Zeshin would breathe a sigh of relief once the new captain and the Arashikage agreed with him. He would return to his normal stature and take a step back. Once the captain gave him new orders, he nodded his head. He moved his right hand over his left and pulled his sleeve up to summon his cloak. Throwing it around his body, he hide his normal attire and waited to be dismissed before leaving the office. The orders were clear. He'd keep himself hidden from public view for the time being.
With a final bow, Zeshin would leave everyone in the office with no identification visible of his allegiance with the APD.
Miyuki ghosted a hand over her shoulder where her wound had been healed as she entered the building with Thresher. She would need to dedicate some more time to training to work on her reflexes to avoid the same mistake, but at least they managed to recover the necessary bodies. While the ANBU officer had taken them and had assured they'd report back to the Arashikage, the officer was unaware of some of the finer details, like the people who were being experimented on. Miyuki looked to Thresher for support before knocking on the kage's door in absence of a secretary.

Maybe what Miyuki said was true, which just meant that the people here spent more time and effort ensuring that the village was safe, despite the craziness. Thresher was jolted from her thoughts as MIyuki put money on the table and got up. “Hey, I ain’t done eatin’ yet!” She called to the artist in dismay, before quickly scarfing the rest of her food down and following.
As they entered the Arashikage office, Thresher took note of the soft motion the artist made to her shoulder. It was slow enough not to be one of pain, but it carried an air of thoughtfulness to it. Thresher wondered what was going on in Miyuki’s head. Something in the back of the girl’s mind made her wish she were better, though. Like if she were stronger, then Miyuki wouldn’t have gotten hurt. Thresher, with her hands in her pockets, blinked as Miyuki turned to look at her. For someone as hardworking and determined as Miyuki, her face seemed soft and gave off a faint glow in the light of the building. She didn’t know what to say, but Tresher nodded in support. Her and Miyuki had made it this far, so the Hoshigaki wasn’t going to run off on her just yet.

To be expected in these times of crisis what the duo would be met with was a clone of the Arashikage. The one on the more colorful spectrum it seemed as upon entry to said office he was essentially 'shooing' away with his fingers performing the 'go away shoo' gesticulations. The anbu nodded at what could only be presumed to be orders and the clone sighed exasperatedly as it began doodling on some loose papers on the desk with one of those fancy pens. You know the kind. Ten colors in one and you push down the side for a different pen tip in the chamber. All things considered they were pretty shitty pens that broke within a day or two when the springs inside got all wonky and and the reset button jammed.
It took a good moment before the Arashikage noticed the two girls. Almost as if he had some form of attention deficit disorder, yet when he noticed them he welcomed them with a smile. "Hello! Hello! My lovely ladies! Come you bringing news bloop? I do hope its good news." The Aashikage shifted into a frown but his spirits still appeared to be up almost as if he was pretending to be sad. This act only seemed to be more jarring when he rested his cheek on his hand all while sullenly continuing to click the pens many colors and resetting it. A surefire way to break these types of pens faster. "I've been hearing a might fine sum of bad news lately you know. Its really put a damper on a kage's day I say bloop. Quite the dampering indeed."

Miyuki smiled at Lord Arashikage as she entered the room, pleased that his demeanor was cheerful. She wasn't sure her news was bad or good, though. "It is most certainly news," she admitted vaguely before continuing anyways. "We wanted to clarify some details from the mines. I understand that the bodies of the ANBU were taken care of, as well as that of our assailant. We did not get to question him much before we had to use lethal force, but we did learn that he has experimented on many people in pursuit of mastering metamorphosis through some means or other. We understand this to be for some larger principle of reincarnation, so I suspect he is of some religious following. That said, he had a lot of different bodies that he was messing around with beyond our own ANBU forces. There were some bodies that were... Sir, they looked like they hailed from the Land of Iron. The Arashikage's mouth was agape with both hands on his cheeks from this news not unlike a popular cully mculkin from the box art of home alone. "Oh nononono. Bloop. Miyuki was unsure of how to take the kage's reaction until he pulled them into a hug. She squeaked at the sudden move, freezing up in his grasp until she was released. She put a hand on her shoulder once she was standing on her own, feeling for the phantom wound even though it was well-healed. "Are you okay?" Her concerned expression brightened at the mention of the promotion, something that would make caring for her parents only easier, though she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
"What are we going to do about the Iron folks that were experimented on? We could not recover their bodies and I, well... I mean, you know best. I do not mean to question you. Uh, thank you for... your concern. Is there anything I can help you with?" She was feeling off-balanced by the whirlwind of emotions the kage was showing. Was he always like that? She didn't know what to make of it.

His hug pulled her in rather quickly, pushing her face into Miyuki’s hair. “I don’ know wha’ tha’ word means,” She managed to get out in a muffled voice, with hair filling her mouth. Thresher had to remember the last time she saw Toso. Locked into deadly combat, down one arm, but still the most fearsome thing she’d seen/
Flash cut to this Toso and the emotions were… overwhelming. She tried to squirm free, especially once the tentacles rubbed against her. But until Toso let her go, she was unable to free herself. As he mentioned promotions, the Kage slipped something to Thresher: a folder of some sorts. While Miyuki spoke, Thresher quietly opened her folder. Inside was paper work explaining… Oinin, and a mask. She decided she’d read it later, and turn her focus to the conversation at hand.
Which seemed to be over as quickly as it began. Thresher did take a step forward and place a stabilizing hand on Miyuki’s back, as the Hoshigaki saw she was reacting to the wound on her shoulder. “Ya need t’ know when t’ call it quits,” Thresher said quietly, almost whispering in her ear. “Thank ya fer the promotion, Old Man.” Thresher would try to gently direct Miyuki out of the office as she spoke to the Kage. “If ya got more work fer us, we’ll be resting,” She spoke very pointedly to Miyuki, shooting her a look. “After such a rough mission.”

Miyuki took the Lord Arashikage's words to heart, deciding to let him handle things and instead focus on a little self care like they both clearly wanted. "Okay, okay. We can go get some R&R." She turned to look at the poster and thought carefully about the face she saw, though it didn't quite ring a bell. "No, I am not familiar. Guess you will have to take him down though." She offered Thresher a confident smile. "I am sure you will be a fine hunter." She offered her goodbyes to the Arashikage before taking her leave with Thresher.

tabTime finally moved forward for Thresher. A month after her mission to the agriculture district. A month after her night with Miyuki. In this time, the woman had spent trying to better herself, as per Toso’s suggestion. Her target that she’d been given was still the goal she’d been working towards, and she’d spent the time training. Going on Oinin missions, learning the importance of her position within Arashi. Spending time with Miyuki, who’d quickly become her best friend since their night together.
Thresher stood, now, waiting to be called into the Kage’s office. After her promotion to Oinin, she’d started to dress just slightly more formally when she was on official business. The larger woman leaned casually against the wall, her arms crossed across her chest and Kabutowari leaning against her leg. They should be here soon… She thought, looking to the hall for Miyuki and Charybdis.

Miyuki arrived in the building expecting herself to be first there, but she saw Thresher and cursed herself for not being earlier. She liked to be there first, but her dad had required a little more time this morning than usual. Still, she had made arrangements to keep them safe for the time it would take to go to this dungeon that Thresher had pitched to her and Charybdis. "Long time, no see," Miyuki greeted, though it wasn't quite true. She had spent some of the break training and another bit of it keeping herself busy with different types of work, but she had made time to see Thresher. "No Charybdis, huh?"
