When Denbe returned, the Scorpion would carefully and cautiously remove the lock on the door and slowly open it. If something came out of it, they could move to quickly shut it. It beat kicking the door in anyways.

The locking mechanism is a steel bar with a lock preventing it from folding in, and it is barring the door's opening until it is unlocked. There is no key apparent anywhere you had searched for this door.
It will take a TN 10 Strength/Heavy Weapon roll to break, or a TN 15 Strength/Jiujutsu to break, or a TN 20 Strength/Other Weapon Skill to break. Years of rust and corrosion has weakened it.
EDIT: I'll even allow a TN 25 Strength/Jiujutsu (Atemi). If you make it work, it's glory-worthy.
Only one attempt per player, please. If you fail once, you fail always.

The Scorpion drew his kusarigama and carefully gauged the distance, lest he accidentally whack anyone with the chain and attempted to give the lock a good solid hit! ....and met with FAIL!!!

Denbe wouldn't be gone long- he was only looking around the corners real quick for torches. Lacking any more resources, he wouldn't fuss- simply move quickly. Seeing the others attempting to knock the door out rather than pick the lock in some fashion, the Hare decided he'd have his go at it next- walking slowly down the hall until the other's cleared out of the way- and dashing in the final stretch to hop into the air, delivering a snapping kick of his heel into the middle of the door.
This didn't seem wholly effective. Possibly because he wasn't braced against the ground in any fashion, and would hop back, rubbing his heel a bit and looking at the door, which only seemed to scowl in wooden disapproval of his efforts.

The little Dragon flinched and backed further away as the big strong Bushi all had their go at the door... and all failed. All eyes were on her, and she felt the call of the void as the universe opened up before her eyes. Where the brute strength of man fell short, there was the calm, gentle feminine touch.
...and a bit of chi, but they wouldn't know that.

Masuyo would lunge forward with a graceful fingertip strike, trying a touch of compassion rather than Testosterone, like the others had used. Her hand would thrust forward as she would make contact with the lock.

Maybe you guys loosened it for her? That's what I would try telling myself.
Kitsuki Masuyo gains a point of glory, because that was awesome. EDIT: But she is boxblocked by her heritage, and gains nothing for her display.

If this had been amidst combat, Denbe would have given up his next round staring blankly at Masuyo, and maybe a simple action on the next round to stare blankly at the door as well.
"H-hmm. Well."
He'd clear his throat and attempted to maintain as much grace as possible. Or at least something as close to grace as possible.
"Thank you, Kitsuki-san. I am not familiar with the hand-arts taught by the Dragon but clearly they are quite... remarkable."
And with that, and in response to all the unease this door was causing... he'd slowly draw his katana, stepping to the front. And did his best to look dignified doing so. Embarrassed as he might be, at least he still had his On. Mostly. He had the feeling it would have required a few raises to recover from the hopping following his own attempt.

Kojiro had meant Masuyo, because he was only worthy to follow in the path of the awesomeness that he just witnessed. But hey, Kojiro had the torch so, he should probably stay in the middle. Not like he trusted Kagae anyways.

As the other Great Clan Bushi seemed to lose their nerve before the superior might of a woman, she could only sigh and continue on behind the brave little Hare.

Marching order: Denbe, Masuyo, Kojiro, Kagae.
Fubuki would stay behind, actually fleeing upon the door's opening. The four would make their way down a set of stone stairs towards the belly of the castle. The hall was a bit cramped but still doable. The light from the torch, which cast shadows of the Hare and Dragon upon the ground below, showed a black stonework floor awaiting you four at the landing.
Making your way to the bottom, you would arrive at a large open area, with a stagnant air that made it difficult to breathe. The light flickered as it shone, revealing the contents of the rather large chamber that awaited you all here.
... nothing. There was nothing at all down here, at least visible from the stairway. Nothing remained within sight, except four walls, a ceiling, a floor, and a lot of bad vibes.
