sakurachan61123 Suzuka_Mirasomoto Okay, i realize that here, I am going to be a complete hypocrite, but here goes. I want to smash Bob's face in. I hate bob. Bob1 smashed (punched) Bob2 (my ex boyfriend) face in. I was so mad. They're both trumpet players. I am also a trumpet player. But what do people have against us? I mean, I am a nice person. A little egotistical, but generally a nice person. I really don't see what people have against trumpet players. I do agree taht we can be a little annoying at times, but still. Grr. Ok done ranting. the reason most people hate us is BECAUSE of our egos hun . . . Point taken... Its still not fair. I mean, Most of us are good people at heart.. OR when we want to be

oh wow...thats a lot of rants. I shall add one more, aye?
AH, okay, fellow baritone player, known him since 7th grade, he's alright but he is just SO ARRRRGH!!! *shakes fist* I'm glad he moved away, but the majority of the lowbrass didn't like him, even my DI and one of the trombone DIs didnt like him. Not that many people in band got along with him, but oh well. He's gone now(to a different school), thank the lord. And when he tells you something and you note that he's wrong, he'll just fight right back and deny it, and if he knows he's wrong and you've corrected him, then he'll just tell you to shut the *bleep* up. so full of himself. Ai. And then I reaaaaaaaaally hate this french horn player, well, I dont hate him anymore, but he's a total asshat, but he can be 'okay' sometimes, he actually talked to me in a nice way but the majority of time, i cant stand that fool. Then I dont like this flute player, she's a biotch. End of story. biggrin
But yeah, 3 people, one more person I may not like but I better live with it, starting next Thursday he's my DI. -oh lordy- But yeah, other than that, alls good. OOH! and then there's this saxophone player that gets on my nerves, he always comes to our table during lunch when we dont even want him there, but we're too nice to say anything to him so we just let him come. But one, he talks too much, two, he cant march (he gets yelled at ALL the time), three he is ANNNOOYING. And when you direct your attention to something else, or at least try to, he'll start tapping you endlessly. ugh. ok. done. heart

OMG this one girl in front of me last year in concert band was HORRIBLE. She couldn't play for the life of her, and she was a brat! I gave her a hint on how to play this part more easily and she does "I KNOW that. I don't need YOU to tell me." I was all like "Fine...*****" in my head of course... And then she wouldn't EVER shut up. I tried to challenge her, but at the time, my flute wasn't in too great of condition, so we tied...I'm so glad I don't have to deal with her again till next year...YAY FOR HIGH SCHOOL.

Yea...
It was today and we're in the middle of practice. I'm a freshman and beside me is a senior trumpet player and a sophmore mello (and junio trumpet next to the senior) (I'm mellophone as well) We four were sitting in a circle on break and the guys (the other three) strated throwing a water bottle back and forth. The other mello player threw it to me and I didn't catch it bacause I was looking at my music and not paying attention. It hit me right in the head and he started laughing and making remarks that I don't remember. I was already tired and a bit frustrated and he had been talking the entire time and joking on me over really stupid stuff, so (even if I wanted to punch him) I threw the water bottle in his face. The trumpet players started laughing at him and called my visious when the senior earlier had thrown the other guys shoes off the balcony.
Got that?

Another clarinet player that sits a row behind me, Charlotte, we'll call her. She thinks my best friend is a lesbian because we hang out a lot, and she wears pounds of make-up, AND she never shuts up. She skipped our last sectional. All of it. One time she was talking during band because she thought the student teacher was gay, and the girl sitting next to me (my friend) turned around and told her to shut up. Charlotte told the girl next to me that she didn't have to boss her around because she was a higher chair than her. The girl next to me smiled and said, 'I wasn't telling you to shut up because I'm a higher chair, I'm telling you to shut up because you're being disruptive.' I almost squealed with glee at Charlotte's blank expression.

UGH!
Thank you so much for this thread.
There's this freshman, "Bob," that everyone in my section hates. He can't march and play at the same time, he looks around while he's supposed to be facing forward, he doesn't march (he walks), and his horn angle sucks. Always.
Now, he does play a heavy instrument, but he doesn't even try.
He goes to the wrong sets.
We've tried to help him out kindly, but he tells us, the OLDER PEOPLE IN HIS SECTION, to F off. So we have to shout at thim. Then he listens. But he still tells us to F off.
He was once a trumpet if that means anything. sweatdrop

This year I've wanted to beat my entire section. The section leaders sit there and tell us we're doing something wrong and then they don't do anything to correct it. I've tried to help some of the freshmen and sophomores and got yelled at. It's gotten to the point where the freshmen and sophomores are almost ALWAYS off step so the upper classmen have to keep yelling LEFT... LEFT... LEFT... and it's ridiculous.
Oh, and I'm uniform manager for our band. I've been told several times that I shouldn't be at the band council meetings 'cause I'm not a member of the council (oh really? Then explain why I was elected uniform manager during the BAND COUNCIL ELECTIONS). The school year hasn't even started and I've lost count of how many people I've run out of the uniform room for having food and drinks in there (there's no eating or drinking in or around the uniforms at our school. 'cept water during the games). I get paranoid when anyone gets anywhere near the door with an open bottle of gatorade or soda. A sophomore even went so far as to tell the BD that I told her to "get the hell out" when all I did was tell her sodas weren't allowed in the uniform room (didn't get in trouble 'cause the BD didn't believe her).
Oh how I LOVE my band mates. -_-' (sorry if this was kinda long)

i hate when the trumpets are like so loud that it's like this awful blaring sound. i KNOW there's a way for a trumpet to play soft. besides, even their softest playing is still plenty loud. but don't get me wrong, that's more of the instrument that i get mad at than the people. i'm friends with a lot of trumpets/melophones too. (i'm a flute- don't hate, i'm nice- so sound issues for me suck b/c we're usually such a quiet instrument)
bye now ninja

In the last part of this years show... there is a clarinet who always manages to get to her spot too late.. and she goes to the side of me and smashes into my flute which in turn, smashes my lips.
I have a feeling I will smash her face by the end..

I have a feeling I will smash her face by the end.. hehe yay for flutes! boo for people smashing into us... my friend dropped my flute when i gave him a hug. no harm done so far though. he's a flute and piccolo player anyways so i can't really yell at him. onto my second thought: my friend, mentioned above, had just gotten this new wooden flute headjoint from some crazy place like australia or something. this other kid (who everyone thinks is annoying and who CANNOT keep the tempo with one of those stupid little shaker things. it's so annoying... erg) comes up to him and he's like "why's your flute headjoint all weird and messed up?" like in this stupid little 'i have no idea what i'm talking about' voice. now we're talking about a very expensive headjoint. i mean it's made out of wood, forgod'ssake! so as i was standing off to the side i was just like *twitch twitch do not offend the flute...* it just bothers me. if you don't know what you're talking about, don't go over and criticize the instrument, sheesh! just shut up. well that's it. thanks for listening to the rant!! ^^

OK, today's the fourth day of band camp, and everyone's a grouch and tired. The saxophones were being stupid and not paying attention, the french horns were being lazy, and there's this baritone player whose face I want to smash in with my sousaphone. She constantly complains and backtalks the directors and sings hip hop so often, it's driving me to insanity (I hate hip hop, no offense meant to any of you who like that stuff). GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
