KyuubiKeyblader Laharl is awesome, can fly, has kicka** abilities, is WAAAAAAY CUTE XD, rocks the bad attitude, kicks pplz butt just 'cuz, is downright evil yet manages to be the protagonist (a feat in and of itself), and lets face it, he has way less mental issues than "Red" and maintains his bada**ness without slipping up, not even once (and he can be a glory hog if he wants, he is evil, it actually adds a nice touch to his persona) Now for "Red" (i hate how Adell makes me use my favorite color as a condescension), every single reason you gave gives me a reason to be annoyed with him, what i am hearing is: one he is a wuss (substitute any synonym you like, and Cecil is awesome, i have his game, Adell is fail Cecil), two his moves are decent (yes i have seen them, not impressed), three he is a "love freak" and a wuss (he could do better than Rozalin- lolz, i used Laharl's word, and i am only interested in teh romance aspect if it is worth looking into...that one isnt), four he is a goody goody (i r not inspired), and FIVE!!! ......typical, typical, freakin cliche my dear ninja, although i respect your taste in er....him, as you are entitled to your own preferences, i am entitled to mine as well and i must say i am not impressed with the one called Adell.....OVERLORD LAHARL-SAMA!!!!! *holds up Laharl-sama banner* Reasonable in some regards, but lemme ask this as a counter question. After his fame and glory for one main role, What overlord in their right mind complains about the lesser things such as yogurt and losing vessels when he should be menacing and terrifying? I found this to be evident in number 2 when you fight Laharl the third time around (first was with the tower, second was when flonne shows up, and third time was him again but this time without flonne on his side) and since that little complaining fest all because he was hungry, just sold it for me. He was toned down in the epic department in my opinion. Now as for your reasons, theres some reasons that make sense and some dont (Hint being the Wuss part). I can kinda see it for reason number 1, however I was able to catch on easily in the beginning with the whole "I gotta stop this overlord from making my family become monsters" cause that in of itself is a legitimate reason why he's a "goody goody" as you mentioned. Not only that, but you kinda had to feel sorry for adell cause the memories of those he knew initially were getting wiped away slowly and they would of possibly either been killed or they would of killed adell. Btw, adell wasnt so much of a love freak in the romance aspect; he was all action and fighting oriented cause he didnt care who came his direction. He would just mow them all down with ease (except with a few characters such as Yukimaru, her brother, Tink, and probably etna) all to get his hands on Zenon. Also the whole Adell sneaking a kiss to rozalin, isnt considered a cliche so long as he can build his character. At first he was opposed to her simply cause of the lineage; however as the story continued, he slowly but surely grew attached to her cause of the siblings that were with him as he learned the backstory behind her. Not only that, but she liked the kids. So in essence, your reasons for hating adell wouldnt be his fault per say in the character; therefore, you would kinda have to blame rozalins persona initially. Also at the end of the good ending, he had the tenacity to withstand 3 or 4 lightning strikes and still move to cease rozalins darker side.

dear ninja,
all of your reasonings behind laharl being not epic and adell being more epic fail. As i said before, Laharl has already established himself as epic, his selfish ranting is part of his persona, therefore, adding onto himself as awesome *bows with flourish* and his menacing and terrifying are self implied, he doesnt have to act it to be it, he is already kicka** in his own right, why should he have to act it when it is already set in stone (even tho he does always act it)?
now for adell, yes he is a fighter all out brawler yea we get it, but its the very notion that he fell in love that ruins it. His entire persona is based on his fighting, no? so throwing in romance, even if it was a building process, clashes greatly and messes up the whole mix, (and with rozaline, like i said, he could have done better), and yes, you have also proved my point that his entire make-up is totally cliche (epic fail there)....i really dont need to go any further than that.

Now to epic-ly change the subject... I havent been online cause ive been on Habboon and i've been working on my fanfiction!!!! Im writing a fanfic about....Final Fantasy!!! This is the badassness i have so far!!! Final Fantasy: Uprising Cocoon, a place of happiness and tranquility. The beauties of this world never ceased to excite me. The people are wonderful, the government is caring, and everything is a peace. No one even cared about Gran Pulse, the desolate no man's land on the earth below. People were scared of Gran Pulse before. Thought barbarians and monsters lived there. Evilness and dark magic was carried on in Gran Pulse. To the residents of Cocoon Gran Pulse was hell. Truth to it all Gran Pulse was where Cocoon got all of it power. The generators for Cocoon were placed there along with many machines. Not saying that it was peaceful. Evil creatures beyond imagination here at home in Gran Pulse. L'Cie and fal'Cie with bad intentions hid there. Ps kyuubi: ninja As much as your saying laharl established this "epicness" you speak of and adell proved more of a failure, my thing behind this is," How far can one man whine to the point that you just croak?" Laharl killed it when he whined about the little crap and wanting the main role (not to mention pissing Etna off. No one angers etna and expects a drop out of his group). And whats worse was that he had to act like he was a 10 year old wanting candy when you know he isnt going to get any. On the flip side, Adell never made me complain about his persona and his cliches cause he never whined about it at all. He takes things with a grain of salt (as should the world) about any given situation. Abilites and powers, definately laharls turf. Character development, Adells turf simply cause he tries to put his differences aside with rozalin and succeeds throughout the game even in side arcs (given of course the ending in which you choose). Epicness, thats a tie flatout, no questions asked. But when it comes to redeeming qualities, Adell takes that simply cause he did alot of enticing when it came to rozalin and being a man. So this is no epic fail on anyones part; but thats why I feel adells more better than laharl. Im entitled to my reasons as are you. So I say we just drop that argument and move on.
