Matasoga elyzia What really concerns me about a "Heaven"-type subforum is that it sounds like it would kind of be founded upon the same rules, principles, & ideas that this guild was founded on. How can we actually expect anyone to take our claims of Burn being "accepting of everyone" & "having a friendly enviornment" & being "drama-free" seriously if there's an individual subforum dedicated to no drama, trolls, etc. ? All the same things that subforum would aim to be about & enforce I am to make this entire guild about & enforce. I mean, I know that subforum is a popular idea, & I'm definitely willing to consider it if it can be reworked a little; but changes would certainly have to be made to the current concept. Once again, Heaven -has- no unifying topic, at all, whatsoever. It's sole reason for existing it to give a home to people that haven't gotten any bans (or is it warnings?) in the last... I heard it was year. There is no other reason for it to exist. Based on the fact that we have no ability to measure that, there is no reason for us to make a sub-forum on that premise- We can't. Without that one factor, there is no Heaven. Honestly, I made a motion for the holiday sub-forum, but since (right now, anyway) the polls indicate that as many people want us to leave it alone than as want you to make any particular change, I'd rather change my vote to also mention that we just leave it alone.
What the whatttt...?! You have to actually GET ACCEPTED into Heaven... ON GAIA? Seriously?
I had absolutely no idea that people who had received "warnings" or whatever from Gaia weren't "allowed" to post in that forum! I just figured it was open to everyone... I mean, I don't know, it didn't occur to me that that wouldn't be the case, since every other forum on Gaia's like that, & the first I actually heard of that forum was when someone suggested that we create a subforum just like that in Burn & other people were in favor of the idea...
If that's actually what that forum's all about then ******** that forum & ******** that idea for a subforum. It all just sounds like a bunch of Elitist crap to me.
As for the Blogs subforum, I'm quite frankly really starting to get pissed off at how so many people want to keep it around yet practically nobody ever even posts in it, & perhaps more importantly nobody has come up with much of anything in the way of ideas regarding how to increase activity in that subforum & make it so it's NOT entirely dead.
I mean, how is it that 16 people voted to keep that subforum when 16 different people haven't even POSTED in that subforum within the past THREE MONTHS. Literally.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd love to somehow make the Blogs subforum work out. As I stated from the very beginning, I've held off for as long as I possibly can on getting rid of that subforum because I love the idea behind it so much. But the fact of the matter is is that the Memorable Threads subforum might even be more active than the Blogs subforum, & the Memorable Threads subforum is for dead threads. How can so many people want a subforum to stay if they don't want to post in it?

Let Me Live Lady Kira X I guess I just think of comps & consoles xP Oh well. I will make it into my nerd dungeon. How many crew members are really nerdy gamers?
Up the activity of the crew in the forum might inspire more posts overall. I'd help you nerd it up-- but at the moment, my interests are limited to Resident Evil, Left 4 Dead(s), and Bioshock: Infinite (which I'm freaking out about, just a little bit).
Then again, I just got a Kinect. And I've got a little Final Fantasy, Doom, and Devil May Cry discussion in me. We could probably flood the forum... first person shooter vs. camera over shoulder, female protagonists vs. male, co-op games: like or dislike?, best outfit designs, etc. I'm getting excited. I'm a gamer.... My nose is currently buried into a Silent Hill game. But I own various games from various places, such as Fatal Frame to Resident Evil to Soul Calibur and have played/watched someone play Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Persona, and all kinds of other stuff. I'm an MMORPG player too, thanks to some real good friends. So all in all - this member is a REALLY nerdy gamer. whee

I voted for the fashion thread. It seems to be keeping up quiet well with the other sub-forum ideas as well, but my own honest idea for a sub-forum, would possibly be a Fashion/DIY sub-forum. It's my personal favorite hobby, and my own form of therapy. DIY stands for 'Do-it-yourself' if you didn't know.
DIY comprises of home-made fashion, and other projects around the home, and even environmental up-cycling (Takes the crap around your home and turning it into something useful, or something that you will enjoy again). The thread could be showing tutorials for DIY's and or asking for help. I could help a lot with the thread since it's my favorite thing in the world to do..
This is just my little idea, I figured I would put it out there :]

Speaking solely from a personal standpoint, I'd actually love a Fashion/DIY subforum, since both those topics are really right up my alley o to speak. (I make & sell jewelry to help compensate for the fact that due to medical reasons I can only work a part-time job, so DIY is actually part of my daily life.) As much as I personally might enjoy that subforum, though, I just can't see it being super popular. I mean, it's clearly a good idea & one that I'll certainly keep in mind for the future -- since Burn does change up its subforums like a couple times a year or something... I'm really not sure how often we change a subforum since I've never really thought about it, but it certainly happens here more often than it does in most guilds.
The main reason I'm so hesitant to make a Fashion/DIY subforum is because I feel like it would definitely be catering to females, & that's bound to greatly impact its activity level.
It does really bother me, though, that I've just now realized that if I were to create a DIY thread I wouldn't even know what subforum to put it in.
Perhaps I can find a way to integrate DIY into the Resources & Guides subforum, since DIY would of course primarily consist of guides & tutorials & whatnot, & there's no reason that the Resources & Guides subforum should be limited to Gaia-related Resources & Guides. Naturally, how to rework all that is something I'll have to give more thought to, but I'm thinking I'm going to try & incorporate it into there (as well as resources & guides pertaining to any other real life stuff besides DIY)

Yeah. Try creating a new account. Heaven won't show up. Maybe you have to reach a certain post count without getting banned, first. I dunno, but I know that not everyone gets in, automatically. As for the sub-forums, I dunno. Like I said, I voted for the Holiday thing, but the support is there. Has it being threatened not boosted activity? I haven't checked it out. I'm not a blogger... So don't keep it for me. To tell you the truth, though, I'm going to check into Crew now and then as I'm supposed to, try and keep up with the Art and Extended Discussion and Debate but aside from that only post on something that shows up on the queue. I may not get around a whole lot more than that.

If you're going to at least take my idea into consideration, you should try to actually read the idea beforehand instead of taking someone else's interpretation(that is off) as what it's about. And, even if you DID do this, you don't have to sound so bitchy about it, ESPECIALLY where the poster who suggested it can READ it. I think that if you did the holiday thread maybe you might have more people posting because who dose not like stuff for holidays even if it's just something small.or just being able to find out what kinda holiday people really like or dislike, just a idea,

Whoa there. No need to go so far. I'm sure elyzia didn't mean to bash on you or your idea.
I can see why the idea Heaven subforum can be very appealing (as a theory, it appeals to me too), but if you keep track of the past discussions, I'm not sure it's practical enough to be well enforced.
I'm taking your words out of context, so if I'm misinterpreting anything, please feel free to correct me right away, but to me, it seems that the main gist of your idea is essentially a "drama-free zone," that's "troll free for the most part, and "if you're caught being bad or out of line you'll get an official guild warning."
But, if we create this Heaven subforum based solely on that concept, doesn't that action then carry the implication that all other subforums can be full of drama and have lots of trolls? That you can be bad or out of line in all other subforums without the risk of carrying an official guild warning?
I'm not saying your idea is bad - I'm just saying that, ignoring the impracticalities of enforcing this "haven" of sorts, it'd seem wrong to only care/regulate one subforum, when really all of our subforums should be that way. If you read the guild rules, all subforums are expected to be "drama-free." True, trolls are a problem, but to almost draw a distinction where trolls are explicitly not allowed and then kind of not allowed doesn't seem like the right solution.

I'm feeling the fashion and style thing, people can compare their styles too see what makes them look better. I'm a guy, but I still enjoy looking good and keeping up with clothing when I can.
