F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Ace walked forward forcing himself to walk up tall and not show how exhausted he was. Being around people he wasn't familiars with, he got nervous especially with mages. Still, he had people here who supported his father so he hoped they could recognize him since he was tinny and help him. Despite the anxiety, he walked a lot looser still and he wasn't as tense visibly. The atmosphere was full of relaxing magic kind of vibes that surprised him, but he still felt a lot better. He rubbed his forehead and wiped the sweat off of his face before pulling his hood down over his eyes to where the exhaustion in them wouldn't be visible. Or at least he hoped.
"We are going to go see someone I haven't seen in forever. Hopefully she should be able to help think of something to get you our of your issue," he said quietly before he stopped at a small house that looked barely big enough for a single bed, but he still pushed the door to the side without even knocking. Though, he did it open handed and on a specific mark that glowed bright when he touched it. He pushed the door open and yelped pushing Aesa back just clear of a solid crystal staff that still managed to smash into his ribs. He grunted before he looked up glaring pulling his hood back. "Marri! Its me, relax!" he said through pants looking at the royal purple cloaked woman who had a black cloth wrapped around her eyes. Her golden blonde hair fell over her shoulders in gorgeous curls making her look young, but the hint of wrinkles gave away her older age.
"Jackson Riddley, thank goodness you are okay darling. I was afraid you were going to get terribly sick before you saw me," she said quietly before walking over to him and putting a hand on his cheek. "You got so much taller, and handsome, just like your father. You still though are terribly sick, your friend was right to have you laying down." She walked past him over to Aesa and gently pushed her hood back looking at her and nodded quietly not saying anything until she finally said, "Come forth child, no need for magic here, its safe. Nothing but ourselves can reach us here," she said gently before walking back to a mat and waved her hand in the air and the whole house seemed to expand and it became a huge home the size of Ace's but covered in the magic's symbols and such along with talismans, decorated fabric, and other jewels. She walked into another room that seemed to be the kitchen where there was a ton of food from the previous meal. "Help yourselves, and feel free to take care of Ace if you feel fit. That boy needs someone to chain him down at times. He's going to kill himself if he keeps this up," she said softly like a loving mother scolding her child. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Marri looked at Aesa and smiled before she pulled the cloth back from her eyes revealing the same strange colored ones as Ace had only more violet than his. Though, the pupils weren't normal, they were slightly cloudy showing her blindness, but she didn't mind them being shown around here with Ace and his new friend apparently. "Glad to see a good mage. My dear, it makes little sense to me why you are here, but I figure Jack has that answer for you," she said with a smile still before she left her and wondered over to around the kitchen even though she knew exactly where everything was. She pulled out a glass and poured her a simple weak wine, but didn't give any for Ace curious enough.
"Marri, please. She has no time for--"
"She? And how does Miss Aesa not have time for this?" Marri asked curiously with a slight scowl for the young man's impatient attitude to get going already. It drove her insane how set he was on moving as fast as he could. She put the back of her hand on the man's face before sighing loudly putting both hands on his cheeks and kissing his forehead softly continuing to treat him like a son. "Jackson, you are no shape to be going or doing anything, you are driving yourself into the ground. Listen to Aesa, and let her take care of you or let me. Don't push yourself so hard," she whispered to him looking into his eyes even though her sight was gone.
"I respect your decisions, but I would rather run myself into the ground than let her die," he whispered to her back looking into her violet eyes with a fire in them still. "I need to know how to get the council on her side to avoid her hanging. Please, Marri?" he asked with his voice fading from being so exhausted and barely standing now. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

As Marri removed the cloth shielding her unseeing eyes Aesa nodded in recognition. A seer then. She knew enough about her thief too understand he wouldn't be receptive to the idea of her staying and chatting up their hostess. But the very idea of having the opportunity to learn from one as clearly powerful as Marri - who lived in the lowerworld no less! It was enough to make her hands itch with anticipation of writing her findings down.
Aesa took the proferred wine from the old woman but before she could voice her thanks the Marri left her side to speak privately with Ace. Not wishing to intrude on their conversation, Aesa drifted from their company, moving towards the sette. There was a comfortable looking quilt that appeared handmade drapped over the back of the furniture that was all but begging to be wrapped around someone. Taking a seat she leaned against the couch and closed her eyes, letting their soft whispers lull her into a semi-concious state.

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Ace looked up seeing Aesa excuse herself and Marri snapped his attention back to him grabbing the front of his coat rather roughly. "Listen Jack, you aren't putting yourself through this again. I'll tell you what you want, but you have to rest first, then you can go," she said in a voice that was still motherly but cold. "There's a war brewing inside the council, there's a staff that could tip the scales in favor of Aesa's side, the good guys. If you could do that, tons of lives could be saved and She would be in favor again," she said quietly before she yelped.
A resounding bang echoed through the tall house fallowed by a groan. Ace had fallen to the ground hitting the table on the way down. A deep cut gashed across his brow above his eye and his lip was split from biting it on the way down. "Dammit," he muttered quietly sucking the blood from his lip. He started getting up before his head sunk down again in pain groaning. He put his hand to his head feeling the blood on his finger tips. He pulled his hand down leaving four lines of blood before he closed his eyes tightly. "I hate this," he muttered.
"Relax, you'll be fine in a little bit," Marri said unfazed before she slipped a piece of paper into his coat. "You need sleep. Don't worry about Alex, she'll be there in the morning. Listen to her some times, women know what they are talking about," she said patting his chest before standing up and grabbing cold water to put on his forehead. Still, she would wait for Aesa to have a look at him since she wasn't good in medicine, only information, data. Not being able to truly see him, she couldn't care for him. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Ace tensed up with the cloth on his forehead as it felt like someone was holding a flame to it. Yet, it still felt good. He closed his eyes tightly before the pain went away. He opened his eyes feeling her thumb on his chin and he looked up at her before closing his eyes with her rubbing his jaw relaxing him a lot. "I don't like being still," he said softly with her touch automatically soothing. He sighed opening his eyes again looking up at her softly. He sighed and rubbed his eyes softly before closing his eyes and laying still with his breathing normal, but he was still feverish.
Marri nodded at her question for somewhere to lay him down at. She walked around him quietly before out into the main part of the home picking up the robe and smoothing out the wrinkles. "I have a spare room he can lay down in, I hope you plan on having him sleep more than the night, sun will be up in a few hours. Still, good luck with your plan. That boy's been nocturnal since I can remember," she chuckled walking out of the room finding stairs that were in the back of the room. She walked up the winding case quietly before vanishing into a large room that wasn't decorated like all the others. There were paintings on the ceiling, but not ones of a well known artist. They were of dragons, knights, mages, a moon and a sun in the same sky. The walls were very plain and the only other furniture from the bed in that room was a chest that held nothing. She fixed the bed with clean, dark red sheets and opened the silvery red drape to let the moon's light cast it's glow inside the room. Satisfied, she waited for Aesa and Ace to make their way up here and get him sleeping. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

Aesa did not even try to halt her eyes from rolling at his comment. "Yes Master Thief - you have made that abundently clear to me." Her nickname for him had taken on a different tone as she grew to know him somewhat better, sounding lighter and a bit more playful. As she finished with her ministrations she continued to rub along his jaw, wondering along with Marri how she was possibly going to keep so active a male still long enough for his body to recupperate. Nodding her head decisively even though his eyes were closed and could not see the gesture, Aesa decided she knew what it would entail. Whatever was necessary.
Again she took him by the arm, smililng through the effor, "You know Ace, this is starting to become a trend. Me saving you from the floor - perhaps I shall be the knight in shining armor and you can be my damsal in distress." She was not very good at putting others at ease and even poorer when it came to jesting but the thought behind it was well meant. As they struggled their way to up the stairs, pausing every few steps to catch their collective breath Aesa pondered what had caused her life to lead her to this exact moment. If she hadn't been in the Vault she wouldn't have apprehended Ace, in which case he wouldn't have been there to rescue her, in which case she would have probably be in a cell right now - if not worse.
Finally they reached the room in question and again Aesa manuevered him onto the bed, rolling him about when necessary. Sighing a breath of relief, Aesa rolled her shoulders and stretched out her arms, giving a bit of relief to her abused muscles. Now that Ace was taken care of she could relax herself, not having been used to such grueling excercise as tonight's running and climbing her body was doing its best to make its protest clear to her. Gently taking her robe back from Marri she ran a hand down the side, feeling for the tellatale bump of the small box Ace had absconded with. After laying it out lengthwise on the chest she smiled at the woman and bowed her head again. "Many thank to you Marri for you hospitality to the both of us." Without another chair available she simply sat on the edge of the bed near ace's waist and watched him, mentally willing him to recover. One small portion she could help with at least - leaning over she took both hands to cradle his face, murmuring for him to be still while she did this and reminding him it would be uncomfortable to be sure. With the pads of her thumbs she gently rested on the gash o his forehead along with the cut on his lip. Closing her own eyes she mentally reached for the inner calm inside her where her limited healing energies were held - it helped her progress there that she herself was so tired but that same feeling held back her powers as her body cried out for sleep. Whispering words of minimal power she poured herself into him, stitching and mending both wounds and taking away the bite of his headache. Well at lease he wasn't concussed. "I wish I were more skilled in healing, but my talents lie elsewhere. Only rest will help his body recover from the exhaustion he has forced upon it." Even though the words were directed to Marri they were for Ace's benefit as well.

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Ace stood up and walked the best he could with her climbing the stairs falling asleep as he did. He laid down softly in the bed biting his lip slightly in pain as he did so before he closed his eyes laying still. He looked at her quietly before closing his eyes pushing back the blankets and rolling over onto his side. He winced though uncomfortable in this bed finding it hard to sleep in since it wasn't his. He relaxed again with her cold hands against his burning up face, he winced a little bit, but he relaxed again feeling the pain going way again. Gratefully, he laid back and rubbed his eyes looking at her own tired form. He looked over at Marri seeing her bow and then leave them for downstairs again after Aesa spoke, but not saying a word back.
He looked at her softly before he sat up getting rid of the clothes and sharp objects he didn't need that pointed into his side painfully. He pulled the sash off of his body letting it drape across the floor in a colorful river. He slid his sword off, his dagger, a few hidden weapons, and then his coat dropping it in a pile with his weapons on top. He looked at her for a second before pulling his shirt off. He was decorated in faded and newer scars from arrows, blades, and magic alike that seemed to add to his rugged personality and shape. His muscles were all shaped by the demanding life he lived with just about every muscle visible and traceable against the tan skin. Ace didn't seem to really care as he nuzzled back into the bed pulling the blanket up to his chin curled up slightly. He looked up at Aesa quietly noticing again how tired she was.
"If you are tired, ask Marri if you could use her room," he said softly, "or you could just lay here." It wasn't his way at flirting at all or trying to get her closer to him even though he was enjoying her company slowly trusting her more and more. He didn't want her to save him and then be so tired she couldn't come with him when he was "okay" to go on what ever little quest that Marri had given him to help keep Aesa alive and well. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Ace smiled and laughed a little bit moving so she wasn't laying on the edge of the building. He looked at her quietly up into her eyes quietly uncurling himself and letting the blanket fall back a little bit so he wouldn't fall asleep. "I was born as the Prince of Thieves, my father was known as the King. If you needed anything, that's what you came to us for. We could give you anything, we were the top of the world, until he died," he said softly closing his eyes sighing loudly before looking at her. He looked at her quietly waiting for the next question curiously wanting to know what else she wanted to know. He was an open book and she'd kind of saved him a few times. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark

Aesa smiled up at the ceiling, moving in closer to him as he began to tell his fanciful tale. "The prince of thieves....it sounds very romantic Ace. I am sorry for your lose of your father and I suppose...throne?" Here she met his eyes to show her sincere regard in the matter. What a strange life he must have lived before - something straight from a fairy tale. Aesa was a very factual person and had a hard time imagining what his every day life would have consisted of - she found herself wanting to know it all. "How old were you when he passed? Were you not the heir?" She was rather unclear on the heigharchy in such things as the council is all she had known her life. The scholar in her wanted to grill him for information but she was being conscious of his energy level, not wanting to tax him too heavily. Again she found herself distracted by his uncovered state and all the battle wounds that adorned his person.

F a t e lies ahead Like the sun will rise The light has been gone far too long From your e y e s Λϲє Ace blushed a little bit at the idea of him being romantic. He just couldn't see it. He never had a date and sure he had women hitting on him, but he never did anything. "I wasn't that little. I was sixteen when that happened, and he risked his life to save mine and my sister's. His death was the cause of multiple wounds after our escape and I ended up killing the man who delivered the final blow to my father. I'm the heir, but you know how if you are almost killed and banished practically, its a little hard to take down an army to get back what is your birthright," he said shrugging softly. He rubbed a scar that was just above where his heart was before he nuzzled back down again shifting his weight a little bit before looking at her again. "I'm an open book, go ahead and ask what you want," he said softly looking at her curiously. With her asking him questions, it let him know who she was, what kind of person just by her questions. So far it was evident though that she was curious. ::=======>> ⅩⅠⅠⅠ <<=======:: The light in your eyes keeps fading out The night's falling d e e p e r the heart Hiding the truth and crashing down My baby's a dancer in the dark
