"Hostage?" echoes Corby in confusion.
Tam laughs. "Sharmistra eats down here every chance she can get. Mica, too, when he can get free. We've been exploring the foods of the world, Kero and I, though he is the better cook by far. And they love exotic food. Still, today it's plain fare. Hope ye like it? Hope is still got a rumbling tummy from the party. I think he ate a bit too much rich food there. One of the reasons I insisted we eat dinner before going." says Tam dishing up bowls of hearty soup.

Tam chuckles and sets a large bowl before everyone. "Dig in folks. Bread's on the table already. Who wants milk and who wants cider... and no, Hope..., it's a fresh press. Stop licking your lips."

*Everyone except Kero, who drinks water, gulps down cider...even Salunia, who is allowed to have some by her parents...she looks at Kerobian*
Why you dwink water?

Tam looks at him as well and grins. "You heard the lady, why not explain yourself.... you've been doing this a lot lately.... It's not as if I'm serving carrot juice again."

*Kero shrugs*
I'm in trouble, Salunia....all I'm allowed to drink at this point is water...*Winks at Tam...he doesn't want Sal...or Corby....knowing about his Voidmagic*

*Kero shakes his head*
Leonin lie detector, eh? Okay then....I drink water because I want to drink water.
*Of course, this produces an obvious question*
But why you want to dwink watew, not...what is dis, Unkwel Tam?

Now Tam is openly laughing. "Now ye know what I lived with for years, Taro..."
Corby rolls his eyes and agrees. "I remember one week where all he wanted to know was why men went to the toilet standing up but women sat down... and you didn't want to go into an anatomy lesson with him just yet."
Tam groans. "Don't remind me... he never did let that one go until I did... did he?"

*Kero blushes*
Salunia...it's really not time for you to know why just yet...I promise I will tell you, but only when you are ready to know....you can prove to me you are ready by behaving, and being good.
*Salunia starts to whine, but Kero cuts her off*
And that's my final word on the subject.

Tam winks at her and hands her a cookie for dessert. "how's this for a consolation?' he asks rubbing her ears.
Corby laughs. "I remember when a certain cub would do anything for a cookie, even clean his room."

Once lunch is finished, Corby bids his farewell and returns to the temple, leaving the cottage a much quieter, subdued place.
Tam suspects he knows what is wrong, but he waits for Kero to bring up what is bothering him rather than probe. With Kero, at times, things had to perculate for him to even understand what was bothering him.
