Mariana walked with Xenos, enjoying his company. One of her servants came running to her and stopped in front of them. Before she spoke she paused and noticed they were holding hands, but decided not to ask. "My lady, there is a customer at your home who is in need of your services." Mariana sighed. "Can he not wait?" Her servant simply shook her head, sensing her master's displeasure. Mariana looked at Xenos sadly. "I have to go..."Mariana kissed Xenos and then left with her servant.

Xenos sighed as he watched Mariana's disappearing back. He could have sworn the servant had given him a strange look. His brow furrowed as he walked down the hallway in the opposite direction. He stopped at the door to the men's bathroom and disappeared inside.

The next day Mariana went back to the mansion and stopped by the library on her way to Xenos' office. She grabbed a book to read and sat in a chair. She rubbed her bandaged arm and started reading.

The door to the Library creaked open as Xenos stepped inside. His gaze wandered the room before it stopped on Mariana's bandaged arm. He walked towards her and sat in the chair next to her a,scowl on his face.
"What happened?"

Mariana noticed Xenos and kissed him. "It's nothing. A customer wasn't happy with the information I gave him, that's all."

Xenos frowned as he kissed her cheek.
"What was this customer's name? I'll take care of him."
He smirked at the prospect of tearing the person's arms off.

Mariana smiled sweetly at his kindness. "Thank you, but I shouldn't. He was paranoid and thought his wife was cheating on him. I proved she wasn't and he thought I was lying. Humans are like that. It's just something I have to deal with in my line of work..."

Xenos growled again,calming down somewhat. He picked a book from the nearest shelf and opened it,beginning to read.

Mariana laughed. "Yes, they are. They have some good qualities though." She leaned against Xenos and rested her head against his shoulder. She enjoyed being with him. It helped ease the pain in her arm and stomach. In truth, the man had only cut her arm but stabbed her in the stomach. It hurt greatly, and against her doctor's and servants' orders she came to the mansion. She hated not seeing Xenos, though, so she came despite the pain.

Xenos eyed her arm,doubtful that it was alright. He rested his cheek against her head as the room was silent for a few minutes. He listened to the beat of her heart,and the tick of the clock content if just for the moment.
"Does it hurt?" He motioned to her arm.

Xenos' eyes studied the door of the library with disinterest.
"I think you may be lying."
He raised an eyebrow.

Mariana sighed and moved her head to look at him. "I guess there's no going around that. Yes, it hurts quite a bit. I'll live though."

Xenos' scowled slightly as he looked down at her. He disliked it when she pushed herself for no reason.
"You take it easy,alright?"
He huffed.

Mariana pouted but nodded her head anyway. "Fine. Only because you're the one asking. I get so bored though. There isn't much to do at my home..."
