*Kero soon taps on the water again, trying to call him up...then sticks his head in*
*Bubbles* I'm sorry about yesterday, granddad...can you please forgive me?
**I hope that's the scenario you're envisioning....because I don't want to do the other one...**

Tam chuckles softly as a long dark shadow moves through the water towards them. He moves to the edge of the water and calls out a liquid sounding greeting, surprising Kero.
The old gar sticks his head out of the water and eyes them both with a jaundice eye. "What... yer still here? I thought ye'd give up by now and go home."
Tam bows slightly and offers the grubs and worms. "It is a poor fare for one so deserving, but I am famished, old one... and faint with hunger... may I please feed my family this morn on the least of your brethren?"

*Kero bows to the old gar, inwardly relieved...he had thought that the old gar had passed on...and that he had been the cause of it....*

The gar turns and looks at Kerobian, was that laughter in his eyes... "Didn't ye catch enough last night... or did the bottomless pit consume the leavings?"
Tam chuckles. "We ate well, thank you. But It wasn't Kero who ate us out of our breakfast, I fear. We've a youngling of our own who's appetite is even larger than his. I hate to remove more than our share though, so I promise ye this. This will be the last we fish here until spring and the younglings of yer realm drive ye batty once again."

Tam waits politely as the old fish thinks this over. After a bit the elderly gar nods.
"There are a few that could use a bit of lessoning. If they cannot resist the lure of yer hook, then who am I to stop them... as I've said before, it keeps them from passing on the stupid traits to the nest school of youngsters. How long are ye planning to camp here?"
"Not long..."says Tam with a sigh. "We need to return today. We were celebrating a special point in Kero's life journey... I'm sure ye've noticed... he's not so quietly maturing into an adult."
The gar sinks slowly into the water, laughing. "Not so quietly indeed. Fair weather and warm winter to ye all. I will see you both come spring."

Tam selects a fat grub and does much the same, grateful for the quiet respite. He loved Kero's antics, but there were times when he enjoyed his quiet company better. Together they garnered enough for breakfast and a passable lunch, provided they put something with it, neither one speaking, but enjoying the mystical misty morning none the less.

Tam begins to clean the fish... eying the lion worriedly. He hopes he hasn't offended him in some way. Finally he goes up to him and kneels by his side. "Kero, ducha... what's wrong?"

*Kero looks at him*
I...I was just worried, that I had hurt old granddad last night...and...it's good to know he's....
*At this point, a cry interrupts them*

Tam nods and gives him a hug. "I was worried too... but when I didn't see him floating out there, I figured he was alive... possibly hurt, but alive. I didn't want to worry ye, so I merely invoked our normal greeting hoping for the best... sometimes that is all ye can do... hope fer the best... and perhaps thinking before we act... understand?"
He turns to Salunia and smiles. "We need to get them cleaned up, princess... then we'll cook them... unless ye prefer to eat them raw... I know Kero does sometimes."

So Tam shows her how to clean fish, doing the chore slowly and painstakingly careful... until she get bored with it all and leaves them alone. Laughing he quickly finishes the job and winks at Kero.
"Sometimes, dulcha, showing a task in all it's glory er gory detail takes all the fun out of it... wouldn't ye say?"
