I was torn at the beginning. I understand everyones opinion on who they prefer. Gale is a good friend to katniss and has been there and care for her family. I liked both guys in the beginning. But then as I go through more of the book I'd choose peeta ^^
I agree totally with Nephilim_Hinata with her thoughts on both boys smile

I would always say team gale.I don't see peeta teachin her to make an efficent snare.Gale was there to encourage and support all the time since they met.Besides who wants a sissy guy who cries and can't protect and you have to protect him.Gale always had her back.Peeta only had her back (besides the frickin bread part!)the day of the reapin.plus he made her look like a wimp pof some star~crossed~lovers thing.Guys! it's either team gale OR the wimpy sissy peeta

Well, either is good, really, but she has already made her descision.
Though Gale taught her about snares and so on adn they were friends for most of their lives, he has a sort of destructive and revengful side, where, as Katniss put it, "There weren't enough mountains to destroy.", due to the expression on his face, and she did not wish to have that. That, and he already had a few girlfriends/shared a few kisses already. But, you can't blame him for wanting a rebellion, since life is unfair in Panem. Though, wanting a rebellion from the start kind of makes him look destructive and such, though all he wanted was freedom from the Capitol.
Peeta, on the other hand, is wimpy at times, yes, but also nice and caring. He soothed the morphling girl until she dies by talking about painting, and also gave Katniss the bread (now who could forget that). He has a clever side, which he showed all the time at the Capitol and during the games, and a protective side, saying that he would yell and make the people find him if Katniss went and tried to get Peeta his medicine for his leg. He never forced himself on Katniss to see what it was like, really, and he tried to protect Katniss by showing her what she had to live for and, when he was injectd with the Tracker Jacker venom, tried to protect her again by telling them to kill him. And when Katniss had chosen Gale, he accepted it and became friends with her, doing normal things together. He never wanted anything, really, but for Katniss to notice him; he never wanted any sort of rebellion, but he too wanted freedom from the Capitol, without blod shed, tough.
I am probably missing facts on both of them, but still. Either is good for her.

However i don't like his actor; Liam Hemsworth.
But I'm IN LOVE with Peetas actor; Josh Hutcherson.

I think that for Katniss, Peeta is the better of the two. Both of them have strong ties to Katniss, but it is Peeta who constantly fought for the survival of Katniss.
He wanted nothing but for her to be safe and happy. He sacraficed his own life countless times to save her. He held her at night when she had nightmares. There is no one that could be on the same level as Katniss.
Going through the arena, twice. Tortured by Snow, and still he tried to save Katniss from the attack from the Capitol.
He truly loves her. Not saying that Gale doesn't, but that Peeta's unconditional love for Katniss is something that she can't survive without, she can survive without Gale.
Which is why I choose Team Peeta!

Team Gale all the way! He will always win! scream He can shoot and hunt mrgreen . Peeta can only bake bread xp (no offense to team peeta.)

Well I really liked Gale in the first book but I found as time went on, I was cheering for Peeta all of the way!
