snow_fire lilchibiusa Mademoiselle Alvinette Chibi, I'm praying for your Mimi. That's your grandmother's sister, right? That's right. They think she had a small heart attack this morning, but she's already on heart medicine, so there's nothing they can really do except keep her under observation. She's doing okay, but she's still pretty weak. So, my Mimi is staying with us for a few days. We would like her to move in with us so we can take care of her, but she won't do it. It worries me having her live by herself. @Snow - Thanks and congrats! heart Btw - I LOVE the Python quotes! xd of course that makes sense.. Ugh now knowing the sit, better, i really do hope things work out for the best. and perhaps you can persuade her into staying with you by explaining why you are worried and what not? if you haven't already that is. I found with ppl though to get them to agree or understand is a matter of how you word what you say. The problem is that the house that she lives in was built by she and her husband when they first got married over 60 years ago. My great-uncle died about 10 years ago (we call my great-aunt "Mimi" because she's so close that she's like a 3rd grandmother to us), so the house has too many memories for her to leave behind. That's that biggest reason why she doesn't want to live with us. She only lives about 45 minutes away, but that's still a long way if something happens to her and she needs our help.

I would be too afraid to live over there. Somehow over time, her neighborhood became part of the ghetto. sweatdrop Her car got stolen from her driveway twice in the past 10 years. xp

After my Grandma first had to move away from her house two years ago when she had her strokes, her house got broken into, but nobody stole anything. They just broke a window in her bedroom. The thing is, we don't even live in town! We're about a mile away from our town (which is very small), and where we live, it's a very rural neighborhood with a lot of farms. It's usually a really quiet area. sweatdrop

Then again, crime isn't completely unheard of around here. A few years ago, there was a couple who got busted for having a meth lab in their house. The wife was a hairstylist at the salon where my mom and I went to get our hair cut! And her mom (who started the salon to begin with) was a faithful member of our church. eek

My parents used to live a couple streets over from her when they were newlyweds. Someone broke into their house and stole a bunch of stuff. My Mimi keeps a deadbolt on her doors all the time, but I still worry.
But on a happier topic, I'm super excited about Momocon. xd
