Exactly.
Just have your character start studying how Crystal works, and then try to learn how to do it. Usually, it's a clan, but in other places I've seen them used as just another type of jutsu, not requiring a clan. I think it'd be cooler to not require a clan.

Tonight is the night we become great!The Stars will show us the way! I think Lan is thinking more of a step up on the ice style, so it'd be kind of a second level to the Hyouton.
So Misu, will Crisis be making a return?

And yeah. Mana is right. I was intending that it would be a second form to the Hyouton.
And Muffins, Crystal IS as hard as metal. Well, harder, actually, since it took an A or S-rank technique to break through, and not even Raikiri to break through it, nor Rasengan.
