She blinked as the drinking girl spoke. Ah... yes.... that would make sense! The man who had handed her a handkerchief was a... "Vampire!" Sayomi burst out suddenly, gazed fixed upon the being. She covered her mouth with her hands, as if the act might muffle her already spoken word. She shifted uneasily upon her seat, embarrassed at her outburst. "I... um... sorry...." She murmured, gazing downwards. She pulled shifted her folded wings and pulled uncomfortably at her cloak once more.

Seamus rolled his eyes and turn toward the inn keeper. "If you don't mind, I would like to stay in 13A and Rachel would like 13B". He picked Rachel up and swung her over his shoulder, leaving the lobby.

Cyra ghosted closer before stopping a few paces on the other side of the man. Glancing down she raised one eyebrow before picking up one of the frogs, staring at it as it stared back. After a long moment she set it back down and looked at suwako curiously, "I don't think I have ever heard of someone who spoke to frogs, it has to be interesting to say the least."

Suika looked over to Sayomi "vampire? i guess that would make sense" it was hard to tell if Suika was teasing Sayomi or was actually serious "either way vamps only feed on humans so no worries here" she added

The vampire glanced to Sayomi, the first time he had broken his iron gaze from the door. He was still expressionless but at this point, he knew he needed to calm this one's nerves before anything drastic occurred. Although he hated speaking of himself, he knew that he needed to depend on these people in case of danger so he gave them a little, just to put them all at ease.
"Yes, I am. You needn't worry, I can control my bloodlust. My mission is to educate others to the truth of vampirism and perhaps even educate my kin to control themselves. I feed off of the emotional energy of other beings when I cannot partake in blood by ethical means."
He then glanced over to Suwako.
"To answer your question, no, the rapier is not my only weapon." He then retrieved a fearsome silver dagger from inside his coat. When shined against the light, one could see a red reflection from it.
"This is my blood-letting dagger should I need to feed. As stated before, I am adept at controlling my bloodlust and will only drink if I absolutely must."
He then showed Suwako the inside of his cape. The cape was woolen on the outside and silken on the inside. The fibrous texture of the inner cape suggested other fibers were woven into it.
"Although not traditionally a weapon, this mantle is effective for fencers. The sheen on the inside can shine in the absence of any light therefore providing a distraction. Of course, only if I will it to. It is also rather good at repelling flames which I don't think anyone finds enjoyable to say the least."
When he was finished speaking, he assumed his stoic visage and stiff posture and remained looking at the door.

"Well traveled, no. Well trained, yes"
He looked to Suwako once more.
"Let us just say I've learned everything I know now from a very dear friend of mine," his face then broke into a frown, the first bit of emotion he had shown any of them.
"It is of no matter however, what matters is that you are all safe. Diligence is something I've learned to be better at. Mayhaps if I'd shown more, less tragedies would occur, yes?"
He then buried his face in his hands for a moment before assuming the posture.

Willow at last returned from the kitchen, seeming refreshed and ready to face the crowd in needed. The large number of creatures that had gathered inside the inn was disturbing; it was as if something had drawn them. She shivered, wishing for the quiet peace that she had once lived in.
Once she passed the group that had amassed around the girl with wings, Willow pulled out a rag and started wiping down the tables. Strangely enough, this was one of the things she figured she was going to miss the most: the monotonous list of daily chores, undisturbed any guests. Yet things had changed now, and she figured that she had better adabt quickly to her new surroundings; she was not going to be alone anymore.

"Do not apologize for things fate had in mind. We are all under the gaze of some force, something stronger, better, smarter than us. There is no way for me to know why he died as I am simply a creation, not an immaculate "God" or whatever the modern parlance is for it. I hold guilt, yes, that is what is left that makes me human. I hold onto it to remind me of my past and I shall continue to. So I say to you again, Suwako, do not apologize for things out of my control and your's. Live a full life, do kindly to all you come across, be true to yourself, find that calling, the path we are all destined to follow."
He breathed heavily for a moment as his eyes flashed white. This happened when he passed into the astral realm. Although he was in meditation, he was still able to focus on all things around him.

As Willow approached one of the front windows, a sudden chill ran down her spine. She looked out into the mirky darkness, trying to discern whether her feeling had meant anything. Suddenly, two small red circles of light appeared, reflected by the lights that were on inside. Startled, Willow stumbled back and collided with a chair, which sent her sprawling across the floor.

Bartheyamus snapped from his meditation, quickly and gracefully springing from his stool and kicked it across the room to get it out of his way. He drew his sword and dagger in one fluid motion.
"What's going on?" he asked as he helped Willow up.
