Tam looks up at him with a puzzled frown. "You want me to pierce your ears. Why? I made the clips so you wouldn't have to do that, Taro... but I can adjust it if you truly wish."

Tam nods. "You would wear them about here on the ear. They are hinged with a magical spring, so once they are on they will adjust to the thickness of your ear and not pinch... and won't come off until you wish them off as well... like so." says Tam placing the first one on the cub's right ear.
"This is a charm of true thinking... designed to help you see through falsehoods and deception."
He picks up it's mate and holds it out to the cub to put on for himself. "And this is a charm of the strong of heart..."

*Kero's eyes are wet with tears...and his voice seems layered, by twelve others, as they meet*
Thank you, sira...thank you so much....*He puts the charm on*
**See it now?**

Tam smiles. "With those ear clip and that ring, he says pointed to the one he had given him earlier... I will be with you always. Maybe not physically... but always here, where it counts..." he whispers huskily tapping Kero on the chest. "No matter where you go... no matter how far down you fall, I'll be there to help you get back up... Now this ring...." he says pulling it out of the box and holding it out.
"This ring may look like the first, but I fully expect you'll be using it more often... and it has a completely different purpose."

What does it do, sira?

Tam smiles. "It will do what you someday will it to do. It is enchanted, dulcha, and capable of holding a great deal of magical energy, but as yet it has no true purpose. Someday you will know what to do with it, Until then it will feed you, if necessary. As it will gradually replenish itself over time, it is a good ring even as it is... but should you someday chose to give it a purpose, it will respond eagerly. Yes, it will someday talk... it's kind of a baby sentient ring... you'll need to train it to serve ye properly. Right now it is sleeping..."

"I love ye too, Kerobian... all of ye..." says Tam slowly climbing to his feet. He stretches and pulls off his tunic folding it up carefully and placing it in a special box that smells of sandalwood. The he get ready for bed.
"I don't know about you, but all that cider made me really woozy. I'm for bed, kiddo."

Figured us out, have you? Don't worry, the little one is asleep...now do you realize how we managed to do this, but still be the same, wise Kerobian?

Tam looks down at the cub and smiles thinly. "I've dealt with fractured personalities in the past. So I assumed that is what you are. He has so many forms, so many identities... each one similar in some ways but each an entity unto itself. I presume there is a hierarchy... one such personality which governs all... or else all would be chaos.

*Kero nods, then speaks as his former self*
I am Kerobian XII, our twelfth incarnation, raised by a pair of human parents. In answer to your question, usually, we all meld together, our wisdom of the ages becoming one with the youthful joy and emotion of the youngest, though you can say the youngest reigns supreme, except in times like these, when we fracture due to great emotion...would you like to meet some others of us? We all have stories to tell.

Tam thinks for a bit, lying on his back with his hands beneath his head, staring at the ceiling. "I know very little about the original Kerobian.... Luciel, yes, but Kerobian... no. And I didn't know the last Kerobian very long and all the while I did, he kept fluctuating between adult and child so much, much of what I do know is colored by his former existences. So maybe you could tell me about the first Kerobian and the last... and if anyone else wishes to toss in a few words, I won't begrudge him."
