*Kero opens his mouth...then stops...and headsmacks so hard his head flies off into the wall*
God dang it....Pass...can you hand me that, please....I swear, I'm so old I'm coming apart at the seams....oh well, you know us old folks, always coming unglued over something....at least I don't bury it in the sand like some do...it's weird, though...usually I'm head and shoulders above this kind of thing...guess I got a little ahead of myself...

Passura nods solemnly. "I... I know, mes'sirrah. But did you not once say you would rather be dead and right than alive and wrong...." He's misquoted Kerobian, but that is how he understood one of Kero's favorite excuses for the things he does.

I don't recall saying that....but you are right in that regard...however, you did disobey me, and put your soul in danger. How do you think I should deal with this? What do you think your punishment should be?

Never lower your gaze to anyone, Passura....be proud in what you do, even when you have done wrong. You did something wrong here, but you did it for the noblest of reasons...therefore, I'[m giving you the choice...what do you think a fair punishment for this would be?

Doesn't mean I'll always listen, sirrah... I will try to but sometimes..." he blushes purple, something one has to look close at his face to notice. "Sometimes I find myself going to danger than away from it."

*Kero nods, steering Passura towards a bookshelf, where he selects a book about the dangers of the Void...turning to the chapter labeled children, he sets it in front of Passura, along with pencil and paper*
Very well...you will copy this chapter, word for word, and will stop when I get up to leave, or when you finish copying it, whichever comes first.
**That chapter isn't very long....only about eight pages**

The boy nods glumly, but does as he is asked. Sitting where Kero shows him to sit, he begins to painstakingly copy the chapter in question. Ever so often Kero checks on him to find him hard at work, his tongue flicking in and out, testing the air around him, his eyes intent on the paper in front of him. It is only when Kero goes to tell him it is time to go that he discovers he has a budding prodigy on his hands. Not only has he rendered the pages neatly and correctly, he has drawn each image down to the smallest detail.

Passura.....you do good work...perhaps when you are older, I might take you on as a secretary...I need someone who can copy like that....for now, let's go home...and no side trips this time.

The fox opens her eyes and sits up with an enormous yawn. "Back already? What time is it anyway? And thanks for letting me sleep here, old friend. I don't mind helping Tam out once in awhile... but when I'm not in view he's quite capable of handling things himself." she grins merrily. "And when I am there all hell breaks out. Probably because he thinks I should help out and not Bez."

It's been awhile, Lyssan...while you were asleep, my budding prodigy here managed to get himself lost in my Void. It's a good thing I found him, too, or he'd have been wyrm food.

How a white fox can turn pale is beyond the understanding of her creator, but she does. "Sweet Lady of Night!" she exclaims in horror. "Child, whatever possessed you to enter that realm willingly?"
Passura merely looks at her, then turns his head to Kerobian and smiles. "someone needed me." is all he says.
