sweatdrop Man, I have got to stop lurking on threads where people start talking about Pride and Prejudice! So many spoilers and I haven't read it yet! Why do I keep doing this to myself? stressed crying

Bechod! (roughly "poor thing" in Welsh)
You're too funny!
Pride and Prejudice is a hard one to remain completely ignorant of if you haven't read it yet. Harry Potter is another one. Somehow, I'm managed to keep that veiled for now. I promise, some day I'm gonna read them all!
LOL, how will you being curious about Twilight endanger your life? Kekeke!

That one's hard to answer...hmmm...I think it's because I'm likely to go bang my head against a wall in frustration at myself for reading too many spoilers before reading the books! I so want to find out more--like why people are so polarized about Twilight and seem either to love it or despise it--but at the same time, I don't want to spoil the story for myself. I guess I'm just going to have to break down, go to the library, and check out the books rather than giving myself wall-induced head injuries...

However, I'm notoriously picky about my readings, so I decided against reading them and read this instead. It's a pretty comprehensive paraphrase of the books. Very funny. But quite biting. Still, I can appreciate where this girl is coming from. ^^ In other words, if you're going to read the books yourself, don't read her blog. But after you've read them, you're likely to find it amusing. That goes for you too, Chibi. wink

But after you've read them, you're likely to find it amusing. That goes for you too, Chibi. wink A spoof? I always enjoy a good spoof! But I still think that you might as well go ahead and read them. It won't take you but a week to read the whole series. And you haven't read Harry Potter yet? eek I will actually admit to attending the last 4 midnight release parties for the books. sweatdrop Although, the first book is by far my favorite. I like the whole idea of people with boring lives finding out that they are something extraordinary! Maybe that's why I have a thing for super hero movies too. I also wouldn't mind finding a wardrobe leading to Narnia. xd Juvenile reading is always quick reading, so it is never much of a time commitment. And you might as well go ahead and read the stuff if you are going to talk about it. @Alvinette - You still haven't read Pride and Prejudice yet? eek You need to get on that! xd It's one of the most amazing books ever written! heart

I know, I know...I start reading it and then I'm tempted by some spy novel with lots of twists and turns. I am a bad, bad reader! sad

You mean that you actually get started reading it, but abandon it? eek How is that even possible? That book sucked me in and wouldn't let me do anything else! I've read it multiple times, and it always has the same effect.

LOL, I'm like Alvinette. I love to read, but I have story ADD. If it doesn't completely absorb me, it's in danger of never being finished. I don't mean to do it, I'm just naughty!
I started reading Stardust and got bored of it so never finished. XD Then it was made into a movie, so I might as well go watch it.
I didn't finish the Harry Potter series because I got distracted by something else: I think it was The Princess and the Goblin. ^^;
I started reading what I thought was an interesting book called Cloud Land or something, but got bored with that, too. I eventually just gave it to a used book shop!
I can't help it! I was born this way. I didn't like reading until I was seven years old because it took that long for them to finally give me a book I liked. Once I realized that Not All Books Are Created Equal, I read voraciously. lilchibiusa And you might as well go ahead and read the stuff if you are going to talk about it.
I was afraid you'd say that! blaugh

But it's true. wink I'm the complete opposite. If I start something, I am going to finish it, even if it's the worst book I've ever read. It's almost a compulsion for me. However, I will read about 15 manga series at one time, most of which are still being written. Sometimes I will fall away from a series or two, but I always pick them back up eventually.

Finish Stardust. The movie PALES in comparison, and they're completely different.

I've read it multiple times, and it always has the same effect. You have to understand (and I know you do because you are very familiar with my reading habits! blaugh ), most of what I read consists of mysteries, spy novels, adventure books, fantasies (I just finished reading Through the Looking Glass this afternoon, after having read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland last week), and the like. It's very rare that I get involved in a story that doesn't have a lot of adventure and intrigue. I got into Northanger Abbey, for instance, because, at least on the surface, it's a parody of Gothic horror/romance novels. It's really hard for me to get into most straight-up romances, though, even if they are classics. Even the romance novels I read are mostly adventure/suspense romances. So...yeah. Apparently I have a horribly short attention span.

I know you love your spy novels, but I didn't know that you started books and then didn't finish them.
You just read Though the Looking Glass? That's one of my all time favorites! xd I don't know why, but I have always been strangely drawn to it. heart

I know what you mean! I've always been drawn to the Alice stories. They're so weird and absurd, yet strangely charming at the same time. I love 'em! xd
