Well, you're not alone in that. Every female member of the ATG shares your predicament. Well, every female member above 15 years old, anyway...

It's turned into a holiday just to get money. There's no real logical reason to celebrate it at all.

You're such a killjoy, Inmate. If nothing else, you can celebrate what it once was, not what it has become.

Just to get money? How much do I spend on avg. on Valentine's Day? Possibly a dollar.
Chocolate does get bought, but it's about the love! The love!!!
ATG, they wouldn't be so forceful if you would just be more willing.

I don't belive in the word that must not be mentioned. Besides why celebrate something you should celebrate year round no matter what with your significant other on just one day?

Valentine's day was actually dedicated at first to Saint Valentine, who ended up in a prison for the latter half of his life, but kept in touch with the church through letters through a window (Thus Valentine's letters). Valentine's day took on a more romantic tint over the years, and it is the one day where nothing is to get in the way of two people in love. ...In theory.

I thought it was something else with couples getting married. Or pie. Something about pie.

Then why not celebrate that thing every day of the year. Or give random gifts that show that, or do random acts? What are aniversaries for? Conforming to the media's and store owners wishes is not a good thing.
