*Kero holds a hand up to Lyssan*

He has already been punished, and by the law of the Void, it is over, and never to be mentioned as a scolding or rebuke again, only as a story with which to dispense wisdom.

Now...as for you, Lyssan....why don't you....take Passura for a ride....since you are technically my mother....he's your grandson too...let him have a ride on Grandma dragon's back!

Lyssan laughs merrily. "Would you like to do that, Pasa? You'll need a coat and we'll have to rig up some form of harness."

The glow in the boy's eyes, something which has been missing for days, is answer enough.

She leads him out into the clearing and transforms into her rainbow scaled dragon form, whiskers, horns and all. It is then that he realizes that her form is very very different from Kerobian's. To begin with, she has no back legs, only a long undulating tail.

*Kero nods*

I'll fly with you as well....but Passura...you want her to ride...I actually have to beat my wings, and it makes for an uncomfortable bounce.

*Transforms, pulling a harness out of the Void and throwing it to Lyssan, modifying it for her*

There we go....let's have at it...*Throws Passura's coat to the boy*

The by puts on his coat, then with Lyssan's help he climbs up on her back to a point behind her head, about mid-point to her shoulders.

"Hold on tight... she cries after he straps himself in. " You won't fall, but getting flopped around in a barrel roll hurts."

Laughing, not knowing what a barrel roll is, the boy follows her instructions and wraps the straps about hs hands.

With a trumpeting cry of delight, she sweeps into the sky, moving through the clouds in an undulating motion... gliding on the winds, her great wings more for decoration than actual flight. They fly for an hour, dipping and soaring, playing tag with Kerobian, then she asks if he is ready.

"Ready?" Pasa echoes in confusion. Taking his reply as an assent, Lyssan does several loops and the infamous barrel roll. All of which he loves intensely.

*Kero smiles to see his son happy, and drops out soon, going into their cavern, where he moves everything into place for a quick dinner when they get back*

An hour later, Lysan walks in with the lad, her hand resting on his shoulder. "Kero... this child is absolutely fearless. He's done worn me out." But she is laughing as she says it and he is grinning like a maniac.

"Granmarei says she'll take me out again tomorrow if I want." he announces happily.

*Kero looks at him*

Now that is a kind offer....what do you say?

The boy turns to her and bows deeply. "I would like very much to fly with you tomorrow, Grammarei."

Lyssan rolls her eyes. "Enough of that... you're making me feel old. Call me LY and let's say that we'll go up if... IF... mind you... you get your lessons done, the weather is fair, and Tam doesn't need me. My weather bone isn't twinging and that child of mine seems to have everything under control these days, so...." she looks at him expectantly and he grins.

He turns to Kerobian and asks to be excused. Kero nods and when they check in on him later, they find him stretched out on his bed doing his copy work ahead of time.

*Kero smiles....and flicks his fingers...a small bowl of ice-cream appears next to the boy...when he looks up, there's nobody there*

Lyssan chuckles softly as the two of them tip toe away. "I hope things even out for him soon. Though I really don't mind being a part of his highs. He smiled today... freely for the first time in days. Kind of felt good inside seeing that."

*Kero nods*

Indeed....I just hope we can get him to be like a happy child again...he is so much like I was, at his age...withdrawn, into his shell...ah well....

Say Ly....do you think it was a fair punishment...making him copy eight pages for going into the Void?

Lyssan chuckles. "All depends, probably not... kind of light in my book, but then who knows? Did he learn anything from it? Did he merely rush through the task just to get it done... Or did he think about what he was writing. If I knew him a little better I could say yea or nay and be pretty sure of my answer. All I do know is he is so damn eager to please. Not many younglings are."

*Kero nods*

I think he learned from it. And would you say I was too harsh...or not harsh enough?
PostPosted: Sun Oct 11, 2009 6:12 pm

Lyssan sighs and shakes her head. "Kero, I'd thought you'd learn by now... punishments need not be harsh. One of the best punishments I handed out actually turned out to be fun for Keva. But that didn't mean he didn't learn from it. Didn't Tam teach you that... make it fit the transgression... make it a learning opportunity... so that the child learns by his mistake. Too many childhood transgressions are repeated because they don't understand the true why of things. Would you say he learned somehting from all this?"

*Kero rolls his eyes*

Lyssan...why do you think I was asking you in the first place. Yes, I think he learned from it. He copied eight pages from a book on the dangers of the Void...for pity's sake, he even copied the pictures...and I didn't even mention that! I was just asking your opinion on whether I'd been too harsh or not.
