I totally disagree with animal testing. They SHOULD test products on us, humans, instead of on animals. The results would come back much more accurate. Animals have to suffer because of OUR mistakes? No!!!

I think some of you are failing to comprehend the reality of this situation. Many, MANY life-saving procedures, medicines, devices, preventatives, and other such things have come from animal testing. Because of animal testing, we've prolonged our quality of life to an age people only dreamed of in centuries past. Sure, some of you maybe thinking it's rather selfish to exploit animals for our own quality of life, but if that were true... would you be here right now?
Geneticists have discovered many things about our own DNA by studying the changes of mutations in rats as well as humans. Rats begin the process, and when successful and determined to be safe on humans, human testing begins. You can't just go on testing some unknown substance on humans first; no one would volunteer and then where would we be? Contrary to what you may think, rat DNA has many shared traits to our own.
Doctors have done testing on the embryos of chicks, rats, frogs, and other animals to improve human development. Without it, we would have more newborn deaths and almost no preventative medicine or procedures for birth defects. Because of the research done by geneticists and embryologists, parents can now tell if their child will be born retarded before it is even born. Amazing, don't you think?
Pigs are essential to human life in many things, including skin grafting for serious burns and insulin for diabetics.
I could go on about how much I care for animals over humans, but that's another topic. While I may not agree entirely on animal testing, one has to understand why it's necessary.
I do not agree with cosmetic testing; the testing of products that have already been tested; and the completely unnecessary over-testing of products. For example, cigarette companies will force chimps to smoke several cigarettes at once. This is completely unrealistic and bears no accurate or useful scientific data. One group did a study on chimps using an amount of LSD that no normal human would even think about touching, and then watched it as it went mad around its own cage, having no clue as to what was going on, or the mental capacity to know what it just took, unlike its human counterparts, who know what they're getting into.
Testing bleach and shampoos over and over and over again, yielding the same results is redundant and unnecessary. However, I'm aware it's to prevent lawsuits as sometimes batches of a product get messed up along the assembly line. I believe after so many years of the same testing, a suitable, non-living substitute would do just fine.
Testing on criminals is completely unrealistic and totally immoral. I don't understand how people can be so serious when suggesting such an atrocity. I can only hope you are just being ignorant of the situation.

For the miley cyrus thing *raises both hands* lol
But to the subject.I am partically against animal testing, especially for cosmetics. We dont need to paint up our faces for other people.I think if you want a new make-up, test it on your self.Your the one that wants it, not the animal. Now for medicines of types, I some what agree on the testing because it saves alot of lives human and animal. With out it, my baby boy (my cat) would have died when he was just a kitten. He was born.......umm Im not really sure how to describe it, but his mother abandoned him and his litter mates.Because something was wrong with all of them.
In short, animal testing for 1) medicines: some what yes. 2) new cosmetics: no 3nodding

Let's be realistic here. We NEED animal testing. Even if we don't want to admit it, we;d be dead with out these tests. Little animals, rats for example, multiply extremely fast and they share many things in common with us, so of course they'd be ideal to test on.
But why test things over and over again. Cosmetics? Drugs? Why do we even need the stuff. Chap stick came in handy, but make-up? Killing animals to make stuff that covers up our true selves is appalling if you ask me. Monkeys shouldn't smoke, neither should humans. Why do we need new ways to kill ourselves faster? Using drugs to make us feel better, it's complete rubish. You'd feel better with clean air in your lungs if you ask me!
I think humans just need to step down a bit.

Madnalyn This is ridiculous! Why not let the animals go back to where they came from? Slowly let them adapt back to normal, hunter, prey, the cycle that used to be! Sure we need testing, but for what? Medicine I can completely understand. But cosmetics? I've seen plenty of people who would be willing to volunteer. You could even pay people to be tested on! Might even elp the economy a little. Humans have killed enough, we have to step down a little. Oh that is easy to answer. It may be wrong to test on animals but the cosmetics companies would save more money if they test it on animals. If people tested them then they wouldnt be able to leave the testing area and their rage will increase. Animal they could keep in cages that is wrong though but a good business decision

I don't believe in animal testing. I believe that animals should be free rather then in cages. Besides, do we really have to test on make up or accesories that are all natural or organic? neutral Peace and Love, Sazzie heart

Sazzie Lotus Song I don't believe in animal testing. I believe that animals should be free rather then in cages. Besides, do we really have to test on make up or accesories that are all natural or organic? neutral Peace and Love, Sazzie heart still testing is required. testing on animals is wrong but sometimes when mixing certain ingredients can cause a reaction blah blah blah and if it comes out hurting a person without them testing it they could get sues blah blah blah

I think animal testing should only be used for testing new medical procedures and medicines. Testing other products on animals such as deodorant and makeup is completely pointless. We could test those on humans without dying from it.

I only buy NON-ANIMAL TESTED products..
I look at animals as humans in a different form [which is kinda what they are] they have a roll on this planet just as we do and so far they are fulfilling it but obviuosly if we keep TESTING ON THEM, KILLING THEM, ANG EATING THEM, they won't be able to keep the planet in check.
another reason to become a VEGITARIN OR VEGAN<3333
animal testing is so wrong and terrible, would you want me poking and testing on you? hopefully not. lol

I don't like animal testing. Animals are living things! They should like live freely, without humans testing on them! Animals have feelings too! If I am a politician, I would say that if animals are killed or suffered by humans illegally, I will punish them. It is not fair that if humans are killed, FBI or whatever just investigate their cause of death and not animals! IT IS NOT FAIR!!

Is that what people care about these days? People have hearts, not to care about that and actually ask people if they are okay to volunteer
