Lunalover009 Petrutza i think yaoi anime is really hot, but i can't imagine in real life 2 guys/girls kissing and other stuff redface redface it's kinda odd and scary. I love yaoi anime but....
yaoi in anime is hot because almost always the guys are hot too but people in real life aren't always so pretty.... i mean take this real life scene for example
*two really hot blonde girls making out* or *two fat butch girl making out*
it's not hard to decide which is more smexy yeah!! cool no judgments here but fiction is hotter cause all the couples look hotter drawn) but I know hot gay guys and some completely hot strait looking lesbians. although I really don't approve of couples(of any gender pairing-making out in public obstructing peoples lockers or walkway. It's annoying. not all are for lack of a nicer word '(cause I know some butch girls who are in-school friends) "dikes".yeah, I don't mean to offend anyone by saying that. I really don't! I mean, some butch girls are very nice and everyone is more than just their clothes or orientation... don't criticize me. I was in a GSA before.

On this side of the world, letting your parents know of such things is a definitive NO.
In the Caribbean, gay men are more open about their sexuality in recent years. I've seen a guy walking around with a murse or purse, whichever. Homosexuality is a thing people snicker at, ignore or at least seem to tolerate in this country.
Here too, men seem to think that women kissing etc is a turn on. (These same men automatically think a woman is into women if she rejects his attentions. confused )
On the flip side, the DJ's are allowed to play songs that blatantly speak to the shooting of "batty men" (male homosexuals).
In general, a child here would be considered to be just as 'sick' as the gay men they enjoy reading about/watching.
(In my case, I think my parents go with 'what you ignore and forget about isn't true'.)

The thought of two boys kissing, in my opinion, isn't such an eye-opener as it is with two girls, and I really have no idea why.
It could be an age thing, but guys kissing (6/10) girls kissing (7/10) men kissing (11/10)

I have to say, two guys kissing is indeed very hot. I may be a bit prejudiced, seeing as I'm a gay guy, but yeah.
Where I'm from - Transylvania - it's not really all that unusual to see two girls or two guys making out. But where I live now - Texas - admitting you're homosexual isn't a good idea. My college is totally accepting, considering most of my friends are gay or bi. My siblings and I actually talk about this stuff on the phone with my mother. She did her fair share of experimenting.

Shinsengumi_Neko II think that girls are just allowed to more things in our culture than guys sad ( for example holding hands ) Being a girl I think that girls get away with more stuff like the touching because we are seen as touchier than guys... Think about it when do you see two guys scream "I LOVE YOU [[INSERT SAME SEX NAME HERE]]" Down a crowded hall?

She'd be a little weird if she found out though, i think.
I go to an arts school, I have many gay friends (guys and girls) so that and me being Bi-sexual... could be part of my love for boyxboy... but i'm a girl so no?

lol hmmm well lots of my female friends love yaoi and its a bit obvious xD a girl i know named jackie wore a shirt to school that she got at an anime con. In giant letters it read: "I <3 Yaoi"

It depend on their looks and the way they kiss.
I would really want to see two guys making out as long as their both good looking and they kiss passionately, not kissing so disgustingly.
I really enjoy the kissing scenes in the manga/anime cause everytime they kiss, you can feel the passion... and there's the tounge thingy.

Part of the weirdness censor thing that was mentioned in the opening post is that we are more sensitive in terms of noticing things that which we want to notice. For example, you will now point out any time someone has a bunny on their head, simply because I pointed it out. The opening poll is the same way.
Another part of the weirdness censor is that, because pie then cake.... something intelligent goes here... and the fact that gay men are more noticeable in Western media, it gets shoved down our throats to the point that we begin to ignore it for our own sanity.
Believe me, if Hollywood was right, we'd be populated with 50% closeted polygamist bible-thumping slave owners.
Another theory is that the OP's mother secretly enjoys yuri/shoujo-ai and is afraid to admit it, but that possibility is so faint as to not even be considered.
