Lunastasia Amanikitty boconnotto The reason most people resist having lolita fashion linked with lolita fetish/complex and the like is because it links them to ***** and less-than-pleasant connotations in the west. Really, really not pleasant. I mean, even in Japan "loli-con" is about having sex with little girls, not sex with girls wearing lolita. There is lolita porn, sure, but it usually goes under the cosplay sex section from what I've seen, which is much less weirder than the almost-***** section. Anyway.
It's also not a straight thing, either. It doesn't go across the board saying all lolitas find their clothes to be non-sexy, just like it doesn't go across the board saying all lolitas find their clothes sexy. I don't. Most that I talk to don't. My boyfriend doesn't. My mom does. It depends on who you ask and what they have been introduced to as to the term.
To be honest, this discussion is getting really stupid, though. =/ So let's end it and agree to disagree:
muninn feels sexy in her lolita. Amani, Jerry and I don't. There we go.
... now back to the White Peacock and all that horrid lace ... <_<

Personally, I think killitwithfire gun sounds like more fun, but whatever.
Anyway. Uh. I'm going to let this dwindle back on-topic again with the acting and the other things, and head elsewhere now that I've said what I wanted to say.

I just have to say one more thing on the subject then I'll drop it: muninn I did notice. But it was written at some point or another it even has it's on headding indicating that it is important. Look i'm not saying that Lolita (fashion) is a fetish for most of the wearers i'm just saying that Lolita is a fetish.
You need to be more specific when you say that something is a fetish/ be more careful with the way that you word things... mahaps you could have avoided things by saying that 'the term lolita is associated with ***** and fetish' or something to that effect. To say "lolita is a fetish" given the term has somany uses opens the statement to half a dozen interpretations aka you make people think you're saying that Lolita Fashion is primarily a Fetish thing. DONE! I took a gander at the site... and honestly was very sad. Some of the clothes are rather cute but I wouldn't really consider them Loli... maybe Cute and lolita inspired... but that's about it.

good luck i hope you make it!Also I'm getting kind of frustrated that some people are so stuck up and judgmental. At least she isn't sponsoring Gwen Stepani's fashions that are basically ripping off Japan street style. She's a model and wanted to wear Lolita so she might have taken whoever offered. White Peacock has a more casual Lolita inspired style but that doesn't make it a Bad brand. Its better than Hot topic is! EuthanasiaOfSanity I agree 100% with TalaRayne. If you're going to dress Lolita, make sure you do it right and properly. I recommend these places to get clothes for Lolita Blasphemina's Closet Victorian Maiden Innocent World Angelic Pretty Baby, The Stars Shine Bright In the Starlight Moi-meme-Moitie Metamorphose Temps de Fille huh ? could you list the urls as well ? I wonder if there is any shops not online to get Lolita from. You could probably find a Macy's dress and modify it. All I've shot is 2 shirts. Boylolita seems harder than girllolita for me TT__TT;

Actually, I'd say HotTopic's crummy lolita line was better than White Peacock, even.
The clothing they produce is not only a rip-off in terms of price to quality, but they also are notorious for having used stolen photos in the past to trick their customers into buying. I almost fell for it before someone warned me off, actually. Goddamn am I glad she did, too.
Also, a good number of those stores and sites that EuthanasiaofSanity referred to are linked in the FAQ and link list everyone seems to be ignoring. Guess that was another waste of time.

lol, No, White Peacock is just a crap-site that sells "Lolita". And no, Hot Topic and Bodyline is better than them, sorry to say. biggrin
And if you're frustrated, why, there's always the Love & Lace Guild. biggrin

I can't believe I read the entire thread. 0_0 And she still hasn't answered my question (2nd post in the entire thread).
So I'm guessing she and a few others are still relatively new to lolita fashion.

As for the links if you would have scrolled down just a little on the main Lolita Society page you would have encountered a FAQ thread. Make it your best friend because it'll help with most of your questions: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=11583735&page=1

JolieRini: lol, i am so sorry, i totally forgot about that post, i had other things on my mind. i ment to answer it, so i will now. I've officially been a lolita for about a month now, but i've been interested in it roughly a year or more. Also, when i decided to dress lolita, i made sure to do TONS of reasearch on the backgrounds, clothing styles, and overall look of lolita. So in other worlds, you could say i'm new, but i know a lot more about lolita than some new lolita, who really are NEW to lolita.

Ugh, I don't care what you say. The idea of Loli becoming commercial sickens me. It totally sucks out the originality, and a 'commercial loli' will lose its appeal to me.

I think I disagree. I can't blame anyone for wanting to make it big, while wearing the clothing they love. That's like either telling them to get rid of their ambition, or their love of Lolita.
