Lyra had remained silent throughout the whole exchange. She, too, agreed that Phantom of the Opera was a little overdone, but maybe if they could do something that she had never seen any of the other bands do....
Lyra spoke up, "Chill out, guys. We can do this show, for sure. I agree with what Nate was saying- as long as we don't follow the cliche that every other band has done so far, we should be fine. As far as putting in a string instrument- well, I can't say I've ever seen that happen before. Perhaps a violin? I think that that string would stick out the most out of all of them. We could always add to the bass line, though..."
She shrugged. "I may be totally off the mark here, but that's my two cents for right now." She leaned back in her chair with her bell on her knee.

Kari sent a partway thankful look to Lyra. Well...one band, last year at the BOA, had had an electric clarinet. Or something like that. SO maybe one or two stringed instruments wouldn't be too bad. "But singers would still be over doing it, wouldn't it?" She asked, frowning.

"Yeah, they would. But what we need is a real shocker. Something that will take finals.............Something like.....................Acting. What if we acted out the show in our drill? You know going full out. Costumes, Scenes, the whole nine yards. All done through music." Nate was sure he had never seen that done before in a show. And he knew that the members of the band were talented enough to pull it off. So why not?

Kari blinked, and looked at him. Considering. "Like...not just having the Color Guard do the acting?" Kari bit her bottom lip, in thought. "What if...The drum majors dressed up like Cristine and Erik? And one of the Color Guard girls could be Raul? The the drum majors could act it out by 'controlling' us to play out their feelings, and stuff." Kari wasn't sure if anyone understood her train of thought, but to her, the idea actually sounded pretty awesome.

Lyra nodded and added, "When we play 'Masquerade,' the entire band could pull out some masks from their shakos. Or we could switch out the plumes in the shakos to different colors."
After a moment of contemplation, she also thoughtfully said, "Perhaps even pin different fabrics to our uniforms to show the idea of the masquerade. As for acting things out- it's a good idea, though maybe it would be interesting to have a soloist perform as Raoul."

Kari nodded, thinking. At the BOA, there'd been this band that had all started out with white plumes, and then had pulled them out, section by section, to reveal different colors.* It'd been pretty freakin awesome...and Kari was sure that it they could do it, they could make it even better. Kari didn't want to admit it, but this idea was sounding more and more awesome. "That would be pretty cool." _____________
((*There was actually a band that did this. I wanna find out who they were, 'cause it was pretty cool ^_^))

Nate was estatic that his idea had taken the band by storm. The idea was flawless. And Lyra and Kari had some pretty good additions to his idea. "This show will be the best ever, maybe we could make it to nationals. Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Just as before Nate was getting excited again. Pulling out his phone he sent a quick message to Amy. "This will be a good show."

Kari could just hear the thousands of exclamation points in Nate's voice. It was almost enough to roll her eyes. Yeah, well...alright. So maybe this would be a pretty cool show. And maybe they would make it to nationals. But...would it be good enough to win?

Micheal Seth Adrian “I was just thinking that having a stringed instrument would set us apart from the rest of the crowd. But, the show would be awesome if we incorporated some of those things. The drum major thing would be like what the Phantom Regiment did with Spartacus.” said Seth grinning at the can of worms Addie had opened by changing her vote. Turning toward her he said, “And seriously, marry me now.”

This coming from the boy who was text messaging his crush from across the room. Kari had to stop herself from snorting. "Well, alright. Change my vote from Anastasia to Phantom then, please!" She called up to the Band Director, who'd been pretty cool to stay silent while they talked.

Micheal Seth Adrian “You know Nate, you're right. That's great advice and I thank you for it. That's why I want you to be my best man.” Seth chuckled and said, “Come on man, it's a joke; of course I don't expect her to marry me. I'd settle for her going to the movies with me this weekend.” He flashed Nate a grin and hearing Kari speak up said, “Kari, you're my hero.”

Kari sent Seth a small grin, feeling her mood switch to something not so annoying. Or upset. "Yes, I know! Feel free to send as much flowers and chocolates as you want."

"Since you asked so nicely, I'll be your best man Seth." Humph fat chance of that ever happening. But somehow, maybe Seth has become just a little less annoying than usual. Maybe they could be friends. " I know it was a joke. I'm just trying to get out excess energy. Oh, and Kari Do roses sound nice? Want to give you the best flowers I can find." Now that Nate was in a better mood he could crack a few jokes.

Kari grinned. "Roses sound wonderful. Thank you, Nate." She wondered, in the back of her mind, why Mr. Carpenter wasn't stopping their random jokes. Maybe he was used to teenagers?
