"Oh, the days of the Kerry dancing Oh, the ring of the piper's tune Oh, for one of those hours of gladness Gone, alas, like our youth, too soon! When the boys began to gather In the glen of a summer's night And the Kerry piper's tuning Made us long with wild delight! Oh, to think of it Oh, to dream of it Fills my heart with tears!"
Faylenne playfully bowed towards her audience of apple trees, grape vines, and carrot patches, proceeding to pluck a juicy, shining red fruit from the tree and brutally murdering the poor thing by taking a bite. She smiled, they were ripe for the picking. Heading over to the side of her little cottage, she picked up a bucket and went back to the tree, beginning to reach up for the apples, humming her little tune all the way. "Faylenne? Oh, Faylenne m'dear!" She recognized the voice well. "Mother!" Faylenne exclaimed, placing the bucket on the ground, rushing to the front of her home and giving her mom a hug. "Mother, it's very good to see you. How's Mary?" She asked, referencing her little sister, who'd just turned five. "Doing wonderfully, she misses you. How's the new home?" "I've fit right in." Faylenne beamed. She'd just moved into the place. Her home with the rest of her family became too crowded, and she knew it would lift some weights on her parents' shoulders. Thus, she packed her bags early on her 16th birthday, and headed for a new place to live in the village. "Just curious, why the visit?" "Oh, little Mary wants fish for her birthday supper, and your father is out working for the day. I have to stay with her, so would you please-" "Don't say another word, I'll be happy to do it. Let me get my fishing pole, and I'll head on over to Lake Hylia, okay?" "Thank you, m'dear! You're such a help." "Would Mary like to come with me?" "I'm sure she'd find that wonderful. I'll get her now." Faylenne watched her mother go to fetch her little sister before walking in her cottage to grab a fishing rod, along with some worms for bait. When she walked out the front door her mother and Mary were already waiting. "Fayeeeeeeee!" Mary exclaimed, running to hug her big sister. Their mother giggled. "Have fun, you two!" "Bye mother! Hello, Mary. Happy birthday!" "Thanks Fayee!" "You're very welcome. Well, we're off then!" She juggled some items around to free a hand, which Mary took as they walked off.

Zelda walked away. She had no purpose to be here, and Kazzi was in a conversation. She sat on a wall to a village and sighed.

Faylenne and Mary walked to the banks of the lake, singing "cockels and mussels" cheerfully. They noticed the little crowd conversing. "Hello!" Faylenne called, waving to them.

She frowned. "Why ever not?" Faylenne asked. "It's just a hello."

Zelda sighed. "I've been ignored, and they know me... Pretty much."

Daruna looks away from the others as he hears someone call out a greeting. He sees the waving hand and detaches himself from the group, some of which seemed embroiled in the argument and might not even notice. He walks over to Zelda and the two new people. "Good morning to the both of you." He says to the two newcomers, having not heard the little conversation the three had been having.

Kazzi, who had been sucked into a debate, suddenly realized Zelda had walked off. "Hey, Zelda, come back!" She ran towards her.

"See? They said hello." Faylenne laughed a little. "Thank you, you too." She smiled at Daruna. "My name is Faylenne, and this little girl here is my sister, Mary. Say hello, Mary!" "Hello! My momma told me about you people. Are you a Zora?" Mary tilted her head up to Daruna and cocked it to the side.

"Glad to meet you both." Daruna says, smiling some, then looks down towards Mary, about to answer when Zelda beats him to the punch. He chuckles some. “Well, you took the words right out of my mouth.” He says to Zelda, then looks back at Faylenne and Mary. “As she said, my name is Daruna, and I am indeed a Zora. Once again, I am glad to make both of your acquaintances."

Mary beamed at the new friend she'd made. "And you too." Faylenne smiled, putting down the bucket in her hand and propping the fishing pole over her shoulder. "Guess what, it's my birthday!" Mary exclaimed. She giggled. "Can you tell us all how old you are now?" Mary stuck her palm close to her face, counting how many fingers there were. "Five!"

Daruna smiles as well. He had always liked children, even though sometimes he wasn't as good around them as he would have liked. But most children he found irrisistible, and this girl was pretty close to that. “Happy birthday, Mary!”

Mary's rosy cheeks turned a shade darker. "Thank you." She shuffled her feet a little as she grinned ear to ear. Faylenne put a hand on her shoulder. Standing together, Mary almost looked like a copy of her. The same curly brown hair, bright blue eyes, sprinklings of freckles across their nose and arms. The only difference was skin tone. Faylenne's skin matched her father's, olive in color, while Mary's was like her mother's paler than the moonlight. "We were coming here to fish for Mary's birthday dinner, isn't that right Mary 'm'dear?'" She laughed a little, quoting her mother's way of calling her children. "Yep!" Mary jumped up and down a little.
