Tam nods. "Want me to talk to her now? I'm not you, I might be able to get her to listen to reason." he asks helpfully.

Tam nods and walks over to where Salunia is sniffling by the tree, Reaching down he gently pries her paws odd of Puss and lifts him up, carefully soothing his fur down with a sigh. "Kind of blew it didn't ye, princess?"

He eases down by the tree until he is facing her, leaning sideways against the trunk. The cat tries to climb into his shirt, but he doesn't hand it back, so it soon calms down and sits there, glaring at the cub.

"Hope tells me you wanted to see the baby, right?"

Tam nods. "I should hope not... do you know what would have happened to the baby if she had tried to do so?"

Still sniffling she shakes her head no.

Tam strokes Puss for a minute then turns him loose. "It would have died, princess. Truly, I kid you not. Right now that baby is like a seed, growing in a very special place in your mommy's body. It is growing like a seed does underground. If you took it out, it couldn't live out here. If you dig up a seed before it is ready to become a plant, it dies, too. Some things take time. Lion babies take about 100 days to grow large enough to live outside their mommies. Humans take twice as long and then some. Other animals and thinking creatures take either longer or shorter times, depending on who and what they are."

Tam laughs. "I'd say go ask your momma, but you'd probably just get her flustered. Let's just say that babies are made when a momma and a daddy come together is a very special way, a way that some day you ,too, will come together with a male you care for very very much. But you have a lot of growing to do before then, princess. Trust me, when the time comes, you will know what to do and who to do it with. Until then let's just call it one of those adult secrets okay?"

Tam chuckles. "But do you tell them everything? Kids have secrets too ye know... like where the coolest patch of shade is... and I bet you have a special friend no one else can see, right? Most kids do. We all have secrets, little one. I know I do... wanna know one?"

Tam smiles at her and fades slightly. "I've been the special friend of many a child, princess. I know all about them. And my secret is... I didn't know how to swim until I was five times older than the oldest living person... I'm still not very good at it, either... but you have to promise me you will never ever tell anyone.. promise?"
