Tomas watched her, and as things passed his eyes grew wide with terror. He ran over to her, and knelt, putting an arm over her shoulders to help support her. "Klara? Are you okay? Klara?" he asked, worry thick in his voice. He couldn't understand what was going on, but he was worried about his friend and love. He momentarily wondered if he should get another, but he also didn't want to leave Klara by herself.

Klara was already awake and sitting up when Mike shuffled in. He looked down at his girlfriend and paused for only a moment before kneeling on her other side like Tomas wasn't even there. "It was just a little one, just a minor shake, eh?" the man mumbled with a comforting smile and bracing squeeze to her shoulder. It did nothing to comfort her. She sat huddled against the counter, clammy and trembling. "You're fine, see? Wanna get her some water, Tom?" he asked politely, hardly even looking up from Klara's face.
Klara shook her head. "I'm fine."

Tomas couldn't help but glare just slightly at Mike, somewhat jealous. He silently stood and left, bringing back a small cup of water. He knelt beside Klara again, holding it out for her. He remained silent, but by the set of his face, Klara wasn't going to get away with saying she was fine.

((D: sorry dearest. life threw me a curve-ball. Not quite as drastic a curve-ball as your whole situation, but...yeah xD))
Klara took a few small sips of water before setting the cup aside on the floor and held out her hands, allowing Mike to haul her to her unsteady feet. She put a hand on her head and felt it for bumps but found none. Then she looked at Tomas and smiled feebly before giving Mike a significant look. He smiled and kissed her cheek before trudging cautiously back to the bedroom, as though nothing had happened.
Klara sat down at the table and looked imploringly at Tomas. "Sit down. Please?" she said in a small voice.

Tomas watched Klara carefully, and sat down. He waited patiently, wondering what could possibly be wrong with his dear friend. He knew she would give him some sort of explination, since she also knew he wasn't going anywhere until he got one. Nor would he leave her alone about it. He crossed his arms over his chest loosely, and waited.

Klara folded her hands carefully in front of her on the tabletop and watched Tomas with a level gaze. "I have epilepsy," she stated plainly. She didn't really believe in beating around the bush with these sorts of things. "Before I met you all those years ago, I - " fell in a patch of ice and hit my head. But that wasn't true, was it? " - a man attacked me. He slammed my head into a wall and in the ground until I was unconscious. I didn't know my brain was bleeding until after you left. I almost died, an' it gave me epilepsy. I have seizures."
It was strange, having to explain this to someone after having the condition for five years now. By this time everyone that mattered already knew. However, her heart jumped suddenly and a blush rushed to her face. "Don't tell Mike about the man. He don' know that part. He thinks I fell." She kept her eyes downcast as she admitted that last bit. Mike didn't know a lot about her, but that didn't mean she would ever tell him.

Tomas listened patiently, hearing the pause for only a moment. When she mentioned that Mike didn't know she had been attacked, he knew the pause was because she had momentarily thought about giving him the same story. He sighed, and shook his head, smiling slightly. "I see. I was thinking worse than that." he said, relief evident in his voice. "Not saying the circumstances weren't bad enough." he added, not wanting to sound like he didn't care or something.
He stood, and walked around the table. He knelt beside Klara, "Your secret is safe with me. You fell. Yep, that's it." he said with a smile. He hugged his friend, and moved back to his seat when he had released her. He watched her closely, almost studying her with an artistic eye. Like he had always done when he was thinking about things they had spoken about.
He remained silent for some time, just watching Klara. Finally, he shifted, and leaned foreward, setting his arms on the table in front of him. "Thanks for telling me the real story." he said lightly, "Though, why lie to him if you..." he trailed off, glancing toward the door. He didn't exactly like thinking of Klara and Mike as an item. Hell, he didn't like the fact that she was going to London with them. A blush lit across his face, and he turned his eyes down to stare at the table.

Klara bit her lip but smiled tremulously at Tomas when he tried to respond appropriately. "T'ank you," she said softly to him then, when he played along with her secret. She embraced him warmly back, but then internally squirmed with discomfort under his inquisitive eye. She turned her head away from him, hair trailing over her shoulder and eyes downcast. She knew what he was thinking. Why lie to him if you love him?
"I do love him," she said firmly, almost reminding herself of her own feelings. "I love him. A lot. I just don't..." Her voice grew small, and she fiddled with her hands on top of the table. "I don't want him to think less of me..." She blinked hard and shook her head as though she had not been intending to say what had been on her mind.She raised her voice to normal level and added more forcefully: "That part of my life is over now. I only share it with you because you were there for a bit of it." She twisted her mouth and shrugged her shoulders helplessly, because even if she did love Mike, she couldn't help feeling trapped with him.
