My uncle wasn't circumsized and around his teen years he had horrible infections. In the end it was so painful that he decided to go get circumsized.
My boyfriend is uncircumsized. He says he's parents used to whip him everytime he didn't wash good down there. So far, he's had no problems. He also says that his p***s was so sensitive though that it hurt to even delicately try and wash it, and that's why he always tried to slip past his parents.
I think it depends on if you plan to follow your child's every footstep and make sure that he cleans himself.

thekrillsta durring sex or masturbation the foreskin moves up and down and makes it feel really good sad i would hate not having mine Circumsized men still have skin that's movable. It's not like it's stretched so tight that it doesn't budge. Kuro_Kitsune_Bard My preference would'nt be either. I would be happy with how the male was, but I think it's unfortunate for men who are circumsized because it's possible they could be experiencing more pleasure than they currently are. However, if they are satisfied with the pleasure they receive, then it does'nt matter. Personally I think circumcision is barbaric. Just like I do not agree with ear-piercing a child when they are not old enough to make a conscious decision of whether they want it or not. Any kind of procedure that involves piercing, tattooing, cutting/removal of skin or part or all of a body part should only be performed if the individual in question agrees to it. This is only my opinion however. First, there's no PROVEN fact that says that circed guys get less sensation. That's merely myth and hearsay. While I'm pro circ (to an extent, I chose it, but I don't condemn people who don't) I'm CON infant ear piercing (to an extreme), and I don't think they should be compared ever. While ear piercing is purely, PURELY cosmetic, a circumcision is not. There's medical reasons people do it as well, from reducing the risk of HIV, to reducing the chance of UTIs, which can be family problems, to even religious beliefs. Also, circumsision is ALWAYS done by a trained doctor in a sterile enviroment with a local anethestic, where as people take their babies to CLAIRE'S and trust some 19 year old girl with 5 minutes training, poor equipment and horrible information on the aftercare to piece their child. Big difference, HUGE, and therefore, NOT comparable. But as this is about circ, I'll refrain from my usual continued infant ear piercing rant. wink

If I had a baby boy, I would never ever do that to my child! eek I think that would be totally devastating for him to find out when he's older. eek Besides, I want grandchildren someday. =]

I read through this entire thread and I have a few things to mention and, hopefully, to shatter some misconceptions.
As the precentage of children who aren't being circumcised is increasing (Mainly since the 1960's), there is lots of misinformation being spread. Some things are simply lack of any experiance in the department, like some women (and some men!) who think that uncirc. Penises are shaped like torpedos, without a head. Others, such as personal hygine, are more skethy, and I will attempt to give an unbiased and informative viewpoint on it.
So here we go.
Personal hygiene with a uncircumcised p***s is easier than keeping the hair on your head clean. You only need to run some water over it when the foreskin is down and maybe rub it a little with a finger. You don't need to use soap (in fact I don't recommend it, because it usually stays down there, and is probably contradictive of the point in why you are using it in the first place.) You don't need to use a loofah or a washcloth, as that would hurt like ******** and damage the p***s. You don't need to do it every day, either.
On the uncircumcised p***s, the foreskin can be drawn fully back (and usually stays) during erection. It can also be pulled up and all the way over the head of the p***s, but it doesn't stay that way. In addition to there being the head of the p***s, there are also some folds of skin on there that would help with pleasuring a woman during sex. The fact that the skin can be moved on the p***s during erection eliminates lots of the need for extra lube during sex too. The natural stuff is often enough.
When not erect there are generally two types of uncircumcised penises, apperance-wise: Ones where the foreskin completely covers the head of the p***s, and folds up a little at the end, and ones where it only partially covers the head. Personally, I find the former ascetically displeasing, but the latter is fine with me. That's just my personal opinion, though.
If you choose to circumcise your kid or not, they will probably not mind either way. Personally, I'd wait until my child was old enough to decide for themselves, and then if they wanted the operation done, I'd let them have it. After all, if you get it cut early, they'll never experience life with an uncircumcised p***s, but if you let choose, they could experience both.
And that reminds me of a person anticdote. A friend of mine got an infection in his foreskin when he was 15 from not washing it for 3 months straight. He didn't tell anyone about it until it was bad, and they had to perform an emergency circumcision. He says, as a person who experienced both being circumcised and uncircumcised, that he much preferred his foreskin, and wished he had kept better care of it. He said that after he got his foreskin cut off, always having the head of he p***s out in the open was very painful, but eventually he lost some feeling in it, which allowed him to live with it more comfortably. However, you must take that with a grain of salt, because he may just be opposed to having a personal part of his body changed against his will, when he had already gotten used to having it there.
A few other things:
Uncircumcised men don't have more trouble getting erections, and if they DO, it's certainly not because of the small amount of extra skin on the p***s, as the foreskin itself doesn't fill with blood like the rest of the p***s, nor become erect. It would be like saying that people with big ears had more fickle erections.
Just because there are nerves cut off when you are circumcised, doesn't mean they are important. The male who possesses a foreskin feels no pleasure in the foreskin itself. I would know. I am one.
My opinion is this: Whatever you do, your kid isn't going to like or hate his p***s because of his possession or lack of a foreskin. Women who will dislike you because your foreskin's status probably (In my opinion) shouldn't be going out with you in the first place. Teach your children basic hygiene, when they're young, and infections SHOULDN'T be a problem. It only took one sentence out of my dad when he taught me how to take a shower.
As for being more likely to contract STDs? All I have to say is the man who relies on not having a foreskin to protect him for AIDS, Herpes, or any other STD, is going to soon become a man who HAS AIDs, Herpes, or some other STD. I imagine that people took a statistic that showed that men who were uncircumcised generally had more STDs than men who were, and slanted it to mean that being uncircumcised was a bad thing. I don't think that because I am opposed to circumcision, just beacuse I can't imagine a labratory making that a controlled experement.

As a mother of a little boy, I have to say that in my oppinion it is totaly the parent's choice. It is much more painful and tramatizing for a young boy or an adult to go through a circumcision. I had my little guy 'cut' because there is less of a risk of infectoin, and it's easer to clean. That said, I watched the doctor cut him, because I beleive if you can't watch what someone is doing to your child, then you have no buisness having it done. Before they cut the foreskin, they numb the area, much like when they fill a tooth. My little guy whined a bit at the shots that numb, but he didn't cry at all, and it only took two days to heal. I have nothing against people that are 'uncut' it's a personal decision, and to me the benifits outweigh the cons. As to prefrences in an adult man, I've never seen an uncut p***s outside of pictures, so I can't say for sure. All my ex's were cut. I would be willing to give it a try if the oppertunity came about, but as of now I've got nothing to judge by. sweatdrop

As someone who really doesn't want to be in such a particular situation: I'm glad I'm circumcised, but wish I wasn't when overseas. That way... You know, I can claim to be not Jewish because of my foreskin.
Nothing against Jews, but I don't want to be beaten/maimed/killed because someone thinks I am and I can't prove otherwise.

Circumcizing is not going to prevent you from having grandchildren, good lord. Please read some of this thread. There's some very informative things in here. Even the post right under you. Jesus.

I've been with both, and I personally prefer penises that haven't been circumcised. So, if I have a son, he'll be keeping his foreskin.

Yami Trunks cleaning is not an issue...im sorry it just isnt 1) I didnt even know foreskin was retractable until what when i was 12? It sounds silly but if you take a bath...or shower it isnt like you need to get a washcloth soap and toothbrush and clean it...the onyl stuff in there (or that should i mean) is whatever is released from your own body... 2) Most people who are making the cleaning comment are well cric'd and dotn have basis to say it...if you can fin me a single guy in the world who will say "OMG i have to go clean my foreskin" then ill shut up... I don't have much time, I have to go clean my foreskin when subconsiously choosing how to clean myself during showers I came up with the BEST idea: liquid body wash and masturbation... sweatdrop it works amazingly well...mind, only wbout three seconds worth of masturbation, so nothing really happens, but it's clean...

I don't discriminate based on circ vs. uncirc, because as everybody here has shown, we all have our own thoughts and opinions that deserve to be heard. I didn't even know I was circumcised until one of my ex-girlfriends told me I was when I was 18. I didn't know there was a difference either til I saw pics online at the time to learn What the difference was. I don't remember having it done, so odds are it was when I was a baby, shortly after I was born I guess, but I don't know, I've never asked my parents about when or why it was done. As to whether or not I have it done on my son when I have kids, I think it might be better for him, since I didn't have any issues with it being done to me, i.e. sex and masturbating are fine, lubrication is no concern, it doesn't hurt her when we have sex, I can go to the bathroom just fine, etc. But in some fairness, I'll at least discuss this with my gf first before we even try to have kids, since it's yes, something that should be talked about before kids come about.
