Corby glares at him as he brushes the hair from his eyes. "I'm not a baby, ye know... My technique isn't all that bad... I'm just out of form... and although playing by ear is nice... I'd like a bit of music to read from. How am I to practice when I get back iffin I mis-hear what you are doing.....

The neko nods and curls up in that odd half cat half man way of his on a stool by the firem wrapping his tail about his legs. "It's dang cold out there today. Cuts to the bone it does. Maybe I'm just getting old, but it never seemed to bother me before." He rubs his hand to warm it up and worries the muscles in his palm a bit before pulling forth his pipe, one that makes Kero smile for he has one very similar to it and knows it was a gift from the neko's former teacher, just as his was one as well.

"Shall we?" says Corby softly after a few experimental trills.

Corby does his best, but it is obvious that he is, as he put it, out of form. He cannot seem to go anywhere near as fast as Kero. Fiinally he puts his pipe down and shakes his head. "I'm sorry, Kero.... I'd rather learn how to play good than how to play fast."

Corby follows him carefully, then suddenly he laughs. "Ah.... your pipe was modified, wasn't it? Mine was too, but I think he perfected it with you. That extra hole you have allows you a bit more freedom in adapting the chordings... that and your paws are larger. May I?" he asks touching the pipe in Kero's hand.

Corby examines it with a soft whistle of admiration. "Nice... really nice. The gripe is off for me though. He has improved. Or did you make this one yourself?"

"How large was your paw then? Ours grow with us, a long like the humans do, but I know some of the other cat families do not." says Corby examining Kekkro's paw and comparing it to his own. Kero's is wider and the toes a tad bit stubbier. Corbiy's are not exactly human in shape, but the longer narrower digits seem to allow him that extra degree of function.

Corby whistles again. His own claws are a lot like Tam's, barely retractable. "Now I see... I think. I was wondering how you managed it. So were you born like that... no... wait a minute... I remember well the claws ye had..." He hums a sort ditty and waves his hands over the pipes. When they glow with a soft golden radiance he nods firmly and hands them back. "Thought so... enchanted... not to better the skill but to ease the use and to grow with you. He gave ye no more and no less than ye needed at any given time, to be the best that ye can be. Damn, that's one fine spell he used. It's still active ye know."
