pauses, looking over at the other two. One would nod to him, before he turns back to the Shosuro.

"We art on high alert, and thou cannot see the lady Omiko without a chaperone. We shalt see if Ninsei-san canst return to tending to thee; he is in session with our Lord presently. Shalt we send for him?"

"I understand." She was still having a bad feeling about all this, and somehow, she felt seeing the little girl would either soothe her fears or confirm them, she wasn't sure which but she had no other direction in which to go. She had no idea of what was true and real anymore and it scared her more than the things that could tangibly harm her. "Yes, please. If you would." Pretty words and pretty deeds, to hide the seeds.

She would wait patiently, trying to maintain her own calm.

One of the other guards turn and head inside the castle, the other two standing post in silence. They watched Miyako with interest, or perhaps curiosity, but said nothing.

Probably a good 15-20 minutes would pass before the guard returned, Heichi Ninsei in tow.

"Shosuro-san, I taketh it that thou art feeling well again?" Ninsei would ask, moving past the guards. "Hast thou eaten? Mayhaps dietary reasons might be thy reasons for illness." Ninsei would sound legitimately concerned, which could be a combination of you being a guest (albeit unexpected) of his minor clan, and possibly because he doesn't want you fainting in front of royalty again.

Miyako nodded, "I fear you might be right. I'm not sure I recall the last time I ate. Then again, many things seem unclear." Hopefully, the girl would clear those up or she would find a way to feel at ease. She wasn't sure she'd ever escape this nightmare. She also wished she could remember what had really happened to the Boar Clan but she wished a great many things, most of which were not about to come about.

"Is there any bright outlook for yourselves?"

"Well, our guest is overseeing the preparation of a feast to boost the morale of my people. It will be at sunset, and thou art welcome to attend. There will be plenty of food," Ninsei would say, inviting Miyako to the festivities planned for later.

"The Boar have always been a strong and united community, albeit a short-lived one. We will make our stand tomorrow with bellies full and heads held high. Is that the bright outlook thy requested?"

With a somewhat forced half-smile, he would gesture for Miyako to follow him. "Omiko-sama is in her room. Let's see if this child has any answers thou seeks."

--------------------

Miyako would be led through several halls into the belly of the Boar Castle. It is a sturdy structure, but filled with many elaborate tapestries and banners, paintings and statues. It's not out of the question that the amount of koku spent on decor here exceeds that of Kyuden Bayushi itself!

Soon, Ninsei would rap on the frame of the door to a room, and announce his presence. "Omiko-sama? It's Ninsei. I hath a guest that requests a moment of thine time."

With a meek, barely audible response, he would slide open the door and bow, before gesturing for you to enter.

Inside is that girl you saw at the marketplace when you first awoke, clutching a doll fiercely in her grasp. The same girl from last night, except definitely healthier and wearing no trace of white. Her room itself is decorated with lots of fancy, valuable dolls, rugs, and scrolls, and is aligned with golden candelabra, though most light flows in from the lace curtained window.

She seems rather taken aback by your presence, and says nothing at first.

((I fail. ^_^;; ))

"That is as bright as possible. I would be honored." Facing it with honor and dignity, something had to be given credit even if a bit foolish in her mind. But she followed him nonetheless to Omiko's room. She did however observe the girl's demeanor and it brought nothing but new puzzles to her mind. Bowing respectfully, she greeted the girl as pleasantly as possible.

"Thank you for seeing me, Omiko-sama."
Not much else at this point, as she was the guest.

The little girl would clutch the doll tightly to her chest, shaking her head, pigtails waving two and fro. "Who... who art thou? What dost thou want from me?" she asks sheepishly, VERY anxious and nervous about this encounter with the mystery lady from this morning.

Ninsei gives a look between Omiko and Miyako, but says nothing.

Somehow, the tiniest of scorpions frightened the boar. The imagery of it all made Miyako inwardly smile despite her concerns. With a sincere smile, she knelt in front of the girl. "I wanted to see the pretty girl who spoke to my dreams and Ninsei-san here thought the girl I described was you. You do look as she looked, but I fear you are not her. But I thank you for allowing me audience." Once more her head inclined before she stood, small tears gathering at her eyes. If she was to die here, so be it, she only wished there was something that could be done, but the Fortunes would have their way.

The little girl would shrink away from Miyako as she knelt, very scared. She gave a concerned look up to the more familiar Ninsei, who caught her gaze.

"Cometh along, Shosuro-san. Let's let our princess be." He would gesture for her to follow him away. Bowing deeply to Omiko, he would stand and slide her door shut.

"So whither to, stranger? Thou soundeth like thou lost the last of thine hope just now," Heichi Ninsei would ask, stopping in a side hallway of the castle. He turned his back to the wall and awaited Miyako's response.

"Thank you, Omiko-sama. May the Fortunes bless you." She said gratefully before following Ninsei out of the room. It wasn't the girl's fault that there were no answers to be found. Once outside, Miyako was uncharacteristically subbdued.

"I wish I knew. Heichi-san. I think whatever purpose I did have was lost as I have lost my companions."

"I will giveth the word to the guards to keep watch for fellow Scorpions that mayhaps become lost in the mountains," Ninsei would say, bowing his head towards Miyako.

"I must attend to my duties prior to tonight's feast. Thou art welcome to partake of the city in the meantime," he would explain, escorting Miyako back towards the gate of the castle. "I sense no ill intention in thee, and as such, thou shalt remain our honored guest until... we part ways."

Does Miyako have any plans she wants to accomplish in the meantime before the feast that evening?

Permission to skip ahead given by player...

After parting ways with Heichi Ninsei, Shosuro Miyako would wander around the "ancient" city for some time, observing the people clearing a large area in the city square, bringing tables and torches and platters and bowls and cups and mats and everything. As the sun fell and the sky darkened, a seasonably warm summer breeze would flow through Shiro Heichi, making it an exquisite night for a feast.

Soon, torches would be lit, though it would seem to be more of a signal than anything as a bright rising full moon on a cloudless sky provided plentiful illumination, the large silvery presence of Lady... no, LORD Moon making itself known to everyone within its reach.

Samurai began to gather, little by little, before festivities even began. Some took note to Miyako's presence, but otherwise ignored it in favor of celebration.

As people begin to gather, what is Miyako up to?

It was a beautiful night and if she was to die, why shouldn't she enjoy her last night as well. She touched up some items and was certain to wear her mask but other than that, she was mostly the same as the others, warming up for the ceremony and looking for those friends she had made earlier to make amends for her hurried departure.

As it happened, Miyako saw one of the two girls she had met earlier, who arrived just before she did with presumably her parents. It was Heichi Tamafune, the taller of the two girls. There was no sign of Heichi Sumie, however.

"Oh, Miyako-san!" Tamafune would say. She would look over her shoulder at her father, who gave a brief nod before going back to a conversation with several other older samurai. Tamafune would hurry over to Miyako's position, and she was definitely done up very beautifully, her makeup masterfully done. The style was a bit dated, but not unlike some paintings Miyako had seen in her youth of samurai-ko of ages past.

"I had heard thou had departed with thine companions. What art thou still doing here still?" she would ask, a hint of concern in her voice, though she expressed a pleasant demeanor.
