"Yes... You did a wonderful job, by the way." Kalila said with a nervous look. However, she wasn't lying. For someone who was chased by a sh*tload of rabidly infected people, he was quite in one piece. But, Kalila immediately calmed as Mizuki started to laugh. She winced, her right eye closing, and smiled easily as she accepted the hit to the back of her head. She relaxed the part of her that was worried about Mizuki's reaction and felt a little easier as he continued to speak. She fell back from her tippy-toeing position over their leader's shoulder and stood next to Nicholas again. "He took that easier than I expected..." Nicholas mumbled to his sister with a smile. "Then... I suspected the same thing." Kalila whispered back with a sheepish smile. "Man... I can't wait to get my hands on a video game." "Nicho, it hasn't even been 24 hours since you played one..." "Exactly! I'm gonna be d*mned before I let that happen." Nicholas said with a grin.
To ruin the mood, or so it seemed to Nicholas, there were many of the odd throated and guttural sounds that come from the infected. It came from up ahead. But, they sounded angry from something before hand, thus they were occupied. "They are groups fighting each other..." Kalila whispered to Nicholas, referring to the noises ahead. "Like the time we ran past a bunch of them... Hopefully we can do the same this time. Mizuki spoke up, explaining that they were downwind. "We're so lucky!" Nicholas whispered happily, yet urgently to his sister as if saying, “We’re lucky, aren’t you so grateful?” As if, if the fact was not praised it would disappear and all hell would break loose. Kalila nodded quickly and exaggeratedly as to calm her little brother. Mizuki spoke again and Kalila winced. She had forgotten to ask about that. But, if she was lucky, David remembered. "I'm fine with that plan." Kalila answered, Nicholas nodded in agreement with his sister. It was useless to waste energy and fear for no reason. Might as well save that for a time when there is no alternative. However, as soon as Mizuki finished up and before Kalila or David could react, Ada held up her hand. She whispered that she could help. She patted her cousin on the arm as if to say, "It's alright." Nikita's custom gun, the one that had "Bad@$$" written on it, had a silencer and a laser sight on it. He took it out with a smirk. He had taken out the box of them when he was at the gun store, giving one of both things to Ada. At the time, he had pocketed a few of the tube-like devices. As a Nikita took out a tube and threw it at Mizuki for him to catch, he commented on how lucky the he was. He said that Shotguns need special silencers and if he weren’t so lucky, he would just have to deal with the explosions. Afterwards, he looked to Ada and told her giving Mizuki a laser sight would be somewhat pointless because of the way a shotgun fired. Ada agreed and looked to everyone else, asking if any of them wanted silencers or laser sight. "Oh, oh! Me! Both!" Nicholas said in excitedly, raising his hand and waving it like a child in a classroom who really badly wanted to answer a question. Ada took one of each from Nikita and tossed it to the kid. He caught them and put them on quickly. When he didn't know how to put on one thing he turned to his sister to do it for him. Kalila didn't know much about guns, but she was good with logical problems, thus having high common sense. She figured it out, attached, and handed it back to her brother. "Good?" Kalila asked in a motherly tone, as if asking if new shoes fit okay. "Yeah!" Nicholas answered. He knew how to use both devices, he played enough video games for such a thing. "Ok."
Mizuki started as the head of the group, the two siblings looked at each other and shrugged going directly behind him in the same manner. Nicholas held his now silenced rifle at his shoulder within eyes view for better aim. Kalila had her katana out and directly in front of his angled up a little as to strike fast and direct when need be. As they advanced, two roars got louder, not because the infected were getting closer to them, but because they were getting closer to the infected. The smaller details they could not hear from their earlier distance now made themselves painfully known. Rips and tears of flesh, liquids hitting cement, snaps of jaws as they bit, and the cracking of breaking bones could now be heard. Without realizing it the siblings had packed tighter with the rest of the group, it was a subconscious thing.

"I got a few silencer's from the gun store..." David said, reaching into his bag. Apparently no one heard him cause by the time he had gotten to the silencer's, Ada had already handed them out.Oh well, I can give some to any extra people we might meet... or anyone who doesn't already have one at Nina's. David shook his head at Ada's offer, attaching the silencer's to his uzi's, "I already have laser sights." Alex raised his hand, saying, "I could use a laser sight." When alex got it, he was struck by dissapointment reallizing it wouldn't work well in the slowly rising light. Alex was struck by confusion when he saw his dad pull one of the cans of soda out of his pack. I have two more, and a two liter He said, weighing the can in his hands. Mizuki started running, like some guy on Gears of War, and David pulled back his arm. David threw the can, high and far, over where it sounded like the group of infected were. David smiled at how far he was able to throw it. He heard it hit the ground, and explode, on the other side of the group of infecteds. David's smile got wider as he heard a few of the infected scamper off towards the sound. Alex grinned too, knowing his dad had a pretty good throwing arm. It was one of the few things he inherited from his dad and not his mom. Alex followed the group, having a slight difficuty keeping up. David followed his son, easily passing him, but he slowed down to stay close to him. He also watched as Kalila and Nicholas huddled close together. David chuckled thinking, If you don't have family what do you have?

Eri's eyes undilated one she realized her surroundings. She had been fighting the urge to kill Mizuki for a long period of time, and it put her in a trance state. She looked around, and a strong bloodlust came over her, but she shoved the bar in her mouth in response. She heard video games and her ears perked up. "Can we play video games at the store..? They have tvs!" She whispered. She froze when she felt an awkward atmosphere. "??" She looked directly at Mizuki, who looked at her in a rude manner. She looked at Nikita while he was distracted, she snuck next to Mizuki. "I know your secret.. and you know mine....." She whispered as not to alarm anyone. "I'll help you hide it if you help me.."

Crimson stood up, and ran a hand through her curly hair.
"Alright, I'm tired of sitting around. We need to stop talking about what we're going to do and do it. Nina and Garath, do you mind me tagging along?"
She placed a steady hand on her swords, whom hadn't had some fresh air in awhile.

Mizuki was almost a reflection of Nicholas' own excitement as Nikita tossed the silencer to him. He felt a silent and almost overwhelming sense of gratitude towards the guy that he could have quite happily tackled him to the ground in a manly wrestle/hug. But he restrained himself. Instead, he grinned like a complete idiot and nodded his head to Nikita in a sort of bow of respect. A few months back, Mizuki wouldn't have had a clue how to attach a silencer. Hell - at the start of the year he didn't fully get the shotgun that was now his best companion. At the start of the year, he knew that if you pulled the trigger - it went boom and something ended up with a fat a** hole in it. He had no concept of the safety, no concept of how to reaload, or check the barrel for obstructions without blowing your face off. But times had changed and he had had to change with them. He had studied the gun, and other guns from a big book his dad kept under his side of the bed. Now, he uncocked the gun and attatched the silencer with a fluid ease, a crystal clear replica of the page in his father's book shining brightly in his mind like a guiding star. To think, back in the store he hadn't liked this guy. Now Nikita had climbed the ranks immediately, even outstripping David. But to be fair, Mizuki's relationship with him was rocky if best. Now, in a better mood, he could put down his internal conflict with David as reprecussions of a rocky start. Hell, maybe when this little venture was over and they were all tucked up safely in the mart - he could have a little heart to heart. Even in his good mood this didn't sound likely - but looking around him at the sinister shadows of the world as it had become - he decided anything was possible.
He flinched slightly at the sound of the can hitting the ground and immediately felt the compulsive urge to hound it down, despite registering that it was David with a distraction. He hadn't thought of that tactic. Having nothing on his person to use, he had simply assumed that no one else had either. A foolish mistake. He felt he should congratulate David on a wise move - but he didn't. Things like that could wait. He slowed his pace as the others began to lag behind. He wanted to keep a lead - to protect his flock. But he didn't want the gap to get big enough to be infiltrated and used against them. As he slowed, a small figure caught the corner of his eye. His pupils shot back into pinpricks as an involuntary rumbling started deep in his throat as a rancid stench only he could smell over took him. This girl was an idiot to get so close -especially if she knew. He physically shook as he fought of the urge to attack her. Pushed it down, even shifted his finger from the trigger as if he didn't trust himself. He shot the girl a sharp look. His eyes were narrowed and filled with a venom and bloodlust that wasn't human in the slightest. "Your not in a posistion to try and make bargains, little one." He hissed back under his voice. His voice seemed deeper and more beastial. It rumbled as if something more sinsiter was bubbling just beneath the surface. "You may think you know something. But you don't. You know nothing. I do." He realised he was being a p***k. But when your fighting with yourself tooth and nail to stop yourself tearing out a small girls throat with your own teeth he figured he could be excused his lack of manners. "As I am sure your aware, it's probably not the best idea to be in such close reach of eachother. If I had my way - you wouldn't be with the group at all. Your a danger to all of us and you understand that. Also, understand this. I don't need anyone's help. I'm coping just fine. Now, before I start to not cope with the current situation, I suggest you move your butt straight back to the back with your companions. Get me?" As if to make a point of his finality on the matter, Mizuki strode a few forceful steps forwards, seperating himself from the girl. The moment he did, he felt his head clear of the thick fogs of rage. In its place, now laid bare, was the beginings of a strong Hunger.

Jadus slung the judo staff on his shoulders, walking behind Mizuki, keeping his distance after noticing the certain trends in his actions. Tightening his grip, Jaden said to himself Better be prepared for anything...........he sniffed the air, the metallic iron smell was as promenient as the oxygen they breathed. Even though Jaden was a big man he was very squeamish around blood, another flaw in his physique, he keeped a eye on Mizuki just incase the bloody smell "Insured" his suspicions.

Eri became bothered by his tone of voice. Before all of this... before she was turning into the...THING she was... she would have been scared by the threatening atmosphere, but now she felt an almost unbearable urge to kill someone. She had the bar in her mouth so that the taste would distract her from the stench of his virus, maybe make a pact to protect eachother's secrets; but the bar was gone now, and she was ready to hurt him. She breathed in deeply, filling all of her anger in that one breath, then breathed out. "Okay..." She said to herself. "Keep distance from the @sshole...." She whispered, looking over as Nikita passed, and silently grabbing his hand as they walked. She smelled the blood and her eye twitched, her small hand death-gripping Nikita's; but she once again after a few moments, went back into the deep state of Dilation that kept her sanity in tact. Once they reach the store.. She'll grab some gum to help her calm herself, but for now....
Mizuki should watch his back.

Nina looked from Garath to Crimson as she piped up. "You can tag along... But we can't really do anything until those sad excuses for living people are taken care of by Sergeant Phillips and Thomas." Nina mumbled. She looked out of the window real quick as to check on the progress. There were corpses all over the ground as well as masses of smashed organs that were once corpses. She also saw Thomas actually fighting on level with a weapon with the infected. "Ay Dios mio... Esta loco." she murmured under her breath. She crouched back near Garath. "If you want you can help me and Garath set more zombies in flames..." She switched subjects quickly, not able to think straight from the odd situation. "We're meeting Kalila and them at the Wal-Mart not far from here. We have to leave soon. I don't want them to have to wait on us. We've got a vehicle or two after all." Nina said referring to the serge’s truck, not knowing about the tire, and Reshion's car.
Kalila and Nicholas were directly behind Mizuki and when Jaden made his way behind Mizuki, the siblings almost reacted violently. Not because they had something against Jaden, his bulk and their adrenaline-heightened alertness did not mix well. To make shake them up a little more, when David threw his soda can, Kalila whipped her head around to the general direction and Nicholas almost went trigger happy if his logic senses didn't kick in. Kalila, to start with, was in general a jumpy person. This situation was killing her nerves. As they heard the scurrying, both of them started to quicken their pace. The siblings rather conquered their space in front of Jaden again. Mizuki, Nicholas, and I are a team... You don't separate us. She thought with a bit of an edge in defense against Jaden.
Nikita and Ada both continued onward, near the middle of the group, David and Alex behind them; the Indian siblings, Jaden, and Mizuki in front of them. The cousins had put Eri in between them as to make sure she least of all could get ambushed or hurt. Nikita Hoped the flu medicine kept the virus back at least for a little bit. He figured whatever precious time they could harvest would result in more time to figure out how to get rid of it. Ada looked down at the young teenaged girl. If the situation had been normal, just based off her appearance, Ada would have guessed she was just a little sick. All that was giving away her ailment was just her level of paleness. The girl had been pale to start out with, now she was just unnaturally pale, worse than an anemic. Ada was quickly brought back to reality with a rather close moan, at least in comparison with the others ones. Her attention was again flipped when she saw Eri run off. She quickly smacked her cousin on the arm. Nikita had been too busy paying attention to his surroundings. He had participated in a couple of mafia brawls and knew the stealthy sneak ups are what got a man killed. His attention was turned to Eri's figure running forward to Mizuki in the front of the group when Ada pointed it out. He frowned and was about to go retrieve her, thinking she was just being tactless at the moment. But, when he saw her whispering to Mizuki, he dropped it. He thought she might want to know something about the plan or the store, after all she had sounded happy about the video games. But still, something bothered him about those two being near each other. He didn't know what it was, but they seemed to hate each other for now reason. Ada, on the other hand, no matter what her reasoning was, didn't like Eri being away from their protection. Mizuki was in the very front of the group. To have Eri there was to have her closer to danger, closer than she would ever allow. If the girl didn't come back soon, she would go retrieve her herself.
The moan of an infected, the same one Ada had reacted to, was heard by the siblings. This resulted in Kalila biting her lip and start shaking a little. Inside her Mary Jane shoes, her toes were cold due to the adrenaline rush pushing her energy into her arms and legs. Just it being daylight made the noise seem that much louder, she couldn't explain why, it just seemed that way to her. Nicholas ran a sweaty palm through his spiky black hair in an effort to calm himself. Why is the infected so close... It's not that close... But it's closer than the other ones. Why isn't this one fighting like the rest of 'em... Or attracted by the soda? he thought frantically. As Kalila saw Eri come up from her peripheral vision, she almost sliced the girl in two, not knowing what she was. But, luckily, Nicholas saw the situation unfold and happen to be standing so that he got a full view of Eri when she came. He managed to grasp his sister’s arms and he quickly whispered, urgently, “It’s the young chick!” Kalila calmed and watched the girl walk up to Mizuki. As she whispered, Kalila observed. That girl is crazy pale... she thought worried. But before her worry could sink in Kalila's breath hitched. Just having those two near each other bothered her. Like Nikita, she had no rational reason for thinking so. Somethings up with that chick... I never got a good look at her before but... Something is terribly wrong. She's not infected, is she? F*ck! No... No... Quit jumping to conclusions. But... She's so pale. There could be plenty of reasons for that... But that's not right. Does Ada know? Kalila's thought were all over the place. She quickly stopped looking at the girl, figuring she had better pay attention to the present life-threatening situation and worry about the future ones in the future. Kalila was normally someone who worried about the future a lot, but now was just not the time. Nicholas had been paying attention to Mizuki because he just seemed pissed. "What the hell did the chick do?" Nicholas questioned after the girl fell back.
Nikita and Ada met up with Eri as they walked towards her. Nikita gave her a smile and Ada gave her a frown. Eri quickly gripped Nikita's hand hard. He was taken by surprise, but just took it as fear and went with it. Ada on the other hand would not drop what just ensued. She looked at the young girl and whispered to her, so she was not over heard, for her to stay away from Mizuki. She said she didn't trust him, especially near her. As soon as she was done speaking, Ada gagged a little. The smell of blood made itself known in their vicinity. She quickly took her shirt over her nose and kept a tight grip on her gun. Nikita held the hand not held by Eri over his mouth and nose, leaving a small space for air to pass through to his mouth.
Their group was assaulted by the sudden smell of blood. It smelled rancid in comparison with fresh blood that flowed through human veins. It was infected blood, meaning it was already old a gross in the veins and when spilled it just went even further south. The masks that the siblings wore took from the smell a little. However, did not stop it. "Holy crap..." Nicholas mumbled under his breath as he subconsciously tightened his grip on his rifle and blinked the tears that were starting to form in his eyes. They weren't tears of fear, he was much too past that point. They were result of the smell. Kalila immediately started breathing with her mouth instead. She knew she would start gagging if she didn't. Fearing for there bad attempt at cover being blown if she did, she took quick precaution. "Mizuki... What do you see ahead?" She asked, wondering just how much gore lay ahead. Her voice was shaking due to the adrenaline in her system.

Eri's expression was as dark as night as the smell of blood made her cravings even worse. "What...is that stench...?" She said quietly to Ada. "It's... It's disgusting......" She was sweating from the palms, and her nails began to Dig into Nikita's hand. She looked around. "....." She was hungry... and if she didn't eat, someone would have to compensate... "Does anyone have more food...?" She whispered. "I had no breakfast this morning...." She said, silently laughing at her own semi-joke. She was attached to Nikita's hand, afraid to let go. She suddenly smelled a twinge of blood, and quickly turned to see Nikita's hand was bleeding from her grip. Her expression became bothered as she was dying to lick the blood until it was all gone. She let go of Nikita's hand and SOFTLY grabbed Ada's. 'Oh god.....' She thought, looking at the blood on her fingers. "...." She slowly reached for her mouth. 'Maybe a little won't hurt.....'

Garath took the bottle from nina glad that she didn't take what he meant in the wrong way. "Maybe if we keep up the fire they'll just keep wlaking into it too stupid to realise." He began spray liberal amounts around. Tossing one bottle far the right out of the way of Terry an Thomas. He didn't want to accidentaly hit them with any of this stuff. When Crimson came over he let Nina explain the situation as she was the leader here. "Well at the rate they're going through those zombies it shouldn't be too much longer." He tried to speak lightly even though the situation was seriuos. "It'll be good to see the others when we get to Walmart. Should we bring the dinner we cooked up with us?" He said this as he tossed another botle out the window. He kept talking partially to calm himself and partially to try and make the situation less serious.

Crimson nodded and ran a hand through her hair, and then with a jolt, she realized,
"We should cut our hair."
She had spoken out loud, but not loud enough for everyone to hear, so she repeated herself.
"And before you can ask me why, I'll tell you. Since we're going to be leaving this place soon, we going to have to fight the zombies hand to hand a couple of times, and what is the easiest thing to grab? Your hair. Especially, when you a mane like mine. So, anyone want to grab the scissors?"

David overheard Eri's little comment to Mizuki. Not because he was good at hearing, but because he was focusing as much on the little girl as he was his surroundings. Mizuki doesn't need help hiding it... He does that plenty well on his own. The sudden smell of rank, old, blood came over them. David was mostly use to the smell of blood, but this... It was discusting. David's stomach held, his son however was not so lucky. After Alex was done losing his lunch, David patted him on the back, saying softly, "You ok?" Alex shook his head, but he still felt like he could lose more at any given time, as long as they stayed near that stench. David, still subconciously watching Eri, saw how she was grabbing Nikita's arm. Normal reaction. He thought. Then he noticed the blood. He watched as she looked at it, switching arms from Nikita to Ada. He waited to see what she would do. He was nearly positive that she would taste the blood. The question was if she would go back for more. If she did David would have no problem lodging a bullet through her brain before she could get anymore. David watched as she slowly raised her fingers to her lips. David was subconciously raising his gun, and pointing it at the girl. Alex saw this, and asked, "Dad... What are you doing?" He said, looking where he was. He saw Eri about to taste the blood. I knew it! I knew it! She's infected! Alex's mind rang.

She pulled her hand away quickly. "ew!" She said, making a face. She was faking it of course, but to save face, she had to say it was gross. "I don't know how they do that!" She sounded more like she was convincing herself than the others. She made sure to be quiet as she spoke. She wiped her hand off and shook her head. "Does anyone have water?? I need to get rid of this disgusting taste......!" 'Or I'm going to want more of it..'

'Is sujest hair bands. Or hats. And helmets would couver hair anyway." He said quickly. He liked his medium hair. And he liked looking at Nina;s long hair. So he really didn't like this idea of cutting his hair or anyone elses. BUt at the same time he knew that it might be agood idea. "Also if a Zombie gets your hair then It might scratch your scalp. So I vote helmets instead. They couver your hair and protect you." He defended his opinion with what facts he could think up quickly. But if Nina and the otehrs decided to he would follow suit.

Mizuki was hit hard by the smell. But not in the same way as everyone else. Behind him, distantly, he heard the inside workings of Alex's stomach. The subtle gargle of pressure as the body prepared to purge itself, the slick wet noises of the throat opening up that little bit more and then the surge of displaced air as the partially digested food ran backwards up the young ones digestive track. Mizuki was used to his increased hearing by this stage and just took it for granted. But there was a time when it grew more perceptive. That time was now.
He made very careful attention to keep his back to the group, thankful for the goggles and mask obscuring his face. Beneath it his mouth was open, breathing heavily and slowly, as if trying to absorb as much as the metallic tastes from the air as he possibly could. Beneath his goggles his pupils were so small they were mere flicks in a sea of bloodshot veins. Currently his eyes were just reddened, but the colour was not far from bleeding into an off yellow hue that indicated the Change. It seemed that Mizuki was on his last piece of reserve before his body entered crisis state. After that he would have to ride the infection out until he once more reached equilibrium as he had done back in the canteen of Nina's flats. And seeming the group had grown in numbers and there were more suspicians than ever flowing around, he wanted to at least be safely holed up in the Mart before he let the inevitable happen. At least in a place that big, he could claim he was going to secure something out back and flee out into the city before he turned completely. Somehow the idea of being locked in a shopping center with everyone struck him terribly like a game of cat and mouse in a labyrinth. He didn't doubt that they would kill him if they needed too - infact that worried him just as much. But his main concern would be that they wouldn't act in time. They were used to his presence and the majority of them had no reason to suspect that he was a - a mutation. They would see him coming at them and think nothing off it, until it was too late. A very human shudder ran through him as he imagined coming round covered in the blood of his friends. At this thought, the very real memory of coming round in his flat - with his wouldbe saviours battered and mutilated corpse laid at his feet and minced chunks of his brains still stuck in his teeth.
Mizuki didn't notice Jaden's advancement. Nor did he care. Though it was no slight against Jaden - he would rather Jaden would get that little bit to close than someone like Kalila or Nicholas. A small smile ran across his curled back lips, in a disgusting grin that was something too like a shark trying to smile. Hell, he'd even prefer Jaden over David. How messed up was that? He didn't answer any questions aimed at him now. Simply tuned out. He needed all his current attention to stay focused. His hands were shaking badly now, his fingers involuntarily spasming and curling into claws. He clutched his gun harder to mask this. Looking down at the silencer upon it and the gloves on his hands he couldn't help but attempt another smile. I've come a long way since my reliable ol' plank! he thought brightly. He'd left that board with the nail in it some way back, despite getting himself a nice new nail for it. Shame, though it had battered his hands to use it, it had been a nostaligic weapon. It had allowed him some grim satisfaction to kill the Crazies with it. Like he was putting them through the misery they had caused others. He raised a hand behind him and patted the air slowly and deliberately, to indicate that the others should slow their pace. As soon as he heard their footsteps slow slightly, he started forewards with a new, swift pace. Behind him he heard two heart beats quicken, one most of all. He recognised this immediately as Kalila's. And to his personal disgust, he found that deep down he longed for nothing more than to feel that muscle's quick and bloody pulsations between his teeth. He quickened along the edge of the building where the street opened up into a right branch. It was from this right branch that the noises, smells and territorial stenches were eminating from. Poking his head round the corner cautiously, his gun held at the ready, one hand hooked under the butt securing it, the other finger rested ready against the trigger.
What greeted his eyes was Carnage. His eye sight had been enhanced. Even through the scratched lens of the goggles he could see everything in technicolour glory. The majority of the fighting had moved out of sight, down another right junction a short way down the street. The majority of the fight was out of sight, a few Crazies that fell back from the main force were locked in deadly embraces of combat at the back in plain sight. They were literally locked together. Tangled limbs flailed furiously, clawing at the air and seeking flesh. Hisses and grunts were issued, but there was no time in this deadly melee for any full roars. Heads whipped around like snakes, each seeking to hit a mark. As he watched one lunged, but was promptly headbutted in the face by the opponant. His eyes widened and his teeth clamped down together tightly as the would be attacker's head reeled back from the blow, crushed nose oozed thick black slime. The opponant seized the oppurtinity and seized the exposed throat with its teeth, biting deep and tearing back with brute strength tearing free a large chunk of flesh. What followed was not a fountain of crimson spray from the ruptured vein, but a cloggy advancement of black slime. It bubbled as air trapped behind it passed through. Mizuki could hear those bubbles and gargles even at this distance. It excited him, thrilled him. His hands twisted on his gun impatiently. The victor untangled itself from its dying victim and rose. The next part shocked Mizuki, or at least the part of him still able to comprehend it. Rather than attack further - mindlessly - rather than charge straight back into the all out combat that was still happening a few paces away, halfway out of Mizuki's vision - the victor stood above the looser and watched it die. It stood there, chest heaving, arms dangling limply at its sides - and watched. There was something so conciously sadistic about that which made Mizuki's concious self shiver, as his very blood turned to ice. But the other part, the part rapidly going for total control, roared its approval. It momentarily seized control of Mizuki's legs and tried to make him rush forwards towards the scene and try his luck against the winner. But he caught himself just in time. The result was an awkward little stumble from which Mizuki seemed to recover. As he stared, the victor seemed to gain enough from its victims desperate dying flails and stomped down quickly stomped down with its heel onto the upturned forehead. The skull split as if it were made from paper mache. . .
Staring out at the street he saw that though the majority of the brawling had moved further down the street out of the way - the chaos left behind had not. The street was littered with that looked to be around forty bodies - though it could have been higher. It was hard to tell when there were so many severed limbs laying around the place seemingly without an owner. There seemed to have been an oil spill, the road glistening black. And it moved. The whole area was coated with flies. They buzzed a hum so lost it was lost beneath the sounds of the struggle - but Mizuki heard it. And before long so would the others. The sunlight reflected off their wings in a way that for some reason made Mizuki feel really, really uncomfortable. They crawled eagerly over body parts, disappearing into open and festering wounds to lay their eggs. They crawled across the films of open eyes and dissppeared into the locks of matted and filthy hair. The road itself was not a neat assortment of limbs. The battle had been a gorey one. Splattered grey matter, like overcooked mince, was thrown around the area like some twisted excuse for confetti. Large strings of muscle floated on top of the coagulated blood like driftwood in tar. Headless torsos lay on their sides, their ribcages torn open - splintered, bloodied bones stretched up to the skies like white fingers seeking mercy. The majority of these bared chest cavities were far from what posters in school Biology rooms would have you believe. They lacked hearts, lungs of diapraghms. What lay within those opened coves was either hollowed - the organs littered short distances away. Or, more sinisterly, were a mashed, tattered and clawed at pulp of expired flesh and ruptured veins. Stomachs lay open, their contents spilling out across the flow, long snake like innards often draped over the bodies of those that fell before. The stench of stomach acids, puss and blood rose into the air. It was acrid. The smell of off egg whites, bile and the metallic tang of copper all rolled into one - and yet dominated somehow by the smell of rotting fish.
Mizuki shook his head and turned back to the rest of the group. Though the pathway was now entirely clear - those Crazies were significantly wrapped up in battle. Though Mizuki made no assumptions that at the prospect of fresh meat and food wouldn't cause a momentary truce amongst the Crazies. That would be too much to hope for and an idiots bet. Though conditions weren't perfect it was now or never. If things got bad, they would kill off the stragglers with headshots. With the help of the silencers, it might go unnoticed by the rest of the group. But once again, that might be too much to hope for. He moved back to the rest of the group, taking deep breaths to regulate himself. The closer he got to his companions, the more he became away of the swoosh of blood passing through their veins. The pumping of their hearts. In Alex's case, the uneasy rumblings of his unsettled stomach. Each and everyone delicious. The closer he got the more aware he was of Eri. The more he smelt her. The harder it was not to do like those on the opposite side of these buildings and go for her - tangle with her in a deadly embrace like those he had just witnessed. He shook his head to clear his thoughts -though this gesture could be taken as an expression of displeasure at what he had just seen. "We can see the Mart from here." His voice was strained, as if he was having to concentrate more than usual to keep control of it. Though this, once again, could equally be him struggling to keep his own lunch as Alex had not been able too. "One more obstacle so far as I can tell." He swallowed loudly as he felt the beginings of a rumble in his chest that looked set to give birth to a growl. "Way not clear. Stragglers. Run across. Don't stop til you reach the doors. Shoot only as last resort - don't know if fight will break and persue in hopes of food." He swallowed again. His mouth was becoming painfully dry. His speech was now fractured, Mizuki having to direct more concentration into keeping control of concious thought from forming words. Though, from his hushed tones, it could have been that he was simply trying to get his points across. Only those stood closest would hear how irregular his breathing had become. As he heard Kalila address the question to him, he turned his head to the side. The majority of his face was hidden, so it was impossible to tell his expression. Just as well. His lips were curled back to expose his teeth, his eyes wide, pupils almost gone - his brow furrowed slightly. A light sweat had started from the pressure of his concentration. And at the same time, a gruesome parody of sympathy was trying its damnedest to work across his features as he heard the anxiety in Kalila's voice. "Pretty bad, hun." It was the first sentence that sounded normal. The sympathy that couldn't find expression on his face, made it into his voice. He rested a hand on her shoulder and then looked to Nicholas. Only now that there was physical contact would Kalila be able to tell that he was shaking. "I want you two to run together. . " His voice became tight. "Don't look." Then, he turned his back and without a warning word - sprinted across the gap. There was something different in his run. Not the gait so much, that remained the same. It was as if they were watching a normal recording of Mizuki running, only in fast forwards. Even the smallest movements seemed sped up. He cleared the gap - there was one warning shout from the opening and for a moment, Mizuki though he'd been spotted. Slamming his back against the wall of the building across the gap, he peered round and saw that the noise had come from one of the Crazies. It had broken apart from the Crazie it was in battle with, clutching what was very clearly a severely broken arm. The tatters of the sleeve that remained on that limb were quickly darkening with blood. Sensing weakness as its opponant backed off, a sinister animalistic grin played on the other's lips, it's torn lower lip hanging in a grissly meaty flap exposing his bleeding gums. It lunged forwards and before you could blink both bodies were once more rolling around in the floor. Mizuki hefted his gun, his legs now shook, but it was less visible. His breathing skipped and then quickened, his chest swiftly falling and rising like a dog in heat. Grunting from the concentration it took - Mizuki raised a hand and waved the others across. Waiting at the wall to cover their way.
